I think you can still get the camera to work pretty well. I have the XT5 and I shoot professionally and I've shot three weddings with my XT5 with no problems. There are some challenges with it and I acknowledge that it probably needs fixing but I'm certainly not spitting the dummy like a three-year-old child like many people on the Internet yes some pointing a finger at you
@nevvanclarke9225 For me, I kinda regretted on jumping on X-T5 due to Fuji's being trendy. In comparison to many other camera brand, they're literally in the last place in their autofocus game
I bought XT-50 to upgrade from X-E4, and I use only single point and AF-S the X-E4 face and eye recognition does work 70% of the time, when I started using X-T50 in AF-S, the face and eye detect always show up in the screen, but the focus work 10% only. This is truly disaster, I disabled face and eye detect, and will only use single point.
I agree 100%. I wouldn’t trade any of my Fujifilm cameras for every day photography but when it comes to professional work, we are literally dying and begging for full frame from Fuji. It upsets me that I have to go to different brand just to get a full frame camera.
Fuji needs to urgently fix the xt5 Af especially after the 4.1 firmware which made things worse. You’re right the colours and estetic are great but if Af is not working it’s worthless. And I’m now considering switching back to Sony wich has less vibes but is extremely reliable
I am the opposite. I am staying with Fujifilm because I love many things about the Camera not just the colours. It's the experience as well. I own an XT5 a GFX 50s ii and GFX 100s II all three of these cameras are amazing. I would say for a low budget the FujifilmXT5 is one of the best cameras on the planet. I know people will struggle with the auto focus but I have figured ways around that and I know eventually they have said they will improve it and there is a launch coming up soon and then they said they are fixing the XT5 as well so we just have to be patient.
Hey! Did you get the chance to play with the voigtlander 40mm f1.2 asph? Waiting for my VM version to arrive from ebay and I wanted to know your opinion on it. Keep up the good work!
They most likely follow up later for XT5 and XT20, i guess for now theyre giving priority to XH2/XH2S because the AF problem is more prominent on these models.
This ^ , it is also not uncommon for them to roll out one model first, and since the X-H2(s) is their Film, sports action, wildlife cameras it makes sense to roll out any AF-C improvements here first, hopefully the photo AF-C is returned to previous level (which may be classed as a bug fix, not an AF-C improvements, since it may not be better than previous firmware). X-T5 was aimed at photo first and since A-FS is fine, (and AF-C works fine too if you know the limitations... don't try and track a moving target at F/1.2 at 20FPS with AF-C set to release priority.) My tip, If for some reason you need to shoot at CH, stop the lens down, increase the DOF, set AF-C to focus priority. As far as other sized sensor... I still don't see point in joining a crowded Full Frame market. If Fuji was to join the L Mount alliance, would they just fill the gap between Panasonic and Leica price wise. They would be relying on 3rd Party glass too. Fuji don't have the manufacturing capacity to make a 3rd set of lenses, and a 3rd set of cameras. Open new manufacturing takes years of planning . It is far more likely that we see a 1 off camera, in a niche place in the market, such as a Large Format fixed lens "landscape" camera, that they will sell a small quantity a year for a high price than
Cheers Tudor, it’s Sean in Atlanta! I have given this a lot of thought and I believe that Fuji is going to introduce either a monochrome sensor or a CCD or Bayer sensor. Fuji currently has no lenses that would fit, or work on a full frame sensor. So, they would have to introduce an entirely new lens line to handle a full frame sensor. Even if you could use their medium format lenses, they would be too large and too expensive. So I think it’s going to be a monochrome on the X100VI. That way, they could use all their existing APC lenses which would work perfectly on a monochrome sensor. What do you think about that? Sean
For the moment it seems it's the Fujifilm X-M5. The rumor states: Fujifilm’s New Camera Coming with New Sensor Size (Never Used Before by Fujifilm). So a new sensor SIZE... www.fujirumors.com/fujifilms-new-camera-coming-with-new-sensor-size-never-used-before-by-fujifilm/
Tudor I respect your opinion but lumix colors are very good with the Venus engine in the newer S line . I also wonder if you are missing the forest for the trees with a possible lens and sensor size upgrade . Here is my reason it’s not about eye AF or subject AF it’s about competent AF in general and I remember the false positive situation back to the x-t2. It’s still here ….you can’t expect customers to invest any more than they have for less value. I am also concerned that they would join the L mount alliance . I would prefer they sort their software and hardware out first because I wonder what quality issues might come with letting them in and possibly affecting the L mount future roadmap.
FF is a big saturated market (Fujifilm should have done it before MF line if they want to, but they haven’t) FF mount will only jeopardising Fujifilm own APS-C & MF lines value, and make all 3 lines less outstanding & competitive at the same time. However, a FF version of X100 can be a nice punch for many camera companies, providing the size and price are manageable enough…not to mention if it can be a monochrome…(fantasy thinking 😓)
Unless they take their AF seriously, here why a FF proposition won't attract pros.. Bad af, no lens lineup, highly likely more expensive than competitors, lens will be bigger, body will be bigget and not all care about the fuji colours. I use fuji with my canon fullframes and i nevee care about fui colours. I shoot raw ans try to make my fuji colours close to my canons. It is subjective topic. Xt5 which i own is more expenaive than one of my full frame canon r8. But the latter can blow the xt5 out of the water in AF department.
Strange that there are still people who believe that FF produces a different compression than apsc. There is nothing „magic“ about a bigger sensor, it‘s just all about the crop factor applied to the focal length, the aperture, ISO (squared) and to the resolution you can expect to get from the lenses. In the latter case the number of lines per mm are the same but with a bigger sensor you simply have more mm in each direction and therefore get more lines in total for a given mtf value. You wont likely see that with good apsc primes though. Beside some tiny differences due to the X-Trans design of my Fuji X-T5 there is absolutely no difference to images from my Leica Q3 if I process them accordingly.
@@superstringsbro Raw files from different camera brands are already processed in different ways. Even if its just contrast or colors you are easily tricked into thinking the quality is different. Nikon applies a lot of noise reduction and therefore some people think the cameras have better „high ISO performance“. Fuji doesn‘t apply much sharpness on their X-Trans sensors presumably to avoid the demosaicing artefacts get visible. But if you want to have it sharper, just move the slider in your raw converter. Its stunning how close you can get the results in the most („normal“) situations.
@@KILLEGOTV compression - the effect of foreground and background to appear closer together - is just the result of a narrow angle of view. On a flat image distant objects are usually smaller than those nearby. The smaller the angle of view, the more you will get all objects at the same size which will then look „compressed“. It doesn‘t matter if this narrow angle stems from a longer focal length or a smaller sensor.
I guess full frame is overly saturated already. With their focus on APSC fuji could trickle down the sensor to another model of theirs. I don't see the way they would release full frame with all their existing infrastructure. My guess it will be x30 successor, since small camera have a lot of demand recently
Beside the general fujifilm characteristics like color and film simulations I like the compactness of the aps-c cameras and particularly lenses. You often proved one can shoot great pictures with Fuji aps-c cameras. So for me as a hobby fotografer no need or wish to go FF.
