Awesome stuff! A big part of this NFL 2023 kickoff is the great story line of Goff-Mahomes II to talk about, but the game really says what an amazing job the top brass with Brad Holmes & Dan Campbell have done to put the Lions front and center for this season. Can't wait for the game!!! Thanks for fine segment.
I was at the Packers game in Jan and now I’ve bought tickets to the Chiefs vs Lions already in KC!! I’m a season ticket holder for the Lions. GO LIONS!!!!!
This is great, if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. What better time to play the chiefs, then the first game of the season. #onepride 🦁
This is what Respect looks like boys and girls. All I hope is that are lying go in and mix it up turn that game into a ground-and-pound with KC. To be the best we gotta beat the best. I'm excited
You can ground and pound against the chiefs. That is the quickest way to get down several scores. You either have to have a defense that can rattle mahomes just enough or get into a passing shoot out
After last year being snubbed on the schedule. Starting out against the defending Super Bowl Champs, sweet start of the season with respect. Go lions 🦁
Andy Reid has no time to plan. If the Lions played the Chiefs week 5 or later in the season, I would be a bit worried, but they have no idea what's going to hit them. Ben Johnson is going to drop some crazy plays! Gibbs will be unleashed!
You have officially lost your mind. Andy Reid has the entire summer to gameplan against the lions. He is literally the best HC in the nfl in week 1 and coming off a bye. We can tell you never watched one SNAP of Reid’s eagles or chiefs 😂
I read one take on this that said the Lions hype is through the roof right now so the best way for the league to maximize it was to schedule this game early in case Detroit pooped the bed later in the season. I guess that’s one way to look at it. 🤷♂️
With all of the new talent on Lions defense should make it difficult for KC to prepare for this game. Expect Reid will use TE and RB more initially until he gets a feel for how Lions secondary is playing. Hoping for a well officiated game. Jamo should lament this opportunity.
What are you talking about lmao. Mahomes has carved up the best defenses in the nfl annually. That’s not changing with a middle of the road defense with the lions
On what planet would the lions have a better defense than KC. KC finished as the 11th ranked defense last season with mostly rookies and was second in the league in sacks lmao
I love this potential schedule of 2 TNF an 2 MNF games but this Opener bothers me in the potential Referee Screw Job. You know what i mean. Just apprehension the past can still haunt. Call it PTSD
And the chiefs went up and down the field on that same eagles team in the superbowl, in which they should have won by 2 scores had they not called back thay second fumble td lmao. Go ahead and be foolish enough to run the ball against kc, you’llbe down by 2 scores before the first quarter is over lmao
You've gotta love it? Ridiculous take. They are hoping for a good year this year. So, why not get it off to a good start with a loss? The League is saying, "Oh, the Lions are trying to be good? Let's start them off on the road against the Super Bowl Champs! LMAO!". Another instance of the League schedule makers screwing over the Lions.
After starting last season with 6 losses I doubt one loss against the SB champs is going to crush anyone on this team. Not that they're going to lose. 😊
@@Pait728 Last year was last year. Has no bearing on this coming year. Besides, wanna check out the effects that a loss on opening day has on probabilities of making the playoffs? Even put that aside, then answer the question, would you rather start the year off with a reasonably winnable game, or would you rather start out with the toughest opener in the league, especially when you are a young team trying to get some momentum? Wanna start the year out with a must win game in game 2? Get the pressure on right away? However you cut it, this is not a favorable start to the schedule by any means, unless they actually win, but the odds are against that. You can in no way say that this is just what the Lions need this year. So, pardon me for not liking that the NFL did this to the Lions, and not being surprised in the least that they would do it, and suspect they are doing it because the NFL has it in for the Lions. Nobody said they would collapse if they lose, so what is your point again?
Luuurrv it!
I love it. We are finally getting a respect!!

Oh man, so close to home. I need to get tickets for this one!

This is the perfect opener. The up-and-coming underdog vs the champ. This is Rocky. We’re Rocky! YO ADRIAN!!!

I know on the Dan Patrick show they said this wood will be a first time a non-playoff team has started the season on the first game of the year

Wow, 9-8 and ALMOST made the playoffs.
"The Lions are going to put up a heck of a fight"
So, you're saying they might not get blown out.
Love it! Detroit should have a better D than KC (barring injuries of course.) Gibbs/D-Mo unleashed behind our line could be the difference maker.
On what planet would the lions have a better defense than KC. KC finished as the 11th ranked defense last season with mostly rookies and was second in the league in sacks lmao
Hopefully we play KC TWICE

We went toe to toe with the Eagles in game 1 last year, so bring it on. I hope we run the ball straight down their throats.
Dude I love it. I’m with you
"We"? Oh, are you on the team? Get a life.
