*for info, RowAlong used to be PDP - but the name was changed to RowAlong in 2020. Спорт
In the video, I say "Go to your app store of choice" as I thought they'd already developed an Android version - it turns out I was wrong, it'll be here later in 2023. Sorry about this mistake.
It's almost September now; do you know when in 2023 they were expecting to release the Android version?
december allready, and not available on android...
Thank you for all that you do. Very much appreciated!
Great Video. I am on COZWEAT too. Saw you on the leaderboard. To be fair, EXR is good, but this is GREAT. Awesome graphic quality, synchronized rowing movement. Hope it can upload my sessions to logbook.
Yeah - the graphics are what really set this apart. It's not there yet for the gameplay point of view that would really draw in people the way Zwift does for cyclists, but it'll be really interesting to see where this goes. And as a result, how EXR respond with their app development.
Great video, your channel is the best!
That's very kind of you to say.
I am enjoying EXR, but have been waiting for what seems like an eternity for their Competition mode to launch. Cozweat looks like it already has that (assuming other rowers show up to race)! I would think even without other rowers, they should add ghost pacer boats like you see with EXR. It'd be nice for one of these to emerge as truly a Zwift for rowing.
I’m not sure if the developers are getting tied up in knots with trying to make different models of rowing machine able to race against each other. That’s the only thing I can think that’s holding back races. Well, other than who arranges and curates them.
EXR discord has been announcing some special events. Funny enough, the only feature I kind of want is it to post graphics or screenshot to Strava when it shares my workout.
Been using Holofit for the last year and a half; It's VR and I love my Oculus. My sister just sent me this video and this Cozweat thing has got my attention. Is there any way/method of using this with Oculus (Meta). VR.
there seem to be a few design similarities with Zwift UI. But definitely looks good
Hi all, I assume any row you do on this app syncs to concept website like the ErgData does?
Not yet. Although the developer says that’s coming.
I think the app shows a lot of promise but with a very limited trial of 25km and then a $15 per month I just don't think it's at a point where I'm prepared to pay that much given there's a limit to routes etc. Will definitely keep an eye on this one, thanks for covering it.
Thanks Miles. Your reply is precisely why I made the video. Just as a kind of taster of what it can do. There's more to it than I showed, so it's worth still habing a sniff around for those 25Km. And maybe one day it'll get everything I've been hoping for in an app.
I was on their Facebook page. There are some activities you can attend, so you can get more free millage.
Hi, It's great to see other peoples' thoughts. Could you please give an fair price. We are happy to hear all kinds of voices. Thank you.
Would this app work with other smart, Bluetooth enabled rowers or just the Concept2? Thanks!
Right now it’s C2 only. I’ve suggested a few times that they make it available for all BT rowers.
do you mean, that it will also work with smartrow (waterrower)?
@@rowalong
When on a smart bike trainer + an app (Zwift or otherwise), the app has a concept of grades, and to lesser extent, pacelines, and the difficulty changes as one traverses the course, with one perhaps changing gears in response to the real world sensation at the legs.
I don't (currently) own a rower, but I think the rowing machine difficulty is set manually (?). So by contrast, there is no sensed feedback from the app as the situation changes in the virtual environment, e.g. one travels upstream or downstream, turns into the wind, or is moving in someone else's slipstream. Correct?
Perhaps that doesn't apply much to real world rowing anyways, like rowing mostly feels the same ...
How the screen mounted? Can connect to the internet through wifi?
I use the ErgTab mount: www.etsy.com/uk/shop/LucianDepold
What's the purpose of an interactive rower? I understand an interactive exercise bike that auto adjust resistance to mimic inclines etc. But whats the purpose when it comes to rowing?
It’s mostly about visual distraction. Seeing something other than numbers on a screen. There’s also the guided workouts with on screen info / banners and bridges to race between etc.
But you’re right. Something like this isn’t the same as Zwift. However. Machines like the Aviron that I have - they are controlled by the platform. So it gets easier or harder depending on the workout.
I guess a C2 with an app is a “dumb trainer” - whereas the Aviron would be like a Neo / Kickr for Zwift.
Still only Concept 2 and still only IOS :(
Windows app and Waterrower support would be ideal. It looks much better then EXR
any apps where I can row a roman warship or viking boat?
Not that I've seen. I'll suggest it to the Aviron people though!
Subscriptions for all these rowing apps/games are way too expensive. Are there any ‘buy once’ single player apps for rowers?
Is anyone running this on Android? It's not showing up in the play store on any of my android devices.
I just asked the DEV - it's still in development. When I saw that Android was an option in the FAQ for devices, I just assumed it had been made, but you know what they say about ASS U ME....
Does it also work with a waterrower?🤔
Not yet. But I’ve suggested it to the dev.
ok thanks@@rowalong
Is this better than EXR?
Not yet. But if there was a COZWEAT / EXR lovechild, it would be awesome!
looks good but I dont think it will work on my 4 year old Ipad
Have you tried? It may be that it needs the latest OS to run.
@@rowalong I will try it this evening :) what do your prefer EXR OR GOZWEAT?
Can't hear you over that machine
China :/
They've done a good job of ripping off Zwift, I'll give them that.
It is rather close. So much so you'd have to wonder if this was actually Zwift beta testing a rowing option under a different name!
Chinese companies software companies doing what Chinese software companies do best!
@@rowalong that was exactly what I thought looking at the first Pictures. This is from Zwift!
Def not from Zwift. I wrote Zwift rowing back in 2020 and it’s not this.
Weird to see people build pretty cool products (which clearly took skill) but then lazily rip off a UI and color scheme aesthetic of the inspiration. Seems like they are trying to confuse people.
This app is not stable. Why would you review it positively?
This version I reviewed was very much a beta, and stable for how I'd used it then. I've not been on it for a long time. Has it changed?
