Wreath Pavlova Dessert With A Twist // Another Storm // Aussie Homesteaders Pavlova Challenge

  • First time baking a Pavlova! I'm not a big fan of cream so I used Yoghurt with sugar and Vanilla Essence instead. For the toppings, I used everything we had on the farm; homegrown or preserved in the freezer. Feijoa syrup, raspberry leaves, mint leaves, raspberries, cherries, edible flowers (violas, dianthus, callistemon/bottle brush), carrot flowers and carrot leaves. It was SO delicious!

    And I love your nod to both Australia and New Zealand with the fajoa syrup and the bottlebrush. Love that idea of the feijoa and brown sugar to make a syrup.
    And the rain! But having that dam full at this time of the year is a blessing. Somehow the rain has been missing us and it is starting to get dry.

    Wow Kat! Your wreath Pav is worth a artist award my dear. I didn’t realise from your photo the other day that it was a wreath. What a great idea. Loved Justin and your sons cameo appearance 😂.

    G'day!
    That Pav is easily one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Good on you. Just incredible.
    How about that weather. Up here in Northern Vic, it was 39 on Boxing Day and we copped a 15 minute storm that was so heavy, it flooded out the garage. Then it was back to 39 and sunny again. 🤦‍♂

    Your pav looks fabulous. Hope it tasted as good as it looked. They really are very easy to make. One of my friends makes hers at night and leaves it in the oven overnight for when the oven cools down. It really dries then. I hope you won the competition. We had a lovely Christmas Day at Anna’s new house. Lots of fun. We have had lots of rain too but I think you win that competition! Having a few fine days now so I hope the sun shines for a long time now. Love to all.

    I love feijoas! YUM :) I still need to figure mine out!! I made a standard pav yesterday and it's almost gone - so it's a dangerous desert around here hahaha - perhaps I'll try make a "healthy" version, seems right.
