Tips if you want pretty notes:
1. Use grid or ruled paper.
2. Write the heading in caps with coloured marker/pen.
3. Use black pen.
4. Don't underline or make clouds while making them, just go with the writing flow.
5. Underline and highlight when you are revising your notes in the end.
6. If taking a 5/10 mins break in between then make doodles here and there to freshen up yourself.

1:20 It’s not that I can’t write notes like this, its just that writing 1 page like this would take me an hour and usually my notes take upto 10-15 pages so I’d basically spend my WHOLE day writing notes

The stress-
Pretty notes take longer which means it gets to ur LTM more efficiently and pretty notes make you wanna actually study

For people like me and you don’t have time to make such aesthetic notes, or your handwriting sucks, here are a few tips I found useful:
- Use dotted, lined or grid paper, this keeps it neat, organised and easy to rule straight lines.
- Try find a decent pen that suits your style. I found that my handwriting isn’t that bad it’s just the pen I use. I personally go for a more marker type pen because then there are no ink gaps and the colour is more prominent. Though mostly for school I use erasable ones cause I make a ton of mistakes.
- Once you found that pen, make sure it’s black as it just looks better.
- For titles and subheadings write it in capital letters, if you want colour, highlight the heading with a highlighter. I find pastel coloured highlighters look best on my work, but it is a personal preference.
- Make a key that you always follow. (e.g. green for subheadings, pink for titles, purple for extra notes) so it’s organised, or allocate colours to different topics or subjects.
Remember the modern calligraphy that people do is more art than writing, some people just have the artistic talent. If you really want to try it, practice during the holidays, that way it won’t take you a lot of time while at school. Honestly it doesn’t matter what your notes look like, as long as you can read it and it helps you pass your tests and exams you’ve done well.
Edit: Also when choosing your pen, take into consideration of your handwriting size, because that will influence what size pen you get. My handwriting is fairly small, so I stick with a 0.5mm and for some other pens I use a 0.7mm

I suggest using a pentel energel- they are definetly superior to all pens- your writing is GOING to improve if you use this.

Yeah these aren't really that good for actually studying effectively but if you enjoy them then you do you. Note-taking is not a very effective study method and wastes alot of time so if you're looking for actual good study methods then this is not for you. It's good if you just do it for fun though

If i keep taking my notes like this i would get a F and a lecture from parents for wasting my time making embroidery on my notes....☠️
Why not just write it down? That way, when you come back home you can always just re-write it with the embroidery on your notes

to everyone saying that you don’t need pretty notes, some people just write pretty notes because they just want their notes clean so it’s fun to read their notes. and many teachers love it, when students draw notes like that. By the way making pretty notes doesn’t takes 1/2 hours, you can make them in 15 minutes and you also learn something like that, I know pretty notes are not really useful but everyone has their own Opinion. In youtube they write their notes slowy, because they know their not in school right now.

seriously!! my history teacher commented on my notes because of how colorful and neat they were and when she asked me why it was because it personally helps me be motivated. instead of doodling all over my work and ruining it I'm incorporating my art INTO my work and therefore I'm focused and actually learning while being creative and having fun.

Tips if you want aesthetic notes:
*Before I do this just know you don't need perfect handwriting to do this*
- Use ruled paper
- Write the heading in highlighter/marker (outline with black pen if you wish) (highlighter/marker can be whatever color you want, i prefer teal)
- For notes always use a black pen because it always looks neat and crisp.
- Use a quick drying black pen.
- Black Gel pens are okay as long as they dry quick otherwise they can smudge the paper.
- If you make a lot of mistakes (like me) use correction tape or liquid white-out.
- Don't use a lot of underlining/circling otherwise it can make the page look crowded. Use a highlighter.
- If you're using a highlighter use one specific color for your one specific subject, if you use a lot of different colors in one subject it can be hard to focus while reading your notes.
*I get a lot of people don't find pretty notes doing them good, but for a lot of people (that includes me) it encourages us to study and feel eager to study.*

as one of the smart students in class taking around 11 subjects, i can confidently say that pretty notes are a personal preference, talking about myself personally it depends on my mood. if i have the time, ill just decorate a little but you should really see my notes in class HAHAHA sometimes i struggle to understand my own handwriting, if it makes you happy and more excited studying with pretty notes and all, that's great! honestly, you just need to study and that's it, with pretty notes or rough notes, it's for YOUR understanding and YOU should be able to understand it, not satisfy others with your nice handwriting or anything

coming from someone who takes these notes, we just write in class in a normal way and then re write at home. it somewhat counts as studying because you're looking back at your notes and re writing them thus relearning the info. hope this helps!

You shouldn’t make ur notes pretty just for the sake of being pretty. You should make them look nice because it’s easier to study from or it motivates you for school.
Doesn't mean you can't learn from them, I always take pretty notes if I do say so myself and I learn quite a bit compared to if I were to do messy handwriting and wouldn't even bother and I wouldn't even be able to read it, you need to keep your work nice and neat to enable to brain to take in all your information.

@@idkwhattosay593 yeah but you will learn much faster if you just no normal notes, they aren't messy because it's just the normal handwriting and they are just as useful, it will be a lot more efficient of course if we spend our time of actually learning them than picking a colour theme, gathering all the pens we would need just for one page of notes and spending more time writing the title than the contents.

The content of what you write matters more than how it looks. Your notes don't have to look pretty and your handwriting doesn't have to look printed. Pretty notes or not, what's important is that you understand what you're studying and what you're writing is actually essential to the subject/course you're taking.
Remember that every student has a different study and note-taking method. What works for one may or may not be effective for you. Take your time to know what works well for you and what doesn't.

School notes: I don’t lot of stationary
Home notes: I have a lot of stationary that my parents bought me!
Also the Giirl doing chapter things has the same setup as Mrs.bench doing calligraphy
My advice for note taking:
1.) Don’t write everything shown - Most of the things shown on the board or presentation isn’t always necessary. Write down only the things that are important. I mean, sure, you can write it all if you write fast and just highlight the necessary things later- but I just recommend you to write down main ideas and after that, word it in your own words and understanding after that.
2.) Don’t always write it straight on the notebook - If you want pretty notes, I recommend you write it on an intermediate pad/paper first then rewrite it on the notebook after that. It’s also good so that you can revise it if needed and if the lecture is going very fast.
3.) Put a little box shaped thing under your notes or on another page - This box will serve as the place where you can write the summary, main things or ideas that the topic is talking about. So if ever you’re going to do a quick study/re-read, you can easily go there and do a re-read. Make sure to write it in your own words and understanding. It’s also good so that you would know if you really understand the lesson. Make another box to re-write to correct the mistakes in your understanding if needed.
4.) Use assorted colored pens/highlighters - Use pens and highlighter in different colors. What I recommend is that per subject or chapter, change the color of the pens and highlighters used. It’s good so that you would be more organized and to put the spot light on the main things you need to remember.
5.) Ask to borrow others notes if needed - Sometimes, if the lectures go too fast and you’re not able to write all of it, don’t be shy to borrow others notes! It’s also good to see how others make and take their notes, maybe you can learn and borrow some ways how to.

I write the notes after I learned a chapter I try to make it pretty but obviously I can't afford so many pens but whatever I have I use them. One more thing making beautiful notes isn't a waste of time instead it's clean and pretty which will really make feel like studying. Also writing notes after learning a chapter and without opening the book is a good self evaluation as well 😊❤❤

Instead of spending a lot of time on aesthetic notes (They look nice at the end, though), you could make revisions cards/flashcards - I find this much more effective.
Note(lol) that these people might have crappy, untidy notes in the beginning, and then rewrite them so they look nice later, they might even be memorising the notes before writing them nicely so that it counts as revision time
You don’t need pretty notes for good grades but it helps motivate me . I normally wright all my notes and then go back in and take less than 5 mins to highlight and make everything pretty. This way I get the important stuff done

@@durgesh670 yeah like when I was in primary school we wasn't allowed to use anything I mean till grade 5 we had to just use a pencil and eraser but now am in 7th grade and I love taking notes in my own way but I don't use any other color but I do decorate the heading with sketch pens and brush pens and highlight important points (and some unnecessary decoration) but it really makes me happy!

You don’t need those expensive, VERY pretty. . .
1) get your paper/notebook.
(I don’t recommend blank paper)
2) Get a pen, a highlighter and a marker of your choice.
3) Write your headings with the marker.
(It doesn’t need to be cursive)
4) Start writing!
Tips (you don’t need to do this):
-take breaks
-listen to music
-you don’t need to write perfectly!
Just make sure you understand what you’re writing

I wish I could go back to studying at home but my parents insist on leaving me in a public school, I think it's much better to study at home, besides being more practical and simple you don't get late for classes, or can't take notes fast enough, I'd be homeschooled just fine.

This is really pretty and I would love to do this, but I just know this would distract me to no end. Both while writing as well as when I'm actually studying.
I'm wayyyy too indecisive and slow to decorate my notes any more than just writing some pretty headers. I'd spend more time trying to be creative than actually doing work hahaha

Doctor here! Ive made pretty and colourful notes yes and I get that they make you wanna study more ! But isn't this time consuming? I mean just to write chapter you must have done it in 10-20 mins??
They usually do this once there home and have time rather than at school
High chances that they took regular notes at school, formatted them once they got home, then made the video, so it technically counts as note revision and studying, since they're learning the information as they're writing it

The only reason I can’t do this is because I can’t possibly write fast enough to get everything down and still make it look good.
My advice :
1. In ur lecture write in scribbles just note all the important stuff
2. At home grab ur book rip the page and start again💕make it more “aesthetically pleasing”

good luck!! Sixth grade is a fun one (besides PAT's). The curiculum and units are actually pretty interesting!! Also i suggest still trying to make your school notes neat so theyre readable when you go to redo them at home.

Actually the point of making pretty and aesthetic notes is to paraphrase whatever your writing, so like write about the topic in your own words, and you should be able to understand and memorize whatever you wrote. You should use like one black pen with one highlighter since everything becomes a bit unorganised once you start making EVERYTHING multicolored.
Stationary i recommend using:
• zebra mildliners [highlighter]
• zebra sarasa black pen
• line grid paper [it helped me a lot while taking notes while i was in elementary!!!]
• this isn't stationary but i use a laptop for my school work since it's more appropriate for my age and i get A LOT of work done so maybe you can start using a laptop/maybe an iPad unless your school allows iPads. [Mine doesn't)
• sticky notes
• rulers

guys, i know, these notes are really pretty and stuff, but i bet this might take a few hours to do. you will not really learn while making them, because you'll focuse on the aesthetic grades. just because your notes look great doesnt meanyour grades will be too! good luck with you work and dont put too much time on notes taking, trust me, its not worth it
