I have a Unison Research Unico Nuovo hybrid amplifier with a phono corrector. Tellurium Q Black II and rca Tellurium Q Black II speaker cables. Acoustics of Wharfedale 85th Anniversary Linton. I listen to different music from punk to jazz, from classical to rap, from rock to blues. Both with Qobuz and with SD, LP and HDD. Tell me which DAC to choose. What to choose from the huge variety??? Thanks in advance!
The Chord Mojo 1 or 2 or any DAC by Chord has always beat every DAC in my collection for Audio Nirvana.. You mentioned chord mojo is it the mk2? How was it compared to smsl su1. Honestly, I also got one. I just find it a bit of grain in the lower highs in some recoding. Somewhat raweeshhh. And with dynamics. I hope it's a bit more refined. Hehehehe3 well for 80 usd what's there to complain about. Nice video BTW
There is no comparison. Two different DAC architecture.. All Chord DAC’S are FPGA (Field programmable Gate Array), meaning not off the shelf DAC Chips, completely programmed by hand for each product in the line .. LOOK UP Chord👈 A DAC Master at work👍.. Whereas the SMSL SU-1 utilizes AKM's (Asahi Kasei) power efficient 32Bit AK4493 DAC Chip which is off the shelf, but a very very good performer in the Audio spectrum if utilized correctly .. And it sure was in this little 80buck Eargazmic wonder..AKM is well respected.. But Chord Electronics is far superior in the Audio DAC World and their prices reflects that.. But it all comes down to how that DAC Chip was implemented by the designer as well as each piece of gear in the Audio chain.. Not all gear has synergy together, however the SU-1 holds it’s own against a lot of DAC’s costing 100’s more, and works very well with it’s own company products of course.. If I had the money for a Chord Dave, then I surely wouldn’t buy another DAC for life..🤗 FPGA DAC’s would always be my first choice.. Even over R-2R DAC’s .. Best2You..
@@meutubedou thank you!!! I sold off all my audio gear 2 years ago and slowly getting back now. I’ve had the denafrips ares and that dac is just divine to my ears. So coming back now and wanted to go portable so i am thinking about chord mojo 2 coz it can be portable and the same time can be used to my desktop speaker listening. And su-1 is also a affordable solution for my desktop if that really sounds good. Last question chord mojo is sonically better than the su-1 in all aspects? Or the su-1 will satisfy me coming from a denafrips ares r2r dac. Also thinking about the eversolo dmp-a6 so i can just forget all of those things lol. Just setup and forget kinda thing hahahah Edit: im on iem right now. Done with headphones heheh
