- Ground breaking started today for the $12 billion high-speed passenger rail line between Las Vegas and Southern California.
Brightline West, whose sister company already operates a fast train between Miami and Orlando in Florida, said the electric powered trains will cut the four hour trip across the Mojave desert to a little more than two hours as the trains will travel at a speed of 186 miles per hour.
The tentative goal is to have the line open by 2028, just in time for the summer Olympics in LA.
First time swinging a hammer, eh?
It's symbolic. It's not meant to be hit with full force.
@@nate6045and they failed
Maaaan, you can tell they’re just so awkward with it.. 😆 😆
Can’t wait to see this completed
This news really shocks the other developed countries; that the US still doesn't have a *true* high speed rail in 2024...
Should have been built 20 years ago
Did she really say rancho coo coo munga
Lmao I know wtf is it a joke?
😂😂😂
In rush hour traffic, the most frustrating part of LA to LV car drive is the drive from LA to Rancho Cucamonga. That still stays even after this train!
50 years from now, it will be nearing completion. To the first stop.
Private company. It’ll get done
Anyone giving odds that this will finish on time and on budget? I'd say it will finish 5 years late and double the projected price.
It's a private project so probably near both goals
I’m so excited for this
30k people a day traveling to Vegas every day?!?
Never gonna happen on the Cal side.
Well...we know where the homeless will be.
No you're right, we should just add more highway lanes and keep spending taxpayer money subsidizing expensive air travel, and continue being a third world country forever.
How about let's have something nice for once?
@@AlmightyDude420 My point is that putting the cart before the horse is always a bad idea and when people don't have homes? Why build a train to nowhere?
The homeless can't access the station without a ticket. Staff will boot them off if they try to stay on
There aren't any homeless on amtrak or in airplanes. This will be a gated, ticketed service and operate in much the same way.
What is the price for roundtrip ticket?
All depends how many people use it
$400
@@ETTP.S thnx I will fly out of Ontario instead thnx.
@@biskiers so the price goes up or down what is your point?
@@DaveVargas90012 It goes down over time as more people use it.
It will end up being cheaper than any flight
A trip over two Hours is still long and boring. When will we get a true bullet train or Maglev train?
Don't call em bullet trains.
@redfoe77 You can't expect to run a marathon before you learn to walk. Brightline is positioned as a relatively affordable alternative to gridlock traffic and rising fuel costs. As high-speed rail evolves in the U.S., we’ll gradually attain FASTER & MORE WALLET BUSTING transit. I genuinely hope you are alive and grateful by that time🙏🏾.
Yay!
Las Vegas to LOS ANGELES!
Pointless with people leaving in droves
..✊..
same thing happen to AOL history repeats itself;
This seems familiar 🤔 😕 wait.. just like the speed rail from LA to Frisco that is years overdue and now stopping in Merced. Waste of money since they don't know what they are doing. Springfield monorail at least finished
Brightline’s the same company that’s been operating out of Florida for years now, it’s a total hit. People on that train all the time, high speed rail’s the furthest thing from a waste of money out there that’s why every other decent country’s already got it! Biden and Brightline just catching us up so that we can be the greatest country again ✊🏼🎉 hell I’ll be riding these constantly real soon too, looking forward to it!
@@cameronf3343 Brightline West is fundamentally different to Brightline Florida. There is no guarentee that this will have the same sucess.
Its to Los Angeles no rancho cucanoseque....
Hi speed transpo to the city that smells like sewage and takes your hard earned money.
Can't wait to see this become the epic failure that it is
There’s a difference between private companies that want to make a profit and public agencies that only want the money for themselves. 😊
@MrMarshmallow26 just look at the Las Vegas monorail. It has consistently lost money every year since it's inception, yet the LVCVA buys it? And it continues to lose money ...
The high speed rail is a boondogle of epic proportions, and probably a side effect of the pot proponents from both NV & CA
@@hclvchef Not a good comparison. LVCVA is a government agency. Their goal is not to make a profit using the monorail, but to provide another transportation option for the public. The monorail is about more than making a profit. Brightline West is trying to make a profit, however it doesn’t really matter since they’re backed by investors that own more than just Brightline. Being a private company, they’re going to get the project done or else they would just announce a cancellation of the project, or not build there at all.
@@MrMarshmallow26 Time will tell... if I'm wrong, I'll buy you a beer
@@hclvchef I’m a little doubtful about the project getting done on time. You know how passenger rail projects go in the US. But unlike CAHSR, I’m confident in its service becoming reality.
I hope it's going to link up with Mtro at least, and pity the people of Rancho Cucamonga who will have to put up with all 5he travelers and their long-term parked cars
