- Wanted to share my experience when I bought my Ferrari F430 and some of the things I looked for before purchase - Maintenance, Options and Price.
Be sure to check out the Ferrari Chat Forums (www.ferrarichat.com/forum)
If you do it right, it could only cost you $5,412 for two years of ownership.

that's very inspirational...now I am ready to buy a Ferrari.. all I need is money to buy it..
Great advice. Thank you. Getting the dealer to pay for any fixes and being patient about what you're buying is deff a good point. Often many people pull the trigger to early.
"I take the bus to work anyways" That's super humble.
It's true!
You ever just make a friend on the bus and then they find out you drive a Ferrari? lol
I have a dream to obtain this f430 as well because I have a crush on her because of it's perfect design body shape ! Simplicity is the key to catch your dreams we should never have this superior complexity disorder ! It's good to achieve your dreams but we shouldn't be arrogant towards any sort of person!
I really appreciate your candid and honest take on your experience. While I think you were lucky in not having to do any expensive repairs (suspension, F1 pump, clutch, brakes), you did acknowledge the common issues which was great.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You are right man! choose what you enjoy or what fit your criteria, not buying something you don't like or have to worry about
Thank you for your video. Helps a lot when trying to plan out a purchase of a proper 430.
You are welcome
truly appreciate yr straight talk with no b.s. approach, Thank you! .....in about 6 months, hopefully it's my turn to finally get my dream car--F355,
You are very welcome
Good insight. You give me hope to own an F430 in the future.
invest in (get some) xrp and i promise you will next year
ohhh god don't buy xrp. Bad investment by other person, lol.
@@ShawaebTee this didn‘t age well^^
I totally agree with you...The experience is what counts....many out there may not understand this...when it comes down to it is not status issue it is about that purist feeling...some cars are just a pleasure to drive and you look forwards to driving them..
cls550 is one of them and the s class s65 is another one the experience is just amazing..and I am looking forwards to driving a 430 but I like the gated manual 6...I grew up driving that type of transmission so it is more of a personal choice. Keep up this nice work...
Finally, someone that understands! I hate how cars have become a status symbol.
Thank you, Spoken like a true business consultant with experience ;). I wish there were more videos this detailed regarding ownership/resale. Going to share this video to a few peeps who can also benefit from this. Cheers.
what's the point of letting people know all of this finance stuff when the very people like you who watch the videos will NEVER buy a Ferrari?
Very informative for the inspiring owner and good info on the price variables of ownership. Good to see Massimo @ Dayton working on the car!
Info content is good. Loose the background music. Really.
Great vid.! Refreshing and cool to have ur inside information ;) thanks!
Hey Leviathan thanks for the great video! Was just wondering what the mileage was on your car when you first bought it and when you sold it. Thanks!
Your arms are thicker than my mattress.
Great advice, thanks!
Great guide. Good choice as well. The 650s is defiantly a dream car
Aaayyyeee Mo what up bro
Hey man!
Nice vid, very informative and helpful.
You are welcome :D
Thanks for doing that the video that I requested this maybe my first supercar in a couple years
i am hopping to get a 430 spider with in the next year, like you said need to do your home work, i did have a B M W Z3 2.8 & that move & i got look from people, like your video as well.
Great video
Good info!
Love your stuff dude, maybe you can move your far camera to the passenger side of the front window, thats just my thoughts. Keep it up
Great review Leviathan. I'm actually thinking of trading my 575M Maranello for an F430 so it was informative. Not sure if its the right move, going from a traditional Ferrari front engine V12 to a mid-engine V8 though?
Good advice. PPI + buy from a dealer + watch for F1 pump + clutch. I've always wanted a Ferrari. Bought a Viper GTS and Vette Z07 as supplements, but I haven't given up on my Ferrari dream......................
I didn't not buy directly from Ferrari !
Nicely done.
Great video to the point ! Thanks
You are welcome
Nicely done and very helpful. Thank you. I see you driving a 12C in the video. I'll look to see if you've produced a comment on it.
Its actually a MacLambo 650s :D
The Ferrari F430 is becoming desirable among collectors. Clean, low mileage examples are starting to bring in big money.
Very interesting, great video. The more I see these videos about used exotics in particular with their and maintenance and ownership etc, the more I realize how lucky you people are in North America where you can buy a car like new C7 Corvette Z06 which makes the right sounds, looks the part and supercar performance without breaking the bank. Unfortunately no factory RHD for Down Under :-(. Grey import and RHD conversion means they are similar money to a late model Ferrari or Lambo or McLaren!
Solid review, and great overall thoughts! Selling the 991T for a Rarri!
Thank you!
Good advice. Thx
The dashboard of the car looks amazing, where can I make this change?
What made you trade in the F430 for the Mclaren? I have been in a long mental debate for buying a F430 or a Mclaren 570GT.
Great job with these videos. Really inspiring me to buy one. How can I figure out which car to choose if I've never driven a super car?
It is tough - only a few places will let you test drive the car. However, you can't experience the car in just a 30 min test drive! Alternative option would be renting one for the day.
thank man you are the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very Good videos! I'm subscribed.
Planning to buy F430, any idea how long will the F1 tranny clutch last?
There is one here offering me 2009 F430 with CCB and mileage around 6k miles.
Is f430 reliable? More comfortable than the LP550-2?
(Currently driving some BMW Ms and Lp550-2)
F1 Clutch I believe its 20k miles (verify on the forums)
6K miles - sounds a bit too low for my liking (you might be paying an unnecessary premium for a low mileage)
F430 - I had zero issues with the F430 but thats based on 2.5 years of ownership.
CCB - This was actually standard on the later models
Ferrari F430 was released in 2004 and was priced at $200k + However, Ferrari stopped the production of this car in 2010 because it was said that the 458 Italia is going to replace it.
Looking to buy this model car and great review.. but whats up with the min 5:07 you driving without a door? Was that intentionally or did something happen?
Something unfortunate happened.
What year does this car come in a 6 speed Manuel? If so can I have the name of the car/ transmission
How many miles did you put on the car within those two years?
thanks so much. the video is a great help. do you suggest wrapping the leather seats in sheepskin covers to protect the leather?
I don't think it's necessary!
F430 awesome design in & outside.. 😍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
bro zoom level Is 200% more lol 1st impressions were you like another mr buff Ferrari doosh but some words of wisdom ,honest opinion deff a thumbs up!
Thank you!
You should do a video on the financial part of the car and going through the loan process! Do you finance your cars or pay the full amount? If you finance, for how long? thanks!
If you need to finance a Ferrari, it`s probably not the car for you......
Just my 2 cents....
What if the cost of borrowing is 0%, would you still hold your same argument?
+the.leviathan it would be awesome as most people don't do videos on the financial side of it!
Are there ferraris out there you can get at 0% though?
You never buy an expensive car by taking a loan, you should have a couple of millions cash in the bank as well as investment property and a decent stock portfolio then you buy these cars, and you are safe should anything happen. Use your head, these are toys, they should represent toy budget for people who buy them. I have 750K cash in the bank and I am leaning towards a used F430 black color with yellow calipers.. I have test driven a 458, a 488 spider and love the latest ones. Though I could afford to pay cash for any of them, I will not spend 1/3rd of my hard earned money to buy a 488, maybe I could stretch up to a 458, but want to stay safe. Peace of mind is an important factor while enjoying these cars.
PREACH bro, from a fellow car enthusiast/owner, sick of these bullshit youtube/IG shills....
They're outta control!
um how much did it cost you to restore the infotainment system?
Sweet found an Ontario channel, hopefully I see you around!
+Brandon Abbott there is a good chance
Great video and very informative. Sorry but I have to agree that tuning down the music would certainly improve the video. You could perhaps have highlighted some of the other gotchas you need to look out for when buying an F430.
Well done though.
Noted! Good points
F430 is my fav ferrari
As a f430/ gallardo driver my buyers advice is not to buy an f430. For does who realy consider a f430 then this video is realy accurate! ( sorry for my English).
I’m looking to buy a Ferrari 360 Modena hopefully by beginning of next year but been doing my research and everyone talks about how expensive it is. I think if the car is used for racing then yea it will be expensive, me in the other hand spend my time working everyday and want to experience this beautiful design of a car on my days off on a weekly basis which I’m calculating my way of taking care of a vehicle to come less expensive...hopefully. What are your thoughts on that and what do you recommend for someone who wants a car like this and for low usage. It’d be my trophy vehicle that I’ve dreamed of for years and finally gonna be able to get it. Just doing my homework on it and wanting to hear it from someone who has experience with a ferrari 360 or 430 and see what’s the difference
What is your heart set at? After doing my research I opted for an older F430 than a newer 360.
Dude, I'm between importing an f430 euro spec, and getting an amg gts. What is holding me back from the easier option (amg gts), is that although more practical for everyday, I don't think it will be as exciting. Currently in europe and f430 goes for about 80-95k euros. Do you think this is basically the bottom of the curve and does it have any potential to start ticking upward like the 360 modena has been in last couple years? Out of the two which would you pick if concerning experience vs reliability?
The F430 is definitely an experience you wont get with the AMG GTS. I actually did drive the AMG GTS and while it was an incredible car, it falls a bit short of the Ferrari experience. I personally would opt for an Aston V8V over the GTS (just my opinion). When it comes to the curve, it really comes down to where exactly you live. But lets be real here, if you could drive a Ferrari for 2 years at no cost, does it really matter if it starts ticking upward? I just dont think that should a big point to really worry about. No one can really predict the market, although people seem to be very confident that they can.
I had no issues with reliability, but it would be best to read through the forums to get a better sample.
Good luck with your purchase! Let me know what you decide, and be sure to check out my other videos. I did do a VLOG style video with the GTS.
Yea I agree with you. I guess my point of price curve is more of a "buy at the bottom vs buy brand new and incur the loss of value". It's true the v8 directly behind you and aggressive gear change is an experience, I'd agree with you on the Aston apart from the reliability aspect i've heard many speak of.
What is the background music called?
Which work he does ???? Pls
mad respect man, cant beleive you still take the bus everyday.
Driving in the city is just not fun! Check out the ride along video (in McLaren)
the.leviathan just did haha great stuff. driving in the city isn't fun, especially when you worried about your supercar!
Would this work in 2024?
What made you get a coupe vs a spider for the F430?
Price!
How much did you buy your 650S for?
Why the hell am I watching this when I'm planning to buy a max. 3000$ car :(
Right, I'm a broke college student
Notorious HZ *highfive*
same except like 10k
Thoughts become things :)
Informative video, but "ultimate" is a bit extreme. You mentioned the clutch and F1 pump as concerns. But didn't mention the engine mount brackets. Woulda been helpful to have the full perspective if you want the "ultimate" title, cause now I'm fearing I might not buy that f430 since I don't have enough confidence from this vid. Damn, I really wanted to buy one ;)
The brackets I consider to be a wear and tear item and not a major or common problem (based on my analysis). I did mention getting the car inspected prior to purchase in order to check for misc. items. Another common issue is the headers, which were usually done under warranty (assuming the car was driven enough) so that is why its not mentioned. If you are really interested in the F430, I would go through the Ferrari forums to get a sense of what some of the common problems are.
why do you still have the airbag warning on the car
Thinking about buying an F430 or a Gallardo. But I want a manual so Gallardo seems more likely.
If you want to spend the premium on a manual.
I have a supercharged NSX but this is my next dream car to get. Just dont know if I should sell the nsx yo get close to that goal.
Let me review the supercharged NSX!
the.leviathan I am completely up for that. I won't be available to meet up for another 3 months being busy with work but in 3 months I will be available and by then the car will have the lift system to make it easy to raise for speedbumps and curbs.
cool vid. i wish the f430 6 speed manuals were not $20k greater. in some cases ive seen $50k+ goal is a f430 in 1-2 years. of course red!
Please not red
is 110 CDN or USD?
I'm paying the same price but driving a Maserati Coupe with F1 and F136 block
I have not seen a Ferrari PPI less then $400.00 and I have seen them at $2500.00 here in Southern California. The manuals can go for $200,000. I get my insurance through Hagerty. I think the 430 is your best bang for the buck in used Ferrari’s.
That's what I paid for a PPI - Daytona Motorsports did it for me.
They did a compression test, leak down test, took off the tires and measured the breaks, clutch, did a computer test and overall inspection of exterior, engine bay, exhaust and interior function. All that takes time to do thoroughly.
So i am looking to buy a F430, Did you pay cash or get a loan with down payment? i can do either. But why tie up cash if i don't have too.
Congrats on buying the car man ! I hope to be able to say that I'm going to purchase one soon as well haha ! I'd reccomend checking out the audi R8 though, it's an great daily supercar and repairs/maintanance are pretty cheap.
if you ask that question you simply cannot afford it.
Duder, did you pay cash on the $110k or finance it through a bank/dealer?
Been looking for info on purchasing something between $100-150k and all the forums refer to the opportunities in the USA. Finding Canada-specific info on older vehicles (older than 7 years) is like pulling teeth.
This video was great, very informative. Makes it seem like even more of a no-brainer to get into one (or comparable price range car). They've def gone up since you got yours :P
Should have kept it. What specific information are you looking for?
@@theleviathan0 did you buy the car all cash or did a dealer finance your F430?
From when I was chatting with a dealer finance person they said it's harder to finance cars older than 7 years. Then they want to keep pushing a lease which I dont know how to feel about
Prefer in direct message you can DM on Instagram. But if you own a home you can use a secure line of credit.
@@theleviathan0 oh yes I can DM you. I totally understand! Will pop it over there
how tall are you and would a 6'5 guy slim for in the 430
fit in the 430*
so its basically like leasing but leasing used vehicles
What are the monthly insurance costs for an F430?
MSFerrari248F1 Why would you insure a Ferrari? If you crash while racing just buy another one they're cheap just like 200k
Where's your door at 5.04?
+Mopar 70 you should watch my other videos
ruclips.net/video/1Cd3FEbE3sc/видео.html
Leviathan you should change the intro of the Ferrari driving of a building and getting wrapped by a dragon to that with the mclaren since you have a mclaren now
I actually have a video in the works explaining why NOT! lol :D
This was a great informative video! You blatantly showed us the beauty of owning a Ferrari!
If only this guide affected me 😒 I'll keep dreaming
Would you advise saving up and pay the car fully yourself or rely on a loan from the bank to buy one?
Multiple factors to consider - cost of borrowing, purchase price, loan term, loan payments, your financial situation, your goals etc etc.
Alright, thank you! I'm looking to buy a new house at the moment and wondering if I should cut a little out of the budget to buy myself a nice car once the house-buying process is finished OR use my current budget completely for the house and take a loan for a nice car afterwards.
By the way: keep making your videos man, I've been enjoying them for quite some time now!
Why can't you just save money and then buy a car. Taking out a loan for a car is the dumbest thing you can do....ever.
That's not really true... For example: I have 50K saved up and want to buy a car for 40K. If I pay it cash I lose 4/5 of my budget. I feel more comfortable taking out a loan in that case. Ok I lose some money on interest, but I still have my own money at my disposal if something happens to me, if I need quick cash or if I want to invest in something that brings me money. I'd rather have something to react to the unexpected...
It would be very dumb spending 40K on a car if you have 50K in the bank. I would only pay cash on cheap daily cars (
gillmaes If you have 50k saved you are not gonna buy a car for 40k, 25k will do just as fine. Do what you want but taking a loan for a car is not smart from a financial point. In my country people declare the ones who take out loans for cars crazy and only the really poor do it if they get a loan. I'm from Holland btw.
F430 vs 650s? I’m deciding between the two
430
how many km's did you put on your lamborghini mustang?
I honestly didnt really pay attention to it. I think about 15,000 = 20,000 kms
+the.leviathan kk thanks
Do you even lift bro?
How much does car insurance cost on an F430?
1,000- 20,000 depending on YOU
How many miles did you put on her in 1 year?
Too much to count ;)
the.leviathan yes right👌
For once, honesty !
damn man do you take anabolics?
Just chocolate milk
the.leviathan probably :D
So yes
No. Happy to talk about my training in a vlog video, although this was supposed to be a car channel!
the.leviathan alright man :P
Omg. Are you still uploading the F430 contents?
I am just looking back and sharing my experience to demonstrate that the Ferrari F430 is an attainable car provided you look for the right things.
+the.leviathan nice!🤘
Is your Ferrari manual
Watch more videos to find out!
The F430 is much better than previous mid-engine V8 model. So many bloggers say stay away from the F355 and 360 models. Way too much upkeep! Another blogger suggest spend a few dollars more and buy a front-engine V12 model. Not only are they faster but has real user friendly trunk room and are little bit cheaper to insure because mid-engine Ferraris are prone to catastrophic engine fires! Front engine models are cheaper to repair and maintain vs mid-engine.
I understand - but to me the V12s are a very different driving experience, which is why I went with F430. To be honest, the F430 is a solid car, with very little maintenance issues. The repair work required is pretty standard and well known, given the long history of the car. But I get your point!
Yeah but there's no substitute for the handling/steering feel of a mid engine car AND seeing that engine through glass is a work of art 🙄 .... nothing against front engine v12's or California's v8's ... just my opinion . And yeah 355's are an engine out clutch job $$$ , they sound spectacular though lol
Would this car fit tall guys?
Try the spyder :D
So why did you get a 650S? :) I chose the 458, after test driving them both it was an easy choice!!! So trade it in as quickly as you can!!!
Check out my video Ferrari vs McLaren. For me the 650s was the easy choice!
We all have different tastes in life!!! I have owned four Ferraris and I have never bought them at a Ferrari dealership!! So maybe you would get better treatment at another dealer?? Most important thing is that you are happy about your choice!! But don´t let one dealership ruin Ferrari for you!!
For sure, I would never let a dealership sway me from a car. There was just something about the 650s that made the kid inside me happy.
Awesome!! The 458 sounds better though ;)
What is the average pay for these cars if I want to pay as monthly installments....
+KHRN Star it's a simple calculation depending on value interest and term
how you buy a f430 for 5k where do you live
I think you need to re-watch the video
I like your channel overall, particularly your reaction videos. The content is good, but could be made better if you were to script a little bit less of what you say (bullet points, and you just say what you feel), as it does feel a bit scripted (memorized) vs. other great car vloggers.
Was trying to be objective not subjective in this video. Next week I will be publishing a vlog talking about how other cars made me feel (Aventador, 458, 488, Huracan, 675LT) and why I went with the 650s.
you are doing a great job, the first guy is wrong. just fyi.
why your F430 interior is much different from what I sat before.
Anthony lim he's in a mclaren
You never thought of Aston Martin?
I had an Aston before the F430!
the.leviathan right on man. I'm a big fan. I just picked up my dream car on a budget, a 2005 Slk350 six speed stick. It's also a hard top convertible and was the most I can afford right now. Very interested in the new vantage coming out! What did you think of yours?
Congrats!! I loved the Aston, it was an incredible driving experience, I also had 6 speed stick!
Yo we have the same blue Brita water bottle :P
It's nice having a cup holder!
Alhamdulillah :)
The manifolds crack as well. That'll cost you way more than a pump..
Correct
1:50 a ferrari dealership will probably ask for your first What?
.first born (child...and probably second and third as well!)
people don't really use this cars as daily drivers.
