I did the Manaslu trek in late Oct/early Nov this year and was really surprised to see the larches (I live in the PNW and enjoy the early October larch madness, so I am pretty sure they are a larch variety) coming out of Shyala into Samagoan. Cool to see inside that temple that is getting finished. There wasn't anyone around and it was locked when we checked it out. Hope you had a great trek! We did.

Beautiful as always. I hope Dori realizes how fortunate he is to get to experience such an amazing journey with such incredible company.

I just can’t get over the colors that are just stunning. I totally agree about group hiking which is why I can’t do it for the most part. It’s tough to go slow when you want to move faster. Like you say though you don’t have a choice if you need to have a guide. I’m sure paying for a private guide is super expensive. Beautiful as always and happy trails.🤟🏻🥾🏔

Yeah the group hiking definitely had its pros and cons - wouldn’t wanna do it all the time - but I will say it was super fun to have built-in friends! So even though the pace was a little maddening it was overall a still very positive experience! Happy trails to you, too! I see you’re getting after it as always. 😄

I’m all caught up. What an adventure. Monkeys, yaks, cows, goats and plenty of dogs. Beautiful waterfalls, mountain peaks and the most suspension bridges I’ve ever seen Lol. Those did look like the Larches I’ve seen in the PNW so that would be my guess. The slow pace would bother me as well but nothing you can do about that! Thanks for sharing.

Ah okay thanks for sharing about the larches! I thought they must be but I don’t think I’ve seen them in person before and no one seemed to know!

Good video. The short steps made me laugh. Reminded me of hiking with a bunch of 12 year old Boy Scouts(I was 53). I usually, scouted ahead. By the time they were 17, I couldn't keep up with them. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick

Thanks, Rick! Haha that's like when I could finally beat my dad biking around the lake at the local state park that we used to. I was so smug about it! I bet those boy scouts were too. Now I'm just waiting for my nieces to do the same thing to me.... 😂

I'm definitely not a larch expert, but those sure look like larches to me. Deciduous conifers are not all that common and they have the right structure. That's so cool that you got to see them in autumn colors.

I thought so too but I don't know if I've ever seen larches in person before so I wasn't sure, and the guides didn't know!
