Great meeting you in Shenandoah! Cheering you on in this attempt, and glad you got to the bottom of what had you feeling off! Totally get the isolation of hiking in the opposite direction. My first week after flipping felt so wrong never seeing faces a second time.
Finally an interesting new channel drop on my absolutely pathetic RUclips algorithm feed! Sending you great compassion buddy, your raw share about what you see as failure is nothing but great healing. I wish you well. ❤
Thank you! It was a tough video to put out but I think people are tired of all the garbage out there today and just want real people. I know that’s what I watch and I believe it’s why the more raw adventure/travel channels are beginning to gain popularity.
I'm glad you found the reason for your feeling bad. Don't feel you failed. You got experience, found out a lot about yourself and your body to make yourself and your next hike even better. Happy hiking.
Was just thinking about you and so happy to hear you are going for another attempt. Third time is a charm and as long as you are in the right mind set, youve got this. Best wishes!
Good luck, and congrats on kicking addictions. I just quit nicotine a month ago, and have probably gained 10lbs already. But, I feel better. I wasn’t recovering very well when using nicotine because I wasn’t hungry. I track my HRV, and it had gotten all out of whack as well. Now, it’s back in the normal range.
Why do you want to hike the Appalachian Trail? Sometimes the why helps you during the tough times. Also, if you have this vision of a NOBO hike, it's going to change a little in 2025 as towns and trails are still recovering from the Hurricane Helene damage. Hope you get the time and space to heal and accomplish your goals.
Thru hiking isn’t what some folks crack it up to be. It can be boring AF. It’s just hiking really. When did it become such a big deal kinda thing? Hiking, really?
It can be and often is. But it also gives you the most rewarding experiences you will ever have. It's like everything in life except the lows are much lower and the highs much higher. Kind of like a drug.
I worked seasonal jobs for years and saved as much as I could. I live simple and stay out of debt. But a lot of 60-70 hour weeks were put in during summer and winter.

As everyone else has said… it’s not a failure! Especially since you learned so much!
I’m starting in March - see ya out there!
Thank you for the explanation. Glad you got the issue figured out some and good luck on 2025!
Thank you! I appreciate the support.
Looking forward to seeing your journey and will be here to support every step of the way!
Awesome! Thank you!
Appreciate the "ride along". i enjoyed following your journey and your insights along the way. Best of fortune in 2025!
Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it means a lot. Hopefully I can get it done this time.
Great video! No worries. Great attempt. New follower. ✌️
Thank you! I appreciate that.
If your first thru-hike led to you kicking two addictions, then it was a huge success, not a failure.
It’s been a year with a lot of personal growth for sure.
@ You can be proud. 💪
Good to see you back and good luck on your 2025 AT journey. 3rd time’s the charm hopefully 🙂.
I hope so.
Nice, will be watching your fresh attempt here from the UK
Hope you enjoy!

Nice! Like I said in previous vid comments, I’m starting March 1. Not the “ideal” date, but…#LFG

Sometimes you just have to go. Good luck and maybe I will see you out there.

Yes sir got the name changed thing! You got it this time my friend
Yeah buddy!
Good for you man, get your headspace and timing down and maybe we’ll see ya on the trail, I don’t start until 29 March. “Let do it”
Thank you! February and March are approaching quickly. Good luck to you.
Sorry your hike didn't work out the way you hoped the first time. Wishing you all the best on trail in 2025 ✊
Thank you, it means a lot!
I went thru the same experience in 2022. It’s hard to get over the sense of failure. I’m still dealing with it.
I think your backpacking experience from 2024 will enable you to succeed in 2025. I can't wait to follow you....
I agree. Thanks for watching.
I'll be honest, this video is why i just subscribed to your channel. I dont think you should feel embarrassed, or that you failed at ALL.
Thanks for following along! I know I am hard on myself. Hopefully I can achieve my goal this time.
Always next time. PS those pants are rad. Who makes them!?
Made by Kuhl. They are my go to for travel and the outdoors. Checked the tags and couldn’t find the exact style.

Nicotine is a tough one. The weight is only a temporary side effect.

Thank you! I will definitely keep my reasons close for those tough days.
Nothing special.
I’ve quit The AT 53 times.
My problem is I keep going back.
Every hike has been an adventure.

Yeah I agree, most days are boring and just putting in the grind. Sometimes in life you just have to push through.

How do you afford your travelling?

A trail is a trail ! There's s lifetime tailor made for experiments ! 🌿
Carpe Diem young man. Carpe Diem!!!
