Just found your channel and yes I subbed. First off I love your personality and as a black woman myself, it's nice to just see a regular black woman who's not pandering to a certain audience. We know who that audience is. You just give the facts and some opinions and present everything in a really chill manner. I LOVE IT. I also like that you're objective. You don't harp on your personal opinions or the popular narrative. You explore all sides. Now to the question of Angel Reese. I think she's young. I'm 34, college grad, former athlete, been there done that. I think she got money, notoriety and fame all at once really quickly. That would be a lot for any college kid. I absolutely LOVE Kim Mulkey even when she was at Baylor. She is not gonna mince words and she doesn't allow the media to sway her. I think Angel didn't make the trip because coach said stay home. Probably something in the background stemming from her getting benched or the Twitter beef. But I'm sure they had a conversation and coach probably said sit this one out and get yourself together. People need to let Coach Mulkey do her thing. She knows how to handle whatever is going on with Angel. She kicked Alexis Morris off the team at Baylor and that made her reevaluate what she really wanted to do and came back a stronger person and player. Give Angel a break, she's a 21 year old and will make mistakes. The only problem would be if she refuses to LEARN from her mistakes.
When she's ready, Angel may tell us what's going on in her life. We need to give her a chance to clear the air and stop the speculation. Its only hurting the team. The parents do need to step up and resolve their issues face to face and stop fueling the social hysteria. This makes WBB look bad.

Former High Major D1 Athlete and Dean’s list student here. GPA isn’t the reason, if it was the case she couldn’t have played any games so far. Disciplinary issues are probably the reason why the team suspended her. It’s that simple. But my biggest point is the one you’ve made at the end, she and the other NCAAW players, are just CHILDREN. And people are insulting this kid, it’s wild. I hope LSU will resolve that. It could be a blessing in disguise for them and help them become a dangerous team.
Kid??? This kid wanted the exposure. This kid has made over a million because of this kid's fame. These so-called children are now running businesses not just playing a sport anymore. If you want it do it but don't cry if things get tough. I am not saying she is crying and none of us know what is going on. If you don't think the college game has changed then you are wrong. The old days of kids and playing for your school have changed it's now a business and this is what it is now. I love Angel Reese and know she will be fine.

I doubt it has anything to do with academics. If I'm not mistaken, LSU school year is based on semesters which means the midterm is in mid October. If there were any issues academically, the suspension would have happened prior 2 the season starting. How about we stop the negativity and pray the young lady gets pass the issues successfully
Don't know the true narrative, but this is how it looks to me: Angel Reese transfers from Maryland because she needs a coach who will challenger her. Kind of a backhanded insult to a NCAA championship coach, but ok. She gets to LSU, and they play a mid schedule in 2022-23, getting blown out by South Carolina. LSU makes their run in March, and wins the NCAA, and Angel's first act as champions is to disrespect one of the legendary current women's players. Then she spends the summer signing NIL deals and hanging out with celebrities. Now it's fall 2023, and Hollywood Angel has to return to LSU and slum it on campus. Not only does she have to return to the grind of classes, but she now has imported superstars to compete with in HVL and Aneesah Morrow. She is not queen bee anymore. LSU loses to Colorado, and Angel is one of the players getting called out. She doesn't like it. It all has an "I'm better than all this" vibe. Bad play continues against Kent State, and Angel gets benched. LSU wins big without her. Now Kim Mulkey has leverage. They can win without Angel, so Angel gets the "shape up or ship out" message. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
On point; all these social media “fabulous”, immature, intellectually challenged young people making six and even seven digits kind of money was not going to end well. We all saw this coming, even before last season was over.
Let me say this, all of the players, staff, and current and former players should keep quiet. If this is in the house, then it should remain there. Now, as far as Alexis Morris, she should be focusing on her pro career instead of instigating and stirring drama amongst the current players on this squad. If a current player is confiding in you with information, why would you take it on IG live and add fuel to the fire. Very shady and classless of her to do that. As far as Angel, Fla'Jae, and coach Mulkey, they need to come get together and hatch this out. Stop letting outsiders paint this narrative as to what they think is going on with the program. Fix it, and let's move on!
If i were Alexis i would focus on my pro career. She already messed up with the comment she made about the Women in the league, it never sat well with them and hence she ended up being attacked by the WNBA (women). She had to apologize and so on. She thinks she’s try to be smart instead she’s just tarnishing her name again. Even if she has chances of coming back and playing in the W here in her country,some teams won’t give her that chance. They will (1) remember what she said about them, (2) they will also remember how tried to bring her former team down. They’ll be scared of her because of her mouth.
I know that Alexis feels some time of way of which i understand and it’s normal she feels like she never got the credit like Angel and Flaujae. But such is life we all have different destinies n God blesses pipo in different ways. Every team has that one or two people who are the face /s of that program & in this case, LSU has Angel & Flaujae but that doesn’t mean the others are not good players nope. During the season people were talking abt Angel and Flaujae but we so what happened during the final game. God was like it’s time for others to shine as well and they did & after that everyone was talking about Alexis, Jazz and the other guys.

This was my worst fear as an LSU superfan this season. That it would go to folks heads, and the the big headed veterans would ruin the vibe for ALL the wonderful talent we brought in. What I fear, is this is the beginning of the influence from NIL contracts. Thinking too much on those things and not keeping your head in the game. I hope it doesn't ruin the game and the players.

Money talks, the athletes have a short life in sports. As a former athlete, I've always stayed that we were prostitutes for these universities. We have got to be better managers of our craft and complete the task of receiving the degree to complete the goal of obtaining the degree. A professional career isn't guaranteed

I had a fear of this happening. Also I think the whole NIL deals are getting out of hand at LSU. Money is the root of all evil and when you start shoveling tons of money to these colleges kids everything else becomes secondary and enters the problems. Whatever is happening behind the scenes I will say the coach is going to fail those kids if she doesn’t step in and install class and discipline into these young ladies, if she is letting money interfere with their college education and sports talent’s then LSU is in for a rude awaking. Grind daily flex occasionally. We don’t know Angel but the sense is that this off-season she did the opposite…flexed daily and grinded occasionally. Hopefully all is well personally and LSU still has 3-plus months to correct the situation. Huge lesson learned. 12 days in and this season has had a year’s worth of craziness already!
My buddy in high school was recruited by several college hoops teams -- our school's coach always told him, "Remember, the college scouts aren't just watching when you score -- they're watching how you sit on the bench, how you walk to the bench, how you react when the other team scores, how you react when your team loses."

She’s such a trending topic for college wbb and rightfully so but it’s bringing in haters who don’t even respect what she and all of these women do.

WOW. I am terribly disappointed about this situation...but I am not surprised, not totally. I had hoped that when the team practices and the season began, Angel would be able to flip a switch and focus on basketball...and the TEAM. Still, I was always concerned that there would be drama with all the big name players, but I thought if anyone could manage all the personalities, it would be Kim Mulkey, but this serves as a reminder that this is a new generation of players, some of whom give ZERO f**ks about authority. Speaking of authority, Mulkey and her staff should have reined Angel in as far back as the White House situation. Lastly, the situation with the mothers' dueling social media posts is BANANAS. Bottom line: They ALL need to say less. I could say more, but I won't.

Thank you for the professional, non uber hyperbole; Prisoner Of The Moment, utter speculation driven presentations we've seen from so many other channels. I have no idea what's going on. But like I said before, it could be academic probation based on those family tweets; Mulkeys comments before SE Louisiana, and the fact Angel didn't travel to a "local game". We'll see? All the drama (whatever is), doesn't necessarily have to hurt the team, it can make them stronger actually (both mentally; through more effective coaching, and playing time for others if Angel is gone for whatever reason). I agree. Angel and LSU, receivers a lot of crazy undue criticism. And besides them winning last year (and that made up brouhaha with the Hand). It appears many female basketball fans are not used to a certain spotlight, and take their sports ultra aggressively, even when what's discussed has no facts, analysis, or history behind it. as if we're talking/listening to 8 yr olds. But then again, that's social media in a nutshell, and many of us take it too seriously, as if it's reality, and it's not! Just look how that total non even between Reese and Caitlin Clark, was instigated on social media by two famous (no doubt Bandwagon) Caitlin Clark/Iowa fans, when no one noticed or discussed the Hand Non Event during the game; the post game show, or the analyst comments after the on the court post game show! It was a big/Total Nothing Burger. However, many (on both sides) were led to absolute bedlam and insanity by "repping" their team or players for a total non event that we've seen countless times in sports, which caused no shouting matches; altercations; excessive shoving; obstruction; gesticulation or fights. Absolutely none (either before; during or after the game)! But corporate media eventually covered it (as an excuse/proxy), when Keith Olberman and Dave Portnoy of Barstool criticized Angel Reese (no doubt due to their frustration in Iowa losing, after media told them they were going to win) for a total non event. Even now, after 6 months of reflection, some crazy SC and Iowa fans, bring up "The Hand" non event gesture, as justification to hate Angel Reese, and/or call her "Ghetto" and other sundry monikers (as you noted), many times contradicting themselves or the team or players that they root for themselves with no self awareness what so ever! Unfrickinbelievable! You can't make this up!
Social media can be the worst, Angel is an awesome player, I don’t know here personally or what kind of person she is, I do think she needs to work on her attitude when playing and being interviewed, she has so many young girls out there that she’s setting an example for. I really hope whatever is going on, soon she will return to the team.

This situation is a mess, whatever it is. I have to think that LSU will get it together by the new year and this whole situation will be a footnote. My unsubstantiated prediction is that Angel got into a physical altercation with a teammate/Kim. No evidence on that, just where my mind is right now. Angel Reese is a talented player and I believe she’ll be back in it before too long.
This whole situation is messed up i wish the moms didn’t bring the issue on the internet. Which parent will want their child to commit at LSU after all this? Let’s be honest! The mother of FlauJae went overboard and the hood dozens was really uncalled for but we as a people don't know how to set aside nonsense and keep making them dollars. She act like she made Angel Reese I thought Angel had an agent when she came to LSU. That tweet gave me the impression from her that's FlauJae's mom has been the one getting Reese all her NIL deals and making her wealthy kinda odd...guess she can put her back in the po house. Then fronting her about her grades that was foul as it gets. If Reese is smart she'd turn over the team to FlauJae because it's no need in getting your character assassinated over some NIL deals. I'm like this chick if you can rock NIL better than me you can have my chair. I'd turn in my uniform on Monday team up with Shaq for an ambassador job and keep it moving if I were her. I think coach Mulkey benched her in early in that game for shooting that 3...coach probably told her not to do that (she always misses them..)...she shot it anyway. Got benched right after..then some crazy blowout happened in locker room at half time.
This is what i was thinking too. Coach must have told her not to shoot those three and the first thing she did was to shoot the 3. Then maybe couch was like not today. She tried about 3 if not 4 three pointer and missed them all in the first half. Then second half came and she never played.
Whatever is happening I hope Angel Reese is well and taking care of herself. Some people want to see her fail so bad. It’s weird. I wish the coach would have said it was for mental health reasons to quiet the monsters down. Is it possible that a 21 year old young lady's ego may have got the best of her, yeah. The pressure and hate being sent her way is tough to navigate. She got thrust into the limelight and has had money and fame of an insurmountable level, while in college. I think people forget she is in college. I have taught at the college level for years, and it is not uncommon for students, who are not millionaires with insane schedules to melt down. I get its hard for the public at large to empathize because she is making money and her public persona is the bad girl image, but at the end of the day, she is really young and probably struggling privately to handle it all. I wish the moms and coaches and teammates and former teammates would take a step back and give a little grace and look for ways to help her get grounded. In my opinion, the amount of hate and jealously is not deserved because she is a fierce competitor. If most of us were thrust into the spotlight at that age, would we be able to flawlessly navigate it? There are grown men in every league blowning it all the time, how about we give a little grace. I'm all for trash talking her game on the court, but I think it's tasteless to revel in her struggles off court and in her personal life.
Lost of excuses and “give grace” in your take. Agree that our young people still have a lot to learn and when young we all do stupid stuff. At the same time, even before she got all this notoriety, we have been hearing about her lack of humbleness and tendency to run her mouth, so that’s who she is. As a parent of two D1 athletes with some success in their respective sports since they were little, something we made sure as parents my wife and I was to teach them that their talent was a gift and that respect, staying humble and to be respectful of coaches, teammates rival and officials at all times was a “must”. They learned that at home. So “to give her grace”??, we can do some of that, but there is a limit, as I know from personal experience that many young talented athletes do not behave that way.
Some good points in your analysis. But I’m glad we didn’t hear “mental health”. Mental health issues are very serious and shouldn’t be confused by things such as ego and personal responsibility and so on. I’m not saying don’t feel sympathy for Angel but if it’s not real mental issues, let’s not sue the term.

Not everyone handles pressure the same, and it is my hope that she doesnt break under all the scrutiny and hopefully there are some level heads that can provide the guidance she needs.
@@written12 Grades, celebrity, school, athletics and social media can all contribute to poor mental health and many people balk at the idea that all that pressure can cause poor behavior. Having issues with ego and anxiety and stress can all fall under than umbrella. Needing a break to deal with the pressure can be a mental health break. So I believe it would be ok to use the term.

If grades were the issue she would’ve been out of the Kent game. The fact that she was benched the entire second half and gone the next game is an attitude adjustment or she broke a rule

I'm praying for the best results here. No student athlete knows how to properly navigate things this early in life. PPl can say what they want or feel about Angel Reese all day long, but when reality and the facts are brought to the table a couple major things gone stand out. She might of blew up over night if you look at it that way, but she made an IMPACT and STAND that will last forever. How many ppl can say they did that? PPL may say and believe she is "overrated" as a basketball player, But she damn for sure is "Underrated" as a human being. Got to give props when they are due, Angel Reese made an Impact for women sports that is rarely matched. Alot of female athletes will benefit because of her actions. LSU is a powerful team with AR and without her. Morrow is a beast and the others can really play because they are coachable. As a former academic D1 athlete in 2 sports my focus was an education and I worked 40 hours fifty years ago. I made it in 4 years with double major and double minor on the Dean’s list. I know one of the young ladies on the team and this is how I met Kim Mulkey and she does not play with the players. I have followed her whole career and she knows how to win. Money changes people in several different ways. To become effective in your skill you must practice. Her mother needs to stay off of social media and the same for other parents. I hope and pray they get this settled very soon but I don't think they will have a chance to repeat with turmoil.
The most overlooked detail in this drama are the Moms, cause if they don't start it... Alexis and Jasmine don't chime in, like I said on your last livestream Quita, "they will blame Kim" ...and that's exactly what's happening.

When she acted the way she did in the national championship when she wasn't even a factor to act the way she did and many blacks come to her side to make it a racial issue instead of holding her accountable about how to act and molding her in a positive way. They made it OK in her eyes that she can do no wrong and that she's bigger than she actually is. If it was my daughter I would've on her ass on the court. But this is the outcome.

For a basketball fan (especially UConn), it's really sad that the reigning champions are being talked about for facts that don't directly concern the court. Even though I don't particularly follow the events of other teams, I don't remember a situation like this. I miss Pat Summit, who always set an example for the coaches. Quita had some difficulty addressing the topic, but she was balanced

And for that game we have Pat Summitt to thank for agreeing to face UConn on the road, when no other team had accepted. And she did it for the good of the game. Very classy woman
as a longtime bb fan I just started watching womens bb. last years iowa team was so much fun for us hawks fans. the last game was disappointment but not total disappointment. being interested in this year I watched a LSU game and soon realized that they dont really need angel to be a great team. they added at least two players that are fantastic. we will see what happens
I said it before and will say it again: NIL, as it's currently constructed, will ruin college sports as we know it. Players should be paid equal amounts directly from their universities rather than through NIL deals and corporate sponsors. Some NIL deals, such as Celeb Williams', are more money than most D1 football coaches' salaries. With the amount of money involved in some of these NIL deals, it's impossible for a 19- or 20-year-old not to think they are more important than the team. I'm not saying this is the case with Angel Reese because I don't know what's going on with LSU Women's Basketball, but I wouldn't be surprised.
She is young, but who said life is fair. People are mostly making comments because it makes people angry that someone with more talent than them appears to be throwing it away. It upset me that Caitlin Clark can’t hit a shot. The other thing is people are angry that the players should be happy people are watching women’s basketball now. I find it much more interesting than the men. Also, she is a professional athlete by my definition.
As a former BiG Ten faculty rep, I can tell you that grades get sorted out BEFORE the season starts… they had to report to conference what the grades and credits are before anybody can play.
@@QuitaLovesSports Compliance Officer checks at beginning of each semester (or quarter for schools on quarter system like Northwestern, Stanford, UCLA, Oregon State) for 2 things… does student athlete have required GPA and does s/he have enough credits. My own granddaughter was basketball player at UCLA and was 1 credit short her final quarter. Fortunately I knew some colleagues there and got one to offer her a one credit independent study. They became longtime friends and he continues to follow her WNBA career and off season international play.

However, based off what's happened and what we're hearing. It appears Angel may be under academic probation and suspension of some sorts? This is especially true, when you think about the nature of the purported tweets between family members discussing Angel Reese's GPA (as if other family members are disappointed that Angel Reese may have let down her team). In addition, there was speculation that Angel and Fla'jae were involved. So, though there may be an academic issue. Flau'jaes mom could of had that response, if she and her daughter had a messy situation? Any who: Regardless, of the reasons. If Reese can come back this season, her being out can actually help the team in the long run, as as Mulkey was already seemingly having a hard time trying to shoehorn so many talented players that deserved time and their roles. Having Angel on the sideline for some time being, can give others more confidence and experience in the line up/with Mulkey, that they wouldn't have with Angel sucking up 30-35 min game. That sorta confidence and role playing will be needed if they are to repeat as National Champions.Mulkey were trying shoehorn different roles in the first place. We'll see how this all plays out, and (once again) AR and the LSU women are giving women's basketball-like it or not- way more publicity than it would have gotten otherwise.
There must have been something that happened prior to mama Kia responding to mama Angel’s msg. The unfortunate part is that the msg was directed to some guy who has been in mama Angel’s dm that’s why mama Angel said in her msg that you wrote all that just to say nothing, meaning just go straight to the point. She even said the next day that and i quote” i think he saw the msg and decided not to text today” meaning the man who has been sending her msgs.

In short she was telling the man why does he have to write an essay in the end doesn’t even say exactly what he wants. From reading these comments, I can tell this young lady had so many haters before this incident occurred, and their just using this situation as occasion to let it all out. Iowa is the most popular team "on Earth." Most of those millions of people watching the championship game were cheering for the Hawkeyes. All their games increased attendance in every arena and on television. Nobody cared about LSU until the final four. I do congratulate them on their championship. They played a good game that day.

My opinion: She spent too much time doing NIL stuff, posing, modeling and not enough time in the classroom, study hall, and maybe not enough concentration on basketball. Yes, I do think NIL is not a good influence at times. That's the negative part of NIL, in my opinion. The kicker is that she can't make the $ she's been making without being enrolled. I live in BR. I am close to members of the team. And I will say this. Fame and fortune HAS gone to Angels head. Her priorities are all out of wack. She does not have to go to class like normal student-athletes. She is supposed to be taking online courses like all normal student-athletes. Is she...I dont know. Former High Major D1 Athlete and Dean’s list student here. GPA isn’t the reason, if it was the case she couldn’t have played any games so far. Disciplinary issues are probably the reason why the team suspended her. It’s that simple. But my biggest point is the one you’ve made at the end, she and the other NCAAW players, are just CHILDREN. And people are insulting this kid, it’s wild. I hope LSU will resolve that. It could be a blessing in disguise for them and help them become a dangerous team.

Don't know the true narrative, but this is how it looks to me: Angel Reese transfers from Maryland because she needs a coach who will challenger her. Kind of a backhanded insult to a NCAA championship coach, but ok. She gets to LSU, and they play a mid schedule in 2022-23, getting blown out by South Carolina. LSU makes their run in March, and wins the NCAA, and Angel's first act as champions is to disrespect one of the legendary current women's players. Then she spends the summer signing NIL deals and hanging out with celebrities. Now it's fall 2023, and Hollywood Angel has to return to LSU and slum it on campus. Not only does she have to return to the grind of classes, but she now has imported superstars to compete with in HVL and Aneesah Morrow. She is not queen bee anymore. LSU loses to Colorado, and Angel is one of the players getting called out. She doesn't like it. It all has an "I'm better than all this" vibe. Bad play continues against Kent State, and Angel gets benched. LSU wins big without her. Now Kim Mulkey has leverage. They can win without Angel, so Angel gets the "shape up or ship out" message. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
That is a interesting scenario. Something like this would light a fire under Angel. That would give her more motivation to play well.

If a current player is confiding in you with information, why would you take it on IG live and add fuel to the fire. Very shady and classless of her to do that. As far as Angel, Fla'Jae, and coach Mulkey, they need to come get together and hatch this out. Stop letting outsiders paint this narrative as to what they think is going on with the program. If i were Alexis i would focus on my pro career. She already messed up with the comment she made about the Women in the league, it never sat well with them and hence she ended up being attacked by the WNBA (women). She had to apologize and so on. She thinks she’s try to be smart instead she’s just tarnishing her name again. Even if she has chances of coming back and playing in the W here in her country,some teams won’t give her that chance. We have got to be better managers of our craft and complete the task of receiving the degree to complete the goal of obtaining the degree. A professional career isn't guaranteed

I can assure you that there have been problems behind the scene for quite some time. With all the diverse personalities, how could there not be? The problem is, things finally reached the boiling point. The Colorado loss didn't help the situation. When a man forgets to buy roses on Valentine's Day and his wife asks for a divorce, that's not when the problem began. The problem began when he did the same thing for their anniversary and her birthday, three years in a row.

Grind daily flex occasionally. We don’t know Angel but the sense is that this off-season she did the opposite…flexed daily and grinded occasionally. Hopefully all is well personally and LSU still has 3-plus months to correct the situation. Huge lesson learned.

WOW. I am terribly disappointed about this situation...but I am not surprised, not totally. I had hoped that when the team practices and the season began, Angel would be able to flip a switch and focus on basketball...and the TEAM. Still, I was always concerned that there would be drama with all the big name players, but I thought if anyone could manage all the personalities, it would be Kim Mulkey, but this serves as a reminder that this is a new generation of players, some of whom give ZERO f**ks about authority. Speaking of authority, Mulkey and her staff should have reined Angel in as far back as the White House situation. Lastly, the situation with the mothers' dueling social media posts is BANANAS. I agree. Angel and LSU, receivers a lot of crazy undue criticism. And besides them winning last year (and that made up brouhaha with the Hand). It appears many female basketball fans are not used to a certain spotlight, and take their sports ultra aggressively, even when what's discussed has no facts, analysis, or history behind it. as if we're talking/listening to 8 yr olds. But then again, that's social media in a nutshell, and many of us take it too seriously, as if it's reality, and it's not! Just look how that total non even between Reese and Caitlin Clark, was instigated on social media by two famous (no doubt Bandwagon) Caitlin Clark/Iowa fans, when no one noticed or discussed the Hand Non Event during the game; the post game show, or the analyst comments after the on the court post game show! It was a big/Total Nothing Burger. However, many (on both sides) were led to absolute bedlam and insanity by "repping" their team or players for a total non event that we've seen countless times in sports, which caused no shouting matches; altercations; excessive shoving; obstruction; gesticulation or fights. Absolutely none (either before; during or after the game)! But corporate media eventually covered it (as an excuse/proxy), when Keith Olberman and Dave Portnoy of Barstool criticized Angel Reese (no doubt due to their frustration in Iowa losing, after media told them they were going to win) for a total non event. Even now, after 6 months of reflection, some crazy SC and Iowa fans, bring up "The Hand" non event gesture, as justification to hate Angel Reese, and/or call her "Ghetto" and other sundry monikers (as you noted), many times contradicting themselves or the team or players that they root for themselves with no self awareness what so ever! Unfrickinbelievable!

Social media can be the worst, Angel is an awesome player, I don’t know here personally or what kind of person she is, I do think she needs to work on her attitude when playing and being interviewed, she has so many young girls out there that she’s setting an example for. I really hope whatever is going on, soon she will return to the team.

Thank you Quita for your insight and objective view, it is really so sad to see the vitriolic spew shown toward Angel 22 yr old student athlete, I think this is just player and coach butting heads not the low gpa because if you’re not eligible you can’t play at all til grades are up, that’s for everyone high school and college, anyway can we maybe just show little empathy toward this young lady, I know I’m asking for miracle but it’s almost the season 😅

This situation is a mess, whatever it is. I have to think that LSU will get it together by the new year and this whole situation will be a footnote.
My unsubstantiated prediction is that Angel got into a physical altercation with a teammate/Kim. No evidence on that, just where my mind is right now. Angel Reese is a talented player and I believe she’ll be back in it before too long.
This whole situation is messed up i wish the moms didn’t bring the issue on the internet. Which parent will want their child to commit at LSU after all this? Let’s be honest! Even the people that wanted to commit to lsu might change their mind bcoz of this same situation. Believe you me this whole situation has messed up a lot of things and LSU will suffer for it.

Naw that would have been out there trust me..Reese broke the rules coach told them no NIL activities during the season she should have had that shoe deal worked out and announced during the summer vacation. The coach gave anybody who wanted it the summer off.
The mother of FlauJae went overboard and the hood dozens was really uncalled for but we as a people don't know how to set aside nonsense and keep making them dollars. She act like she made Angel Reese I thought Angel had an agent when she came to LSU. That tweet gave me the impression from her that's FlauJae's mom has been the one getting Reese all her NIL deals and making her wealthy kinda odd...guess she can put her back in the po house. Then fronting her about her grades that was foul as it gets. If Reese is smart she'd turn over the team to FlauJae because it's no need in getting your character assassinated over some NIL deals. I'm like this chick if you can rock NIL better than me you can have my chair. I'd turn in my uniform on Monday team up with Shaq for an ambassador job and keep it moving if I were her. If you get that kinda gangsta target on your back you best duck.😮 No way no how would I ever interact with FlauJae moms again...she ain't nothing nice and as shrewd as they come. I'd let go any type of NIL deals she's involved in and get out of town but fast.

I think coach Mulkey benched her in early in that game for shooting that 3...coach probably told her not to do that (she always misses them..)...she shot it anyway. Got benched right after..then some crazy blowout happened in locker room at half time.
This is what i was thinking too. Coach must have told her not to shoot those three and the first thing she did was to shoot the 3. Then maybe couch was like not today. She tried about 3 if not 4 three pointer and missed them all in the first half. Then second half came and she never played.
Whatever is happening I hope Angel Reese is well and taking care of herself. Some people want to see her fail so bad. It’s weird. Every time we see an outspoken Black woman winning society seeks to knock them a peg.
I was 21 once and life is just hard around that age. Add fame, money, etc. and I could only imagine. Glad we are giving her some grace!

I wish the coach would have said it was for mental health reasons to quiet the monsters down. Is it possible that a 21 year old young lady's ego may have got the best of her, yeah. The pressure and hate being sent her way is tough to navigate. She got thrust into the limelight and has had money and fame of an insurmountable level, while in college. I think people forget she is in college. I have taught at the college level for years, and it is not uncommon for students, who are not millionaires with insane schedules to melt down. I get its hard for the public at large to empathize because she is making money and her public persona is the bad girl image, but at the end of the day, she is really young and probably struggling privately to handle it all. I wish the moms and coaches and teammates and former teammates would take a step back and give a little grace and look for ways to help her get grounded. In my opinion, the amount of hate and jealously is not deserved because she is a fierce competitor. If most of us were thrust into the spotlight at that age, would we be able to flawlessly navigate it? There are grown men in every league blowning it all the time, how about we give a little grace. I'm all for trash talking her game on the court, but I think it's tasteless to revel in her struggles off court and in her personal life.

Lost of excuses and “give grace” in your take. Agree that our young people still have a lot to learn and when young we all do stupid stuff. At the same time, even before she got all this notoriety, we have been hearing about her lack of humbleness and tendency to run her mouth, so that’s who she is. As a parent of two D1 athletes with some success in their respective sports since they were little, something we made sure as parents my wife and I was to teach them that their talent was a gift and that respect, staying humble and to be respectful of coaches, teammates rival and officials at all times was a “must”. They learned that at home. So “to give her grace”??, we can do some of that, but there is a limit, as I know from personal experience that many young talented athletes do not behave that way.
Some good points in your analysis. But I’m glad we didn’t hear “mental health”. Mental health issues are very serious and shouldn’t be confused by things such as ego and personal responsibility and so on. I’m not saying don’t feel sympathy for Angel but if it’s not real mental issues, let’s not sue the term.

Not everyone handles pressure the same, and it is my hope that she doesnt break under all the scrutiny and hopefully there are some level heads that can provide the guidance she needs.
@@written12 Grades, celebrity, school, athletics and social media can all contribute to poor mental health and many people balk at the idea that all that pressure can cause poor behavior. Having issues with ego and anxiety and stress can all fall under than umbrella. Needing a break to deal with the pressure can be a mental health break. So I believe it would be ok to use the term.

If grades were the issue she would’ve been out of the Kent game. The fact that she was benched the entire second half and gone the next game is an attitude adjustment or she broke a rule

I believe it has something to do with the White House situation when they won the game. But you're taking cap song now. They're tried to discredit this. Young lady not fair, but it is what it is. PPl can say what they want or feel about Angel Reese all day long, but when reality and the facts are brought to the table a couple major things gone stand out. She might of blew up over night if you look at it that way, but she made an IMPACT and STAND that will last forever. How many ppl can say they did that? PPL may say and believe she is "overrated" as a basketball player, But she damn for sure is "Underrated" as a human being. Got to give props when they are due, Angel Reese made an Impact for women sports that is rarely matched. Alot of female athletes will benefit because of her actions. LSU is a powerful team with AR and without her. Morrow is a beast and the others can really play because they are coachable. As a former academic D1 athlete in 2 sports my focus was an education and I worked 40 hours fifty years ago. I made it in 4 years with double major and double minor on the Dean’s list. I know one of the young ladies on the team and this is how I met Kim Mulkey and she does not play with the players. I have followed her whole career and she knows how to win. Money changes people in several different ways. To become effective in your skill you must practice. Her mother needs to stay off of social media and the same for other parents. I hope and pray they get this settled very soon but I don't think they will have a chance to repeat with turmoil.

When she acted the way she did in the national championship when she wasn't even a factor to act the way she did and many blacks come to her side to make it a racial issue instead of holding her accountable about how to act and molding her in a positive way. They made it OK in her eyes that she can do no wrong and that she's bigger than she actually is. If it was my daughter I would've on her ass on the court. But this is the outcome.

For a basketball fan (especially UConn), it's really sad that the reigning champions are being talked about for facts that don't directly concern the court. Even though I don't particularly follow the events of other teams, I don't remember a situation like this. I miss Pat Summit, who always set an example for the coaches. Quita had some difficulty addressing the topic, but she was balanced

And for that game we have Pat Summitt to thank for agreeing to face UConn on the road, when no other team had accepted. And she did it for the good of the game. Very classy woman
as a longtime bb fan I just started watching womens bb. last years iowa team was so much fun for us hawks fans. the last game was disappointment but not total disappointment. being interested in this year I watched a LSU game and soon realized that they dont really need angel to be a great team. they added at least two players that are fantastic. we will see what happens

I said it before and will say it again: NIL, as it's currently constructed, will ruin college sports as we know it. Players should be paid equal amounts directly from their universities rather than through NIL deals and corporate sponsors. Some NIL deals, such as Celeb Williams', are more money than most D1 football coaches' salaries. With the amount of money involved in some of these NIL deals, it's impossible for a 19- or 20-year-old not to think they are more important than the team. I'm not saying this is the case with Angel Reese because I don't know what's going on with LSU Women's Basketball, but I wouldn't be surprised.
She is young, but who said life is fair. People are mostly making comments because it makes people angry that someone with more talent than them appears to be throwing it away. It upset me that Caitlin Clark can’t hit a shot. The other thing is people are angry that the players should be happy people are watching women’s basketball now. I find it much more interesting than the men. Also, she is a professional athlete by my definition.
The academic suspension makes the most sense to me, just for Johnson’s mother knowing about it!

As a former BiG Ten faculty rep, I can tell you that grades get sorted out BEFORE the season starts… they had to report to conference what the grades and credits are before anybody can play.

@@QuitaLovesSports Compliance Officer checks at beginning of each semester (or quarter for schools on quarter system like Northwestern, Stanford, UCLA, Oregon State) for 2 things… does student athlete have required GPA and does s/he have enough credits. My own granddaughter was basketball player at UCLA and was 1 credit short her final quarter. Fortunately I knew some colleagues there and got one to offer her a one credit independent study. They became longtime friends and he continues to follow her WNBA career and off season international play.

I haven't looked at your video or read your comments yet. However, based off what's happened and what we're hearing. It appears Angel may be under academic probation and suspension of some sorts? This is especially true, when you think about the nature of the purported tweets between family members discussing Angel Reese's GPA (as if other family members are disappointed that Angel Reese may have let down her team). In addition, there was speculation that Angel and Fla'jae were involved. So, though there may be an academic issue. Flau'jaes mom could of had that response, if she and her daughter had a messy situation?
Any who: Regardless, of the reasons. If Reese can come back this season, her being out can actually help the team in the long run, as as Mulkey was already seemingly having a hard time trying to shoehorn so many talented players that deserved time and their roles. Having Angel on the sideline for some time being, can give others more confidence and experience in the line up/with Mulkey, that they wouldn't have with Angel sucking up 30-35 min game. That sorta confidence and role playing will be needed if they are to repeat as National Champions.Mulkey were trying shoehorn different roles in the first place.
We'll see how this all plays out, and (once again) AR and the LSU women are giving women's basketball-like it or not- way more publicity than it would have gotten otherwise.
I think that the parents should have stayed out of it. The children will eventually get back together and bond as a team.

There must have been something that happened prior to mama Kia responding to mama Angel’s msg. The unfortunate part is that the msg was directed to some guy who has been in mama Angel’s dm that’s why mama Angel said in her msg that you wrote all that just to say nothing, meaning just go straight to the point. She even said the next day that and i quote” i think he saw the msg and decided not to text today” meaning the man who has been sending her msgs.
this is all jus messy and sad for the team. i hope this blows past. i jus want to see the girls ball.

From reading these comments, I can tell this young lady had so many haters before this incident occurred, and their just using this situation as occasion to let it all out. Iowa is the most popular team "on Earth." Most of those millions of people watching the championship game were cheering for the Hawkeyes. All their games increased attendance in every arena and on television. Nobody cared about LSU until the final four. I do congratulate them on their championship. They played a good game that day.

My opinion: She spent too much time doing NIL stuff, posing, modeling and not enough time in the classroom, study hall, and maybe not enough concentration on basketball. Yes, I do think NIL is not a good influence at times. That's the negative part of NIL, in my opinion. The kicker is that she can't make the $ she's been making without being enrolled. The other kicker is that she is too late to declare for the WNBA draft. So she's at least stuck this year. The thing with Flau'Jae's mom and Angel's mom (and others) is so ridiculous. Wow. There's a lot of negativity toward her-the young woman, the player. I am not a Mulkey or LSU fan, but I don't want bad things to happen to her, and I totally agree with you that social media plays a huge part in this negativity. If there wasn't posts on Twitter/IG, etc, would a lot of this even been talked about? I doubt it. It might've been dealt with "in-house."

I live in BR. I am close to members of the team. And I will say this. Fame and fortune HAS gone to Angels head. Her priorities are all out of wack. She does not have to go to class like normal student-athletes. She is supposed to be taking online courses like all normal student-athletes. Is she...I dont know. But I do know this..I WILL be talking to my girl after the game on Monday night to find out what's really going on.
