My favourite rally car of all time...😍 any kid that grew up in the 80's will know how exciting the Group B rally was, it was more exciting than F1 was back then. When Lancia changed to the Delta I didn't like the shape so much as this radical beast with its OTT whale tail. A thing of beauty, not so much for pure looks alone, but for what the entire fashioning of the rally car entailed. Nice job Gavin 👍 you may just inspire me to build mine....SQ only mind, and no black bumpers fitted.
ALWAYS look for your videos…like I have mentioned in my comments to you in the past, our specific interests as far as choice of vehicles is very far apart, but the content of your videos is always packed with tips & advice that is universal & has been very helpful. Today, for instance, I ordered a bottle of T-cut. Your attention to detail & the personal value you place on your RC’s is inspirational. I am not ashamed to say I love the GT’s I build & the thought purposely or thoughtlessly wrecking any one of them breaks my heart. Seeing your wife gives you her support is also very nice. As always I wish you the best of luck & continued success. Joe M
I either misunderstood how to use the T-cut or purchased the wrong stuff…Red bottle…says T-cut? I am in the midst of painting a new BITTY DISIGN JOTA for a LIMITLESS V2 chassis that’s on its way. I try very hard to do a “perfect” job, but inevitably the results are far from perfect. I held off between colors awaiting the T-cut. When it arrived, I got back to work. It had NO effect on the areas of minor leakage??? The product had the consistency of a “rubbing compound” & applying with a Q-tip did nothing at all. Obviously I was very disappointed. If you have any insights, please let me know. Thanks, Joe M.
I've been waiting for this one! There's one untouched at my local hobby store. It's been there for years but I just ordered the Tamiya CC01 ISUZU MU. Excited to put that one together later this year. Can't wait to see the running video.
Great work . I love my 037 . The body took ages. I actually used a sharpie for the window trims and details . Slap some rally blocks on it and it’s a superb offroader 👍
Love it, I will be buying myself one asap. I wish tamiya would do the fiat abarth 131 in 1/10 rc as well as in the 1/20 static model kit they currently offer
Well put together video, very interesting to see a completely different perspective on RC kits. Would have never thought to consider the body shell as an identifier of a kit, personally it has boiled down to the chassis selection. Always considered the body shell more as a consumable, not unlike fuel/tires. Thank you for helping to gain some insight into the world of Tamiya RC!
a better tip for removing the black as the spray cans are lacquer based and the tamiya black you used is acrylic use acrylic thinner (X-21A) on a cotton bud (pointy ones work best) it will clean up the black and not touch the base colour
That is a kit that feels like old school Tamiya. I like this one a lot, especially when I remember the Lancia car models from Tamiya, and a very good RC toy/almost hobby grade car that a kid had in the early 80's it wasn't a kit or anything but it's detail was realistic.
You did a great job and I’m now very tempted to get the TA02 kit. Sorry but I can’t see the appeal at all of the goofy looking vintage ORV version. They went through a phase of strange chassis choices for some of their models and this was one of the weirdest
Nice job.yea,I agree on the bargain aspect. I really want one but just got an xv-02 and get to upgrade that so I'm doing my best to control my rc addiction.....I love that opel ...
Hey Gavin. I was wondering if you could do a good length clip on painting and decals. How you steady the body and such. Sorry if you have already. I can't see one in your vid collection.
Hi Gilbert, Yes I have done loads. Just type "painting guide rckicks" into RUclips search bar and you will see a few. I did a 190e Benz, a Hornet and also take a look at the "Lancia Delta Integrale RC Car RCKicks" for a detailed decal fitting guide.
Hi, great video and I am looking to buy one of these. Quick question, if only used as a shelf queen, does the large front bumper have to be there to complete the chassis build, or does it come of to keep the scale appearance of the real car?? Cheers, Paul 😊
The year: 1983 The driver: Walter Röhrl Co-Driver: Christian Geistdörfer or Ari Vatanen (not sure if Walter had another Co Driver some of the other runs but he was with Christian for Monte Carlo) Facts: only 2 wheel drive car to crush Audi's Quattro... with a driver that didn't even wana become champ lol Walter Röhrl the man, the myth, the legend, the last man to be quicker with a rear wheel drive.
Great work, great car, I can't decide if I would for this or the Lancia Delta with a TT-02R chassis. Can you use magnets to hold the body or is it too heavy?
They've gone up to around the £200 mark nowadays.. But what hasn't gone up in price.? .... .. Oh.. Well, HPI & Maverick haven't... They've actually comr down in price... By quite a lot actually. I only wish other manufacturers would follow suite.. 😉 😉
Hi, i want to make Tamiya Chevy S-10 or F150 Rally or Desert Fielder. What is the best TA02 kit to start as a base ? So i want to be sure to transform TA02 in TA02T. Regards.
Hi Gav, I reckon this kit is a bargain, especially considering that it comes with a ball diff and oil shocks. By the way...you might want to take a closer look at your wheels :-)
Awesome video mate! Do you have any tips when it comes to applying Tamiya decals? I built a TT-01D Mazda RX-7 years ago (when I was 15-16, I'm 26 now). And although I was happy with how it came out at the time, looking back I messed up a few of the decals by getting air bubbles in the windows and getting some slightly wonky etc. Is there a technique to minimise this? I'd love to get back into it (especially a model like this because I love rallying), but rally bodies in particular look very challenging. I just know I'd mess up those big Martini stripes 😂 So yeah, is there a technique? Or is it literally just a steady hand and experience? Cheers 👍🏼
Hi David, Well we know it's coming but when it will be released and what version it will be hasn't been announced. Unfortunately Schumacher only announce a release when all the kits are finished sitting packed ready to go in a warehouse. We never get an announcement a month before or any teaser videos. I would guess it will be a Pro Cat myself but who knows.

Black Sharpie is always good for rubber surrounds too mate. Nice job on the body and drivers. Looks great. Do you use decal solution ? I only ask as you've got the decals nicely bedded down

Well i now my next rc car will be YES the Lancia good video by the way
That's amazing job Kicks, I like how the windshield wipers are in the up position.

That’s the way it goes?
So, did I misunderstand you? Did I buy the incorrect stuff? ?????????
Classic and you've gotta love those Martini liveries. That's one i would have for a shelf queen it's just gorg.
Tamiya should make more hard body
I love this kit. I bough one last year and I painted the body in gray.
Is the most beautiful RC in my collection
I agree, it’s a lovely kit with way more than you expect for the price point
Wow ❤️ you made this car so beautifully it is such a gorgeous car it came to the perfect home and care taker ❤️
Thanks Jonas

Stunning! Nice job.
The new kit looks miles better than the old one

Beautiful model! The new kit looks much better on the shelf and probably more suited for on-road driving then the old one.
That will definitely look better than the original frog based chassis offering !

Awesome! Thank you Ryan!
That cockpit looks amazing 😊
I’m not impressed myself, to me it looks like a five year old painted it. I just can’t up the sharpness of the detail.
Fantastic Lancia project! I personally prefer the new one as It looks so real and ready to burn the Road. Great master model. Love this model!!!! 🏁🤙✨
Thumbs way up Gavin!

Great production quality on the intro Gav - loved it :)
Amazing build again think I may have to purchase one
that looks ace after you added the driver figures, so much detail. Much much better than the frog chassis. shame about the massive bumper
You can remove the bumper easy enough and for a shelf queen or light running it would be fine.
Lovely looking pair 😎

You could but if you drive it on rough ground, you will need to upgrade to stronger magnets

Nope in the kit

It will go on the track. Currently the grass is being repaired thanks to the bonkers UK weather that we had over the summer that killed it all.
