After playing that back in 2017, i was so impressed of this game in all these passed years. After the cliffhanger in the outro, i looked forward to get the chance to play a sequel of this gem. Last week i decided to make a replay, before i dive into the second release. It's not just a lot of fun - the creators of the game gave a us a chance to overthink the AI hype we have nowadays. Highly recommended title for the PS4 system. 😊
Also just started this game this year. Game's slow to start, but I got immersed into it probably around Mother's Crown where more quests start to pop up & you start to get the feel of the combat system. Graphics is amazing every time I turn on my PS and progressively getting better at targeting & dodging with the controller feels satisfying too. There's a lot of depth to this game that you slowly learn about that makes the game more dynamic instead of straightforward hack n slash combat. Last game I previously played was Diablo 3 so was kinda burnt out from isometric arpg's, and changing over to open world over the shoulder POV really freshens things up.
1:32 60+ hours and then there's me with 130+ hours in this masterpiece, the new game plus in ultrahard was amazing with the new weapons and features and also quite challenging, man i love this game.
I bought this game at discount only 4 hours in and I got to say it's good, the looting/crafting system is simple so it's not that immersive but it's okay, but the main point for me is the combat and the graphic/environment
I loved this franchise with all my heart, and it even proceeded all my expectations with Forbidden West (it's emotional, exciting, profounding and well-crafted). It felt like I had become a close friend with Aloy and it made me care for her and the world she lived in.
I really find it interesting that the story jut really kicks off when you arrive in the last region where you could have already got the first achievements like: Completing all bandit camps or completed all cauldrons. It just really kicks off when reaching maker's end. Also you really should give the side quests a chance as the characters are really great and most of the side quests are fun too (not to mention that some of the characters we meet in the side missions do appear in the game's sequel Horizon Forbidden West). 3:25 : Quick remark: there is a skill from the skill tree which allows you to call a new mount machine at any time without having to override any (I also just discovered this skill in my 2nd playthrough :D)
Interesting takes. To each their own. The mount calling perk would’ve been amazing to have! Maybe if I give HZD another go it’ll be one I go for definitely. 😅
this game is so visually impressive, that I would ignore fast travel and happily go by foot, so yeah screw fast travel, hardly ever used mounts Forbidden West's map was so much bigger so only then did I make an exception on using fast travel, but then it didn't use the "pack" in that game as long as you were already at a fast travel site
I finished my 100% on this game a month ago and now I'm pretty far into Forbidden West. Let me just say if you like Zero Dawn, Forbidden West improves a lot mechanics and issues with the first game. (Btw theres no spoilers) Transition from cutscenes to dialogue options are seamless and you don't even realize most times it's happening. The resource system lets you hold more and it seperates items depending on there use (crafting, selling, trading, etc.) so you don't have to pick out the items you want to sell. The best thing is what they did with Aloy herself. She feels more fleshed out and humanized as a character compared to what she is in this game. I like her in the first game, but I really like how much more they did with her in the next one. There's so much more to talk about, but I recommend anyone who likes this game to definitely play the sequel.
@@MrHoodieJonesAnd the issues with the mount/fast travel system you mentioned were changed. I definitely think they improved it but I'll leave that for you to decide if you play it 😁
Completed it this week after picking it up for £5 on a steam sale. Very good game. The lore makes all the searching for data point and viewpoints worth it. Peicing together the story of the world that was lost.
It does look amazing. I used to watch videos of it after my business went bust and I could not afford to buy a video game. But I vowed when I got some money I would play this and of course now I have some hardcore gaming pc and a hardcore monitor and it looks amazing. I've done 2 playthroughs at 160 hours and it's definitely worth playing.
I got stuck 3 years ago and deleted the game but now I have return to try again I really wanted to love this game but I’m on the fence yet it is very interestingly good and not so good but it’s growing on me slowly
one of my top games of all time. On my second playthrough which was on the pc, I got so engrossed with the side missions and just kicking ass (First time into the deserts I took down a stormbird even though it was 10+ levels higher). I really could not see eye to eye on your criticisms, the games travel pack resources simply means you need to kill some wild life animals in your journeys. you are surrounded by them. Shoot something. I think the flawed AI works very well because it FEELS like your are outsmarting a flawed AI system which works out well, because these machines are flawed. They make up for it in aggressiveness. Also putting your weapon kit together and known the takedown strats helps immensely. My only frustration is when dealing with some of the big boys you are constantly moving and shooting and I am constantly getting hung up on terrain and falling back into walk mode. This is so common in open world games. One thing of note, not all quest show up on the map screen until you are on top of the person. second play through I found a bunch more side quest in the open, including a multi tierd one dealing with a seer. This game took $200 million to make and it feels like it.
Although i do agree with most of your statements, i do not agree with the fact that the mounts are hard to find or hard to obtain , on quest's or just on the road most of the time they are quite close, it might take 2-3 minutes walking if it's really THAT far but other then that they are easily able to be obtained, however if it is far away in your opinion then that's alright it's no hard feelings Horizon was supposed to look as realistic as possible to so of course there's not gonna be horses and other creatures everywhere because its not very realistic if it did
It’s ok if we don’t see eye to eye on things. Everyone will have their own takes. I just tell people of how my experience went and the ups/downs of it.
Damn...it's been 6 years already. That was good time. I loved playing Battlefront 2 back then. I enjoyed the game for the first half. Then it gets kinda boring and repetitive. I really want Sony to release the sequel and Spiderman 2 on PC so I can spec them out and get a smooth 60fps.

I think I wanna start it again, played it a bit for a few hours some months ago, but couldn't really get hooked. Combat and all that was really fun though, it's kinda the futuristic vibe that puts me off. But maybe I should try it again.
Some games can take awhile to pick up on the story, where a player gets invested. Maybe give it another go and if you feel the same…I wouldn’t sweat it. As some games click for people and others don’t. I’ve had those experiences myself, it’s different for everyone.
Didn’t get a grip with my ps4. I tried to focus but got bored really fast. I tried again on pc built recently and 100 hrs in and completed everything lol. Once you get the feel of the storytelling and combat systems a bit and just a browse through the world I accidentally found myself immersed into the game so easily so many times. Good game in my opinion. 😅

@@MrHoodieJones Color pallate of the game/style of clothing and the futuristic tech with a big open landscap and being able to hop on anything and using ropes to travese around faster. I can see "Bloodhound" fitting easily into the horizon world and aloy in apex. I swear it's like the same people made both games.
Great game ruined by a trash sequel and it's DLC. The story and writing of forbidden west and Burning shores are so bad makes you wonder if a 3rd game is even necessary. Zero dawn had such a good story and good world building....only for forbidden west to come along and destroy everything. Forbidden west might look and play better than Zero dawn but the story and writing of zero Dawn gives it that extra edge. A Shame it's now a generic story with a generic world...wouldn't be surprised if it's another mass effect 3 style conclusion after that "invasion".

I did enjoy the story, but not sure I’m driven enough to 100% complete it.
But if you like it that much props to you. 👍🏻
@@MrHoodieJones u dont deserve this game if u dont complete it %100
@@Mr.Koray07 makes no sense
@@TurkishQuandaledingle. it does because it means youre not getting the full content out of what you pay for and get bored. Might aswell not play at all
so its like Zelda
I’m guilty of never playing Zelda. Sorry can’t compare the 2, wish I could though.
Agreed.
Much better quality game than West that's for sure.
Noted. I’ll still want to give it a try, but who knows when it’ll come to PC.
I get serious apex legends vibes from this game.
Oh how so? I’m curious to hear.
That's an interesting perspective, I never would've thought of that. Thanks for sharing.
Well that’s a bummer to hear, I was curious about looking into the other Horizon games…but by the sounds of it I’m not missing much.
ooga booga?
Caveman talk, Flintstones like…that sort of thing.
Nah. It's nothing but fetch quests.
To each their own. 🤷🏻♂️
I sat on this game for about 4 years. Now I’ve completed it about 4 times
I bought this 3 years ago , on sale. I just started it a week or so ago. I didn’t like it at first, but giving it a second chance, it’s awesome.
