My favorite breakfast is Milk & cereal, can eat it for first & second breakfast, 1.25 cup cereal + 1/4 cup NIDO (powdered milk), add water, shake, instant milk & cereal, can add raisins, coconut, or freeze dried fruit to cereal. Here is Imitation Biscuits & Gravy: 1 package Ramen (broken up in small pieces, don't use seasoning packet) + Bacon pieces + 1/2 packet Pioneer Country Gravy + 1 cup boiling water. I buy Bacon pieces in condiment aisle of grocery store and goes well with things like mash potatoes, grits, ramen, salads. This sounds weird but is really good, put some Peanut Butter + sliced Salami on a tortilla (or bagel), sounds weird but is really good, high fat and gives instant energy.
Great to have you both heading on an adventure again. Been too long. Hope both you and Garden State VLOG the trip. Always good getting both your perspectives on the hike. Have a blast!
It's interesting how resupplys have gotten more modern since when I started hiking. I see a lot more Peak meals, Backpacker's Pantry, Mountain House, and drinks like Starbucks Via (I was skeptical, but Via is closer to "real" coffee than any other instant coffee I've tried on the trail). Also the electrolyte chews and the caffeinated water enhancers like MiO are things that I've added, too. It's looking a lot different than the old school days of SPAM singles, Knorr sides, mac 'n cheese, and gorp.
Hello from Australia! So lovely to see you both out hiking again! I’d probably pack out a salad roll or similar for lunch on the first day and add in some fresh food for the first couple of days depending on day time temps, weight etc. but apples are good and cherry tomatoes and baby cucumbers. Have fun guys!!
I like to add a Breakfast Essentials with my instant coffee for my morning breakfast on trail. Gets me moving. Hey, y’all have a great journey out there!✌️
Great video. I am going to attempt Outdoor Vitals 100 Mile Challenge again this year. I didn’t complete last year, only finished 45.5 miles. May do same hike this year and finish.
Hey, Baskets and Garden State... Nice to see you in my RUclips suggestions, for a change! You included me in one of your Berkshires vlogs in 2019 when I was a new backpacker. Can you say something about how much your food weighs in your pack and how you secure it night? Maybe talk about your decision to hang or use bear boxes vs. people using canisters? Thanks!
Hi I’d say a few Lbs per day I have had resupply on the cdt that was as much as 20 plus Lbs for longer Carry , both hanging , bear boxes , or a canister are solid choices , for a canister you’d need a bigger pack so hanging or using available bear boxes is always smart Happy trails
Hi, Nice to see you two on the trail again. Thanks for the nice video. I'm planning on a 6-day hike in southern PA (Caledonia State Park to Duncannon) and need a good roll-top food bag. What size did you get? I will purchase that or the next size bigger. God Bless on your hike!
Hi I would suggest the Dyneema bag from Hilltoppacks I have a few of their bags Enjoy your trip that’s a cool section, Duncannon is a beautiful trail town 16"x19" LARGE bear bag weighs 1.30 oz
Some days you want more than one coffee, especially if it's cold or raining. But I've found that the advantage of doing it like Baskets is doing it here is that you don't have to worry about being out of coffee.

@@baskets8429 Thanks!
are you sure you have enough coffees ?
Some days you want more than one coffee, especially if it's cold or raining. But I've found that the advantage of doing it like Baskets is doing it here is that you don't have to worry about being out of coffee.
if you don't carry coffee, you don't have to worry about running out of coffee...suxs to be addicted to poison@@danielstoddart
No peanut butter sandwich?
I usually eat peanut butter right out of a Jar, that might be a good idea , I might add a jar for some midday snacks
@@baskets8429 I love the squeezable peanut butter. Perfect for hikers.
What’s the costs of a five day resupply?
It will depend
Usually I can be under 20$ a day
But when on a long trails sometimes I’ll overbuy food, it will also vary on store location and prices
No spam?
Sadly
No spam
Not much craving for it last few years lol
But who knows it might make a comeback
@baskets8429 nah, you are just developing a sense of taste!
