My favorite moment of anime abandon is the Video Girl Ai review. I love a good tearing of a romp as much as the next guy but the sincerity portrayed in that review is a great pick-me-up for anyone watching who feels like an outcast. Its reviews like that, that take really hammer in home how much people like Bennett White care about his fans and I thank him for it.
Sage, I personally love that Grenade Pubes was #1 specifically on the principle that that moment is *exactly* what Anime Abandon is all about. You once said, "Anime Abandon is a museum," and you go on to expose us to one of the craziest moments in anime's history, nicely framed on our computer monitors. The moment spoke for itself, and your facial expression said a thousand words. Just as having watched Violence Jack to understand your review helped me feel the dread and nihilistic emptiness you ACCURATELY portrayed.
Count me as one of the lovers of your Violence Jack review. I think the best way to approach it is to think of it less as a "review" and more of a short film, and for what it is I really enjoyed it.
but you have to admit, it was a BS move in terms of hyping the review up and then not actually "reviewing" the OVA series. Granted, after seeing the uncut and i mean fully uncut version, it is extremely draining and horrible to watch. Probably the worst thing I have ever seen in terms of animation, but you can't just hype it up and then not talk about it. it's not like he hasn't done unfunny reviews before. I get why he did it, but still.
+CamsEyeView But the point was that he couldn't do it. He even had to resort to Evangelion imagery (he, who doesn't like Evangelion, using Evangelion imagery!) to convey this idea! Since he couldn't do it, the only other choice would be no review at all -- would you have preferred that? I think the hipe came from initially having thought that he would be able to do it. When he realized he wasn't going to be able to, well... the other videos with references to Violence Jack were already there, he couldn't undo them.
Asehpe oh yeah because I wanted to see a bunch of crappy preachy and pretentious imagery instead of talking about the actual anime.... it's still his biggest cop out and if he wasn't going to be able to do it, then why keep teasing it? He could have set it up differently like why Violence Jack is the worst anime of all time or something....didn't have to watch mediocre middle school acting and a preachy message of being moral minded about reviewing stuff...
I still love your Violence Jack review, it did give me lots of inspiration for writing dark creepy scenes in my horror short stories. Particularly ones that are psychological thrillers and that grapple with character torments.
Mad Bull 34 part one was the first review of yours I ever watched and I'm not ashamed to admit that it was purely based on the fact that that image was on the thumb nail...You can't look at that and not want to know the context. Got to be honest though, it was your reaction to the chief that got me hooked because that little "This is what your see when you die" bit was freaking hysterical and still is.
Took me a bit to find it, but I really liked the "review" for Violence Jack. It felt like a short film, and I really dug it. I really enjoyed the effort you and your team put in to that video, and I am excited to possibly see more content like that in the future. Love your stuff, keep up the good work!!
I think what's sort of compelling about suave is that even though he objectifies women to hell and back, he expects them to do the same to him. That and he's so over the top, with no filter, you can't actually be offended by him.
Just thinking, you know what would have made that screaming bit from Poltergeist Report x2 even more funny? If they had put the T-Rex roaring from Jurassic Park in there
Having had the unfortunate opportunity of actually seeing Violence Jack, I completely agree that your review was as good as it could get. Yes, you could have written a review cracking jokes at the very few moments where the film isn't depressing and bleak, but that wouldn't have made for a good review. I feel like those who push you to do a 'proper' review of it have not actually seen the film. Trust me, people, there is nothing enjoyable about that film. I'm a fan of ultraviolent anime, but there has to be something else there. Whether it be a good story or a unique/beautiful animation style, there has to be something else. Violence Jack is simply ugly, disgusting, and stupid beyond belief. There is no 'good' review to be made of Violence Jack.
JustSomeDamnGinger i have seen violence jack and yes while it is way over the top and absolutely fucked up i didn't see how it could make him do that. i'm not saying he should do it oh fuck that garbage but i just don't get it. then again it might be because i desensitized myself by watching pretty much watching every ultraviolent i can get my hands on.
I saw Violence jack.. and I enjoyed it. For what it was.. a crapton of violence that were loosely linked. The couple of bad bits.. well.. Yeah The Crap that i don't think should be seen in anything. (I also enjoyed Violence Jack for the fact it was... a continuation of Devilman.)
I may not have seen the film myself, but I agree. I am not a fan of ultraviolent anime (the sole exception being Fist of the North Star, and even then it's because of the fact that all who get killed are deserving of it i.e. no senseless child deaths), I appreciate devilman for what it is and violence jack, according to your views, shits all over its legacy. I personally like Akira, and think that his relationship with Miki is well done, if a bit odd. I will never enjoy it if I'm forced to watch something and I already feel like I have seen it by watching the review of Genocyber.
@@JazzStation95 although Violence Jack published in the late 70's, and Fist of the North Star published in the early 80's. When Fist of the North Star did actually show some dignity and well respected of the concept alone. While Violence Jack in the other hand shows that putting more on the Ultraviolence side can get some attraction and realizing this is gone too far not knowing how to balanced it
I was listening to the love hina review when I was falling asleep, and when it got to the scream I fucking experienced sleep paralysis and terror because of it.
25:00 in reminds me of some of the Kevin Smith movies for some reason. Swave seems like a character that would be in some of those those kind of movies. This is a complement by the way. Just in case someone does not like those movies.
My favorite part of this episode is the Suave on a date skit, when it pans to him just as the girl (I have no idea who that is but you have a hot friend) is dropping her outerwear and the cat is looking at her with basically the same expression as Suave up on its little climbing post thing.
Favorite moment the ending. Haha, but really it makes me tear up seeing that the show has gone on so long. Its like when you max out something in an rpg and you look back on everything. You know its not over, in your mind you know there will be more to come. However in all of this its kind of depressing. Right on Ben. Oh and if your reading this please, do something this games again. Perhaps on another channel.
My favorite Anime Abandon moments when you started to lose your sanity in the Ninja Resurrection review. Because I love seeing a lot of bat-shit crazy scenes in anime. And I find really hilarious to see your reaction of how crazy a lot of the scenes can be
"You *CANNOT* live your life without offending someone!" -Mark Huh. ViolenceJack is for you what Wh40k is for me. Or being a Sonic fan for too long. Or....
My vote, had I not missed the voting somehow, would have been for 11:10-11:40 of Legend of Lemnear. The first choice of videogame music was funny enough, but I fucking lost it when the second theme came on (Probably because I've been playing that game for about 20 years). And those camera shots were perfect for it, too.
As a Manga collectionner I have found a manga that Suave might love. It's an old vintage Hentai manga called DBX. It was published in France in the year 1997 without being translated in French, meaning it's all in Japanese. This is an extremely rare piece of hentai for one specific reason: it's a parody of Dragonball. Yes, the frenchies have the capacity to import your childhood destroying porn and publish them (and then to get sued because it's illegal, but still having sold copies in the mean time) Frankly honest the story is non existent, this is just the usual couples of the dragon ball cast, Sangoku and Chichi, Vegeta and Bulma, Krilin and C-18, Sangohan and PiccoloOOOOOOOOOOOOOWHAT!? Still better than DBE. Oh by the way, Dragon Ball anime review when? Not that it's a bad anime but it has some huge issue (like the Freezer fight taking an excruciating long time, even so long that I never actually finished it) (fixed by the dragon ball Kai serie I guess). Though I might see that anime as mediocre because I'm french (and for the record, the French dub is decent, but modifying the name of the attacks and the opening makes it unbearable to even listen to)
Here's all I'm gonna say about Violence Jack. If they make a Violence Jack anime on Netflix thanks to the success of Devilman Crybaby, then you are duty bound to review Violence Jack for real. Even if I expect half of the footage to be nothing but Censor Kaiser staring into our souls.
Can anyone tell me what episode where Bennet threw a "comically oversized remote" and it hit Gabe. I know its one of his older videos but I can't find it.
I knew it. I F*CKING KNEW IT! At the time i wasn't sure it was referencing brave little toaster with the ac guy throwing a tamtrum and exploding, but this just confims it. Also lol on suave, glad he did become a character.

25:23 I don't know what's better, Suave's face or the fact that the cat in the background is looking in the same direction with the same expression.
Never noticed the cat! Great find
I was literally just about to make that same comment a milisecond before noticing this comment.
ShootingStarNeo lmao
I literally just noticed it and was gonna comment, the look on its face is priceless
HAH! I saw the cat and just went: DUDE! THAT'S GOLD! HOW DI DYOU GET THAT TO HAPPEN!

The Censor Kaiser rebirth is definitely a great moment. Especially thanks to the timing.
Censor Kaiser n Suave go hand in hand
I still love your Violence Jack review, it did give me lots of inspiration for writing dark creepy scenes in my horror short stories. Particularly ones that are psychological thrillers and that grapple with character torments.
One of my favorite moments from your channel was from your review on Jungle De Ikou. A bit on you stabbing out Gabe's eye was pretty funny.
Mad Bull 34 part one was the first review of yours I ever watched and I'm not ashamed to admit that it was purely based on the fact that that image was on the thumb nail...You can't look at that and not want to know the context. 25:18 LOL the look on the cats face in the background
The cat during 25:23 to 25:27 was hilarious. Also, Suave was pretty funny too.
The Van Halen "Hot For Teachet" mega leer was my personal favorite bit.
Anyone else notice when suave's date walks in that cat behind him is like "DAAYUUUM!"?
Took me a bit to find it, but I really liked the "review" for Violence Jack. It felt like a short film, and I really dug it. ...Well, Suave's date is my #1 pick for best moment of this show thus far. XD
Top Ten Best Moments of the Top Ten Best Moments! XP
6:59 this is me as Rob Paulsen strangling Bennett when he said negative things on Akira
It's funny! Suave reminds me of Zap Brannigan, from Futurama.
I think what's sort of compelling about suave is that even though he objectifies women to hell and back, he expects them to do the same to him. That and he's so over the top, with no filter, you can't actually be offended by him.
RIP eyes you did me good and bad but now i shall ascend to new plane without you after seeing the grenade jock strap
I lost it at the end, that was fucking brilliant and unexpected XD
Just thinking, you know what would have made that screaming bit from Poltergeist Report x2 even more funny? If they had put the T-Rex roaring from Jurassic Park in there
Wretneck
That joke in the Darkstalkers review was the perfect opportunity to use the T-rex roar.
25:20 cat also likes the girl.
MY EYES! Can't claw them out... fast enough...
Well said Boomstick!!

My personal favourite is the opening rant from the Sonic review made at Doug, but all of the ones featured here are golden.
25:00 in reminds me of some of the Kevin Smith movies for some reason. Swave seems like a character that would be in some of those those kind of movies. This is a complement by the way. Just in case someone does not like those movies.
I realize now that I'd repressed the memory of that ending. also congrats to Bennet for coming so far with his weightloss since then.
My favorite part of this episode is the Suave on a date skit, when it pans to him just as the girl (I have no idea who that is but you have a hot friend) is dropping her outerwear and the cat is looking at her with basically the same expression as Suave up on its little climbing post thing.
4:38
So, what anime is that at the end of his shelf? The 2-vhs one? I've always wondered that.
I totally developed a crush on the woman from the Suave bit. She's *perfect*.
+Kolby Kauffman she is unique looking from other women but very beautiful in the right areas.
Anna cherry, she does some nude cosplay photography...
Holy shit that troll part is great
Favorite moment the ending. Haha, but really it makes me tear up seeing that the show has gone on so long. Its like when you max out something in an rpg and you look back on everything. My favorite Anime Abandon moments when you started to lose your sanity in the Ninja Resurrection review. Because I love seeing a lot of bat-shit crazy scenes in anime. And I find really hilarious to see your reaction of how crazy a lot of the scenes can be
Hey Bennett, do you have a link to the violence jack review. I would love to see it but can't seem to find it anywhere on youtube or your website
Hate that nothing from the Inuyasha episode made it in. The revenge fap near the end made me laugh ridiculously hard.
I don't think the Inuyasha episode was made until a few months after this one
gonna be honest I really wanted to see you review violence Jack, but your review was entertaining
Way to own the #1 moment.
"You *CANNOT* live your life without offending someone!"
-Mark
Huh. ViolenceJack is for you what Wh40k is for me. Or being a Sonic fan for too long. Or....
I'm happy to see the swav back, but that cat. X3
100th episode? But there’s five of them missing.
i love the violence jack review. it is a nice change of pace and doesn't give any credit to that piece of shit.
I can hardly wait for the next Top 10 Moments.
Really wish I could still watch the Violence Jack video again... It's been gone for so long...
My vote, had I not missed the voting somehow, would have been for 11:10-11:40 of Legend of Lemnear. The first choice of videogame music was funny enough, but I fucking lost it when the second theme came on (Probably because I've been playing that game for about 20 years). Huh, so the Cumehameha joke was older than Obari's Angel Blade when a futa chick shot blasts out of her... unhmmhglmghgmn...
. . . If you do another one of these, you have to add the bit where you read a troll comment onto the video cause that bit was hilarious.
Loved it!
was the guy you got for dugenoniering for assholes one of the guys from Attack On Titan Abridged?
***** Yup. And he was the funniest character.
lol
25:23 oh my god even the cat is checking her out!
Looking forward to the inevitable GIF of Sage swaying with his pubes-grenades.
I wish that Floating Vic Mignogna's Head from the Junk Boy review had made the list
the violance jack review was the first one I saw. It got me interested.
2022 and swauve is still a sexy beast of a man, shine on you lovable man beast...shine on
Hey what's the song that plays during suave talking?
Had to rewatch this for whatever reason!
24:51 THAT IS MY FAVORITE MOMENT OF ANIME ABANDON!!
My favorite bit was the OVER ACT alarm from Detonator Orgun
Here's all I'm gonna say about Violence Jack. If they make a Violence Jack anime on Netflix thanks to the success of Devilman Crybaby, then you are duty bound to review Violence Jack for real. Even if I expect half of the footage to be nothing but Censor Kaiser staring into our souls.
1:03 Clip show! 1:08 CLIP SHOW! 1:13 It’s a god damn clip show!
Does anyone know the girl from the Suave bit ?
i love you bennett
Does anyone know who that woman Suave went on a date with?
Where can i find the Violence Jack video?
on his site
Nick Jackson it sucks. cop out.
I miss Suaves old voice. He sounds too nasally now. Despite the fact that we havent had a suave review in YEARS
Sucks his Top 20 Giant Robots list got taken down.
oh my Lords of darkness I spit soda all over my phone. love this show
Is their a video of just marks bits from the show? not that your not awesome sage btw thanks for coming to fanime again.
Who's the woman in the Suave bit?
her name is anna cherry
Can anyone tell me what episode where Bennet threw a "comically oversized remote" and it hit Gabe. I know its one of his older videos but I can't find it.
I think it's one of the love hina episodes.
Love Hina Again.
HellChuggapri1 you're the greatest
Well, if you ever make a Next Top 10 best moments, that comment reenactment will surely make it in.
the violence jack vid looks more like a creepypasta. watching it in that regard makes it entertaining
xD dood
keep doing what your doing
I knew it. I F*CKING KNEW IT! At the time i wasn't sure it was referencing brave little toaster with the ac guy throwing a tamtrum and exploding, but this just confims it. Also lol on suave, glad he did become a character.
22:05 FOCUS!!!
22:07 UNFOCUS!!
17:24 i like this guy
Omg Anna cherry lol
When did Bennett do a crossover with the cinema snob?
17:15 this legit scared me watching it the first time.
I don’t think I would’ve expected pube grenades in real life, let alone a cartoon.
Jerusalem really does add allot to anything it's attached to.
What song is it called?
Jerusalem
I’m dead. That was awesome.
You had the idea to buy a bunch of mics instead of a bunch of props? Sounds like something I might do...
That ending makes me want to wash my eyes with fire.
oh gods....Benette...im blind now * goes full Oedipus on my eyes*
I would've added the hacking sketch from Gunsmith Cats to the list. 7-8 years too late.
Oh shit, 10 year anniversary this year
So I really feel Bennet should make us a list of animes he actually likes
He did. He made a list of his top ten favorite anime.
BeingShotAt Spoiler, Berserk is the number one! >;D
@ 12:58 - Is it really pronounced EVAN-JELLY-ON Sage?
Amazing.
Ah, those aren't real grenades, unlike Mad Bull. Still, a sight to behold.
I can't fine the macross plus part 1 reveiw
Fuck Yeah Mad Bull 34
Bleaugh, Censor Kaiser is way bigger than he needs to be to cover the naughty bits so it ends up taking up most of the screen, probably should have gotten rid of him by now, not giving him a tribute.
Considering this was a poll, that's a minority opinion
Can you review berserk
I voted for No. 3! Yay!
What is his eyes saying?!?
If i got the quote right it should be this :
"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh cthulhu r'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" or "In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming." in English
That sounds pretty freaky.
I liked half the violence jack review, the other just felt like getting the rug yanked under my feet and sucker punched.
I thought this was gonna be the top ten moms in anime.. Damn cutoff title.
