Produced by Don Davis and Tony Hester, it was the first single from the 1977 title track album, just weeks after the Davis-produced ‘I Can’t Get Over You’ peaked in the top ten of the R&B chart.
I was living in Germany in the mid to late 70s and I missed a lot of top 40 radio so I don’t know this group or the song. But they do have a Temptations vibe about them, for sure. If you like the deep voice of this song, have you checked out Barry White? He’s famous for a bedroom voice. Brace yourself before you start listening, otherwise you’ll melt to the floor, lol.
I’ve seen that there have been quite a few reaction videos to songs by the O’Jays. The one song that I haven’t seen a reaction video to is the song “Brandy”!
Ask any Detroitier growing up from the 60's to the 80's and they will probably pick the Dramatics over the Temptations 9 times out of 10. If you wan to hear one of L.J.
