I got a problem with that with this pinkamena crap you don't really think the fans depicted her as a depressed serial killer creepypasta I mean I love the Fans creativity and imagination of what they think of pinkie pie when she's depressed but this show they treat depression like it's a big joke
@@Nerodotnetwhy do you guys believe in this stuff you know these lessons are really that inspiring there's actually a real life lessons that are actually inspiring others every single day these lessons and MLP lessons are b*******
Actually, this wasn't a bad episode at all. It's surprisingly displayed depression very well. Depression makes you say and do things that you normally would not, you distance yourself from the people you love, so leaving for yakyakistan without saying goodbye was something very plausible. When her friends reminded her of the things she was good at, it was plausible that Pinkie wouldn't feel any better, depression blinds you from all the positives. Depression can sink you into a dark place that you cannot get out of, until you've resolved what was making you depressed in the first place. Then, and only then will the person see some hope of being themselves again. This is coming from a person who suffered from depression.
@@nathanhuerta4445its easey:if your friend can't play some instrument all you to do Is support .you can give some critic or say an opinión but obligate to your friend to stop playing just you dont like it or the person can't play very well Is not a good friend.
Damn...this episode has a deeper meaning..depression and stuff helping a suicidal friend whenever there feeling down... At least thats what i think and feel. This episode means alot to me.
What do you mean by that I mean she got depressed over a damn instrument depression is it very big topic to go through for people who actually have that and people will do anything to help them out but this episode didn't take it seriously and treated it like it's a big fat joke cuz that's what the show is about nothing but big jokes
Pinkie show signs that she might have Bipolar disorder, with the quick but huge mood swings she can have, but the depression part of it isn't shown that much. But man, when she does depressed, as we've seen, she gets depressed! It could also be a reason why, when she's not depressed, she often have so much energy and so cheerful: that's the "manic" phase of Bipolar
02:31 It's the sound of Gabriel's trumpet announcing the apocalypse, I guess? :q 03:25 More like a BAD pipe :J 05:14 More like ALL OF THEM :P 07:54 I bet Twilight would appreciate some Human technology in this situation: ebook readers can actually store the entire library in just one "booklet" :) 14:16 PARTY.MOV anypony? :q 21:40 Rainbow Dish, your mane is on fire :J 23:23 Or at least unclog the pipes :q 24:23 Yeah, and now she's got that party canon times six, each of them producing wacky sounds ;q Just wait on when she puts confetti into those pipes ;J
It makes more sense when you think of Pinkie's party cannon as a part of her job and the instrument as her favorite item to play with. Pinkie's party cannon is for her job so it doesn't quite work to use as a toy to play with whereas the Ufidophone(sp?) she can play around with and enjoy more than a party cannon which only has one real function.
I thought this episode was pretty good. I know that Pinkie wanted to get better at playing the yovidaphone but, showing up at the places where her friends were while playing it was lousy timing. I too was not expecting Pinkie to go Pinkamena again, that caught me off guard. This change in Pinkie was a little different though. Not only her hair deflated but, her color palette went gray as if she was Discorded/Mean Pinkie; at least she didn't have her screws loose this time though. She might have played the yovidaphone differently but, the way it was played by one of the yak's was very good, beautiful even. All in all, I liked this episode; both funny and surprising.
SpacialRend7 I really didn't like this episode the first time I watched it. But I do like rewatching with reactors and reading the comments from other fans, the different perspectives can highlight parts I may have missed.
I would have liked it more if they explained why she became so obsessed with an instrument that her life has no meaning without it. Pinkie's ADD and her appreciation for yak culture just isn't enough.
So Pinkie can't play the Yakyakistan yvidophone well; I can hardly play the keyboard (even though I love it.) Who cares if it sounds well; it needs to make a pony FEEL well!
How it should have gone: Pinkie, we're happy that you love playing this. But you're not being considerate of where you practice. We can find you a secluded area. How it went: Pinkie, you're trash. Give up your dreams.
(A sum up of my comment) Her not playing well isn't what made her sad basically. It's that she was told not to waste her time and to stop doing something she loved. What i love about this episode is that people need to know that, sometimes you don't have to be good at something to enjoy it. When Twilight told pinkie that she wasn't good, i feel like she should've left out the part "None of us want you to waste your time on something you can't do well." Although i do appreciate that about the show because realistically no one can say the perfect things to anyone all the time. Also the easiest solution would've been to tell Pinkie that she is disturbing the town and to practice in a more secluded area.
That's for me the problem with this episode an intervention of Yona would have been perfect or adding lines just to tell to practice where she won't bother anyone or asking to the yak who play it right to help her , and when you realize that this episode become frustrating to see that we were at to line to not be bad.
Sweetie: "Well, you don't have to be good at something to have fun!" Scootaloo: "And being good doesn't always mean you will." (via S6E4 "On Your Marks")
@@JazzyWaffles I agree with you on that , when first watched On Yours Marks i thought it cool episode and then i understood the lesson and it became a great episode but for Yakety - Sax it's the opposite more i think about how they try to teach you that being bad is okay more i think that this episode was unnecessary since On Your Marks already taught the lesson in a better way. Also people complain about this episode moral but it's not the first time that episode contradict each other. So if you like that episode that's great and for me i truly want to want to like that episode but unfortunately i don't , shame for me .
What I don't get is why Pinkie became so obsessed with those glorified bagpipes and got so depressed when she had to stop. Doesn't she drive joy and meaning from making others happy? Why does her entire life suddenly revolve around a musical instrument instead of what it has always revolved around before?
I think this episode would've been much better if Yona and Prince Rutherford were involved to teach Pinkie to play that sax. they could've done a moral similar to "Horse Play"
The problem is that the writers state that Pinkie’s only meaning in life is to play this instrument, even though that is completely incorrect. Like Voice of Reason pointed out, episodes like Party of One, A Friend in Deed, Pinkie Pride, and even Too Many Pinkie Pies prove what kind of pony Pinkie is, and what makes her this happy.
It was sweet being able to see a portrayal of how it feels when you develop a special interest and your support group is less than encouraging about it and how it feels to be discouraged for it. I think the execution of the episode could’ve been better, but I quite enjoyed it and it speaks to me for the above reason.
But at the same time, there is a time and place for practicing a new hobby. Especially an instrument. She was playing in highly inappropriate times and places; night time when Fluttershy was putting animals to bed, during Rainbowdash's competition, Rarity's work, and Applejack's work.
(Continued from my other comment.) 14:17 Hi Lyra, Bon-Bon and Amethyst. 14:42-15:02 Twilight decides to throw Pinkie Pie a party and declares today Pinkie Pie Appreciation Day. 15:05-15:24 This is reminding me of the G3 episode Positively Pink. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 15:10 Hi Bon-Bon. 15:30 Gummy arrives without Pinkie. Also, Hi Amethyst. 15:33 Those faces. 15:34 Hi Cranky. 15:35 Those faces. 15:36-15:46 Applejack and Rarity question Gummy. He doesn't respond as usual. 15:46-15:55 It turns out even Fluttershy can't understand Gummy because he never talks. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 15:53-16:02 Spike questions Gummy. He just licks his eye. 16:02-16:06 I'm sure he is. Remember Slice of Life? 16:05-16:19 Twilight and the others surprise an empty room. Why is the whole house empty even though it belongs to the Cakes? 16:12-16:18 Applegeek is concerned. 16:16-16:20 Oh hi Maud. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 16:20-16:25 Not exactly. 16:25-16:37 Rainbow Dash almost falls into the same trap as Twilight and Applejack. 16:25-16:59 This is why I love Maud so much. When she tries telling a proper joke it falls flat. But when she's just her normal literal self she's hilarious. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 16:49 Again, how do the physics of those carts work? 16:53-16:58 Maud was literal even before she met Mud Briar. 16:56-17:15 Those "what"s. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 17:15-17:34 Rarity thinks she's misheard both Maud and Applejack. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 17:18-17:27 Look at the attention to detail here! Maud and Applejack walk with their legs completely straight, but Rarity bends and raises hers in a more lady-like manner. 17:34-17:51 We find out why Pinkie Pie moved to Yakyakistan. 17:51-17:55 Those lines from Rarity. 17:55-18:22 Twilight understands how best to handle the situation. 18:01-18:05 Fluttershy's face. 18:10-18:22 Twilight's face. Also, it's a good plan. But that's probably not what's going to happen now. 18:22 Those faces. 18:31 Again, why do they have to take the ballon there? Does the train not have a line that connects nearby Yakyakistan? 18:32 So do I. 18:40 They can just casually land in the middle of the village? 18:48-18:58 The ponies hear beautiful music from the instrument Pinkie was playing. 18:58-19:01 I'm afraid not. 19:09-19:12 The music brings a yak to tears. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 19:15-19:22 The yaks shush Rainbow Dash twice. 19:28-19:41 Pinkie is drunk on ice cream. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 19:44 That line and face. 19:52-20:04 Twilight and the others try to say they respect Pinkie Pie's decision. Pinkie suddenly says she'll move back to Ponyville. 20:05-20:08 It was too easy Dash. You haven't solved the real problem. 20:09-20:12 Applegeek knows the solution. 20:11-20:25 Twilight finds out why Pinkie is still miserable. It can be a difficult thing comparing your talents to experts. 20:26-20:39 Those lines and Applegeek's reactions. 20:38-20:41 You don't say. 20:41-20:44 None of us can. 20:44-20:48 Rarity's face. Also, look at Pinkie - she's smiling. 20:48 Applegeek saw it. 20:49 Fluttershy's face. 20:53-21:01 Pinkie Pie's actions and Applegeek's reactions. 20:54 That smile. 20:57 That's someone else's, Pinkie. Don't shove it on the floor. 21:04-21:06 She's smiling again. 21:14-21:24 Didn't we already learn this moral in a CMCs episode? 21:24-21:40 Pinkie makes a good point. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 21:40-21:48 Rainbow Dash tells Pinkie to just go for it. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 21:44-21:47 AJ's smile. 21:52-21:59 "Ladies and gentle-yaks....round of stomps". 22:03-22:08 This isn't stand up comedy, Pinkie. Also, did you seriously just ask that question? 22:08-22:10 I said it first, Applegeek. 22:16-22:42 Pinkie playing restores her mane and colour. Also, the yaks' and Applegeek's reactions. 22:43-23:01 Yigrid explains it's not about the music. Its about the instrument making the player happy. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 23:01-23:03 Pinkie wants to perform a song she wrote two seconds ago. Did anyone see her do it? 23:03-23:13 Hey, that's Trixie's line! Also, Applegeek's reaction. 23:11-23:14 Pinkie's friends join in with the catchphrase. Overall, it's understandable to me why this episode aired early. It's pretty mediocre. Don't get me wrong, the references to Horse Play and Maud's comedy were enjoyable. But other than that, this feels like it was written for an earlier season (specifically the later half of Season 6). Starlight was nowhere to be seen, neither was the School of Friendship, and the moral about not needing to be good at something to enjoy it was previously covered in On Your Marks. I'd have to say this is probably my least favourite episode of the season so far. Hopefully the next one will get things back on track.
It's a pretty good episode, nice to see that Pinkie is trying her best to fit in the Yak customs by learning how to play on a sax. Even though her playing was a pain to the ear I still have to acknowledge the fact that practice makes someone a master. What I didn't accept and disliked is that Pinkie were pretty much purposely trying to mess around with the mane 6 like staying all night at Fluttershy's cottage and not even letting her getting a shut eye is just wrong. If I were Fluttershy I would've just sent the bear to scare Pinkie away. That was a low blow from Pinkie. I also don't really like the fact that how her friends weren't much supportive towards her practicing. They pretty much just told her that she plays god awful and she should just stop. That's not the way how you should support your friend. I get it Pinkie pretty much annoyed them a lot but still, they could've told her to go somewhere private where she doesn't bother anyone and practice there. And for some extra boost in confidence they should've also said that they will be giving some motivation and cheering too. That's how true friends would've done it, not by telling her that you suck. I also loved the fact that this episode brought back Pinkamena. I really missed seeing her, so yeah kudos for the episode for that. Overall the episode was really good, I enjoyed it. It wasn't a very special episode but it had it's fun moments.
I know the feeling. There was a season two episode that I didn’t really enjoy, but after watching Brony Burning Axe react to it and saw him enjoying it, I realized that I had misjudged the episode and all I needed to do was look at it a bit differently and actually really enjoyed it! I just needed to let go of my personal distaste for a couple of things and look at how good the rest of the episode actually was. It was an experience I’ve learned from, and one of the reasons I’ve never called a single episode “bad”. “Ok” “not as good” and “could have been better” sure, but I’ve never outright called one bad. I honestly think people throw the word bad around to much. On another note, dose anyone think we as a fandom might be to used to how good the show is? And so as soon as a mediocre episodes comes out people call it bad? It’s just something I’ve been thinking about for awhile. Sincerely, Guardian Blade the positive analyzer.
16:04 "Wow! Full party teleport." That's not even all that impressive by Princes Twilight standards. She first did that back when Rarity, RD, Spike and herself were being chased by some dragons back in season 2. As a _unicorn._
Pinkie pie obviously struggles with depression i honestly think she may suffer with borderline personality disorder And she can be very high and happy and when low she is very depressed and when Angry shes very pissed off. This show has a deeper meaning
I know this is an old comment but I felt the need to respond. The writers are absolutely aware of what they’re creating. Pinkie has ALWAYS shown those signs, even before the first time she turned gray. Her bubbly and chaotic nature that seems immune to sadness or anything blue, is an extremely telling sign. The cues are all right there, you just gotta observe them. There’s a thing called manic episodes when someone suffers with bipolar disorder. Along with mood swings and extreme euphoria. Her moods are always severely heightened, when she’s happy she’s extremely joyful and seems borderline on drugs. When she’s sad she becomes severely depressed and the exact opposite of someone who cares about having fun and wanting others to be happy. When she’s angry she’s just an emotional wreck of extreme aggravation and rage and pained frustration that seems a lot of like the anger you see in a depressed individual. It all ties down to some type of personality disorder paired with depression for sure. She screams (literally) unstable and chaos. It’s literally her theme. And we all know what the underlying root of that is. I love seeing or interpreting deeper meanings and concepts in this show. Makes it even better when you know the writers usually do add something along the lines that younger kids wouldn’t be able to catch
"Hey, Pinkie, even though your playing skills are awful and constantly disrupts the peace in Ponyville, you should continue playing anyway and we'll support you no matter what, cuz friendship" There. I just summarized the "lesson" in this episode for you. Seriously... What the actual hell happened with the writing in this episode? Good in it's intentions, but quite possibly the absolute WORST execution I've ever seen.
Yeah, that was my only problem with the episode. It would have been perfect if they instead compromised and had Pinkie play where she couldn't bother others, or maybe had her get lessons from the Yaks on how to play, or heck, use that Bubble of Silence spell on her.
I agree, treehugger. It would be wrong to make Pinkie stop completely (I mean, she is pretty destructive and oblivious when happy and not playing too), but there were many ways to come up with something that would help everyone. Pinkie could also agree to only play in her own house or special events or something.
Justin Galloway Twilight`s quoting: "Pinkie, we don`t want that you *wasting time* with something that you are not good to do." If you told that to every one that is your friend, about some hobby that they care about and in which they can improve with time, they surely can become depressed. I think that the lesson that you want to give, "give up the things you like because you bother others while practicing" has a point...but I appreceate more what this episode wanted to say, that is: "Practice make you good. You must be respectful of the others, and not invade their personal life with your practicing, but don`t give up just because NOW you are not good, If you like it. A good friend support, and shows patience to you, but you must be respectful and do what you like in the proper educate way - just like play with the Yaks." Honest opinion.
It wasn't her pinkamena stage (because that's her real name) she developed depression because her friends had hurt her feelings and took her away from the thing she loved.
18:33 "Whoa! Bumpy ride today." With the following shot of flying toward a wintry destination to the north, this scene feels suspiciously like a reference to "A Very Minty Christmas"
Pinkie can play new musical instrument perfectly without any training and learning about it. She played yovidaphone so "badly" becouse this made her happy. Playing a good melody would make Pinkie less happy and her play wouldn't be perfect any more. One more superpower of Pinkie :) And that's why she was playing everywhere in a town and her friends' places. She was trying to share her happyness with everypony. Pinkie couldn't know that her friends do not like a PERFECT yovidaphone play before they told it :) (sorry if my english is bad... it is in progress :) )
8:11, could've been worse. You could've gotten🥉. 🤨 Despite this being a bit of an ear pain, it was so wonderful to hear a master play that instrument. 😌
I felt better about it on this subsequent viewing, but I couldn't help feeling that it was bland initially, and had a muddled message. They should have acknowledged her disruptive behavior, so that kids don't get the wrong lesson. This honestly felt, initially, more like a season one episode, where the characters were still finding themselves.
I feel like all this episode needed to be great was two more lines at the end to tie everything up on both Pinkie and everyone else's side. But beside a kinda flat ending I think this was a funny episode highlighting Pinkie's occasional lack of social awareness and empathy.
I liked the episode. I do like the fact that Pinkie isn't perfect in everything that she just picks up. Pinkie's Pinkieness only works on Equestria stuff, however it doesn't work on other nations stuff. I felt like Maud had the same issue you talked about, being a bit more literal than she usually is. Also love other nations being included in episodes. Wish maybe a little more for Griffons but always like Yaks as well. Think it is great to include different cultures in kids shows, as it shows that others will react to things differently. I think I've liked every Yak episode and the Yak comic as well. I have heard from a number of people that they didn't particularly like it, (sometimes calling it the worst episode, which is a weird thing to me). I can somewhat see why some people won't like it but I feel that the episode did very well with Pinkie development. We already know that Pinkie can get very emotional very quickly. Anyway I know one of the next episodes will be a great one.... But I don't know which. I've been spoiled a little bit because of derpibooru but still haven't seen past episode 19. I don't even remember what episode 20 is going to be. But some of the next episodes are going to be good. Not sure about your feeing so far about the season but I do like it so far. It isn't the best season but it isn't the worst so far. Anyway, hope you enjoy some of the new episodes coming up.
16:00 . Does anyone notice that Spike and Pinkie's crocodile pet (Gummy?) are like invert colours? Spike's eyes are green and his scales are purple. Gummy's eyes are purple and his scales are green.
15:13 Honestly of twilight said that it has to be a new holiday. Apple geek is right. It’s an official princess declaration, which is why I think pinkie pie would go mad with power. If she became a princess, she was just being like venting holidays for every single day.😂😂😂😂🎉
Second comment for the criticism bit. I, as a guy who wants to be a writer, has gotten that on a number of projects. Most were positive, suggesting ways to help me to show more than tell. And I'd be the first one to say it does hurt, but sometimes you need to hear it in order to get better. So on that note I know where Pinkie is coming from. But never give up, and you will see results. If their not what you had hoped, just keep at it! As Harry Potter once stated: "Every great wizard in history has started out as nothing more than what we are now: students. If they can do it, why not us?" And it speaks true to everyone, no matter what their dreams and goals are. Never give up. You will get better, and you will get there. The journey there is just longer for some, but it makes it even more worth it.
I appreciate that you were able to see positives in this episode and explain them. I still don’t like this episode (for me, at least, the positives don’t outweigh the negatives), but I’m grateful that you talked about them in this video. Even if it doesn’t make me like the episode, it makes me feel better, somehow. You’re always a delight, Applegeek. God bless you.
So the only reason why Pinkie Pie was so miserable that her friends told her that she couldn't play the Yovidaphone which is why she lost her pink mane, then she got it back because she's happy to play the Yovidaphone after she was convince by her friends to not stop playing the Yovidaphone even those she's bad at it still. I guess her friends realise that the only way to make her happy again is staring at them all along (Yovidaphone) and didn't thought about that in the first place.
Pinkie Pie Appreciation Day is a reference to a Gen3 DVD special where the ponies have a Pinke Pie Appreciation Day.... That DVD was a big part of my 3 year old self.. I screamed when they said that.
Partly this episode seemed like one of those tropes where they make fun of bagpipe playing (strangling a cat). And I'm thinking Pinkie was trying to treat it like a saxophone. It's Not A Jazz Instrument! XD But oh boy did they go all out on the Pinkamena depression. Practically lost all color, like if she was Discorded.
My first thought on this episode was “She’s actually pretty good. At least she is compared to other starting band instruments. I mean, mine literally makes a high pitched squeal when it fails.”
They really should've just gave her lessons, I mean how hard is it to just give somebody lessons? the yaks couldn't gave it to her, but no nobody want to give her lessons, i'm with you Applegeek.
I'm honestly not sure what to make of this episode. But here are my highlights anyway: 1:54-2:17 Fluttershy and Angel picking flowers and leaves. 2:17-2:32 Fluttershy hears a terrible sound and thinks it's a creature in agony. 2:29-2:32 You're about to find out, Applegeek. 2:34-2:37 That's a very close guess. 2:40-2:51 Those are some oddly specific assumptions, Fluttershy. 2:52 That face. 2:53-3:07 Applegeek's reaction. He even gets a twitchy eye. 3:12-3:14 Angel rips out fluff from his tail and stuffs it in his ears. 3:07-3:16 You said it for me, Applegeek. 3:16-3:20 That smile. 3:20-3:31 Applegeek's reaction. 3:43-3:46 Be prepared to eat those words, Applegeek. 3:59 Hi Lyra, Carrot Top and Berry Punch. 4:01-4:03 Told you. 4:05-4:13 Applegeek finds Pinkie's playing hilarious. Unlike her friends. 4:15-4:17 Why is everything in the show so hard to pronounce these days? 4:19-4:23 The episode title makes you think of that old song, doesn't it? You know: "take out the papers and the trash...Yakity Yak". 4:25 Angel hides under a basket. 4:28-4:43 Pinkie's playing causes a bird to lose all its feathers. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 4:46 Pinkie is exhausted from playing so much. 4:48-4:57 Applegeek and Rarity say it for me. 4:57-5:00 That's a nice, honest way of putting it. 5:12-5:14 Rainbow Dash begs Pinkie not to play again. 5:17-5:20 I think you missed a whole lot more than that Pinkie. Applegeek agrees with me. 5:21-5:23 That line. 5:23-5:29 Rainbow Dash backs off in concern. 5:29-5:40 Pinkie pets her instrument like a kitten. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 5:35-5:40 Pinkie's smile. 5:39-5:42 I agree. 5:42-5:49 It sure is. Hasbro just love creating fuel for the fandom. 5:47-5:57 You think so, Applegeek? 5:54 Angel has his ears tied around his head. 5:55-6:05 That line and Applegeek's reaction. 5:59-6:01 You missed Rarity saying "apple-solutely." 6:02-6:15 Twilight and her friends make the right call. 6:19-6:22 That poor bird indeed. 6:22-7:18 Pinkie, I know you want to perform for your friends. But surely you realise how disruptive you're being. There's a time and a place for everything. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 6:42-6:53 Applegeek and Fkuttershy have the same reaction. 6:49 Pinkie made the animals cry. 6:53 The Wonderbolts. 6:55 Hi Lyra, Bon-Bon, Octavia, Raindrops, Carrot Top and Raven Pony. 6:59 Hi Amethyst. 7:04 Hey - she still has the yak horns. 7:06-7:13 Rainbow Dash, Spitfire and Sorin get thrown off. Fleet Foot not so much. 7:18-7:45 Pinkie turns Applejack's orchard into apple sauce. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 7:45-8:00 Twilight is glad to get out in the sun - as long as she brings her library with her. 8:02-8:06 What do you expect? She's asleep on her hooves. 8:04-8:16 The Wonderbolts only got second place because of Pinkie's playing. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 8:16-8:22 Rarity's new dress is ruined because of bad stitching. 8:22-8:29 Would she have appreciated it if it were saucing season? 8:30-8:41 Fluttershy was up all night trying to get her animals back to sleep. 8:44-8:48 Eight seasons in and we still don't know what measurement of time a 'moon' is. 8:51-9:10 Twilight tries to come up with a white lie strategy, but Applejack instantly shoots it down. Also, CONTINUITY! Also, Applegeek's reaction. 9:10-9:16 Pinkie's playing scares ponies away. Including Amethyst (with a cute little flower in her hair), Carrot Top, Raindrops, Berry Punch and Derpy. 9:16-9:19 Funny you should mention that. 9:26-9:30 You said it for me, Applegeek. 9:36-10:48 Twilight and her friends learn something new. Honesty might be the best policy, but it's not the easiest. 9:44-9:48 Her sun, her moon, her stars, her everything. 9:50-10:27 Each of the Mane 6 tries to get somepony else to tell Pinkie the truth. 10:06-10:19 Rainbow Dash reminds Pinkie of Celestia's bad acting ability. She doesn't connect the dots. 10:22-10:26 Rainbow Dash looks to Fluttershy. She shakes her head. 10:28-10:54 Twilight tells Pinkie the truth. She takes it surprisingly well. Too well... Also, Applegeek's reaction. 10:54-10:57 Working in a shop with a bakery myself, I know all about Apple Turnovers. 10:55-10:58 I agree. 11:02-11:05 Yes she is. 11:03-11:07 You don't say. 11:08-11:18 The garbage pony takes Pinkie's instrument away. 11:18-11:33 Pinkie shows her true feelings. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 13:52-14:01 Pinkie's face. 14:01-14:17 Rarity tries to make Pinkie Pie pink and poofy again - try saying that five times fast. 14:08 Rarity's face. 14:10-14:14 Pinkie's sneeze breaks a mirror. Seven years bad luck. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 14:15-14:19 Applegeek's reaction to how Pinkie looks. (Continued in my other comment.)
4:07 And I'm having flashbacks to Pain in the Ed, you know that Ed Edd n Eddy episode where Ed inadvertantly terrorized the culdesac with his bad violin playing.
At 12:13 he referenced “party of one” but I thing this is a different thing than “crazy pinkie” this is still pinky just ... depressed Than again the “I SAID GET ME ANOTHER‼️” at 19:36 could prove me wrong...
10:30 That was a terrible way to put it; "You're not good at it." was a terrible reason to give. They should have told her time and place; also she seriously should know better than to play during Rainbow's performance. 10:50 She's Pinkie Pie; (everybrony) don't question her. Alright, you can question her for THIS episode. 12:00 That reaction. 14:12 "Why so serious?" 16:45 Maud seriously needs to break up with Mud. 18:25 This is giving me flashbacks of 'The Last Round-up'. 21:15 Again, that was a stupid reason. 23:07 Pinkie's been exchanging notes with Trixie. 27:00 Like 'Secrets and Pies'. 29:20 Me too; as I already said, she should know better. 31:37 I don't completely agree with that; she should play if it makes her happy; but time and place.
people have called this the worst pinkie episode ever....lets see if they are right, i waited to watch it till i could do so with you AG, cause honestly i know you can make 'anything' bearble...your just that fun! edit: that wasnt...as bad as i thought ited be.
this episode was actually good if you look at it as a comedy. the way pinkie was being bad at playing made me remember that imfamous scene in Friends episode "the one where Ross plays the Bagpipes" it was funny as hell and i think if you look at it as a comedy instead of taking it seriouly i think it's a great episode. a few things they could've done better was twilight's line on telling pinkie she's bad. she should've told her that her playing was ruining others' lives and she should try to find a quieter place to play. like a sound proof room or something or get lessons from the yaks. i know pinkie lacks self awareness, but this is beyong ridiculous of her. makes me think she's an idiot, but we know she has her moments of genious. this episode could've been better
Aw! I love hearing your thoughts! Thank you for making these videos! I'm being honest. I don't have anyone to share these pony interests with so, it feels like you're my Equestria buddy! Thanks Applegeek! :)
I think you are my favorite reactor now, your expressions and your little notes are what I live for, mostly your expressions and your energy. Also, if it weren't for the plot, Pinkie would be as flat as her notes
Honestly I think that Pinkie was acting really immature in this episode, honestly if someone were to say to me that I'm not good at something I would've excepted it and moved on, and her friends weren't even jerks about it.
I would've accepted it and moved on too, but one thing about Pinkie Pie that we should know full well by now: she does NOT take these kind of things well like others can. She did overdo it though, even for her.
Bulgarian Slayer 18 that's u tho, u forgot that everyone takes things differently. Tell someone who's very passionate about something and say they're shit and see what happens
But she did try to move on. For her friends sake even. When her friends brought up the proposition for Pinkie to stop playing, she hid behind a facade so her friends would think that she had moved on and they would be happy. But after that, she realized that she couldn't do that. She couldn't help becoming sad because without the yovidaphone, she wasn't able to pursue something that she adored very much. I wouldn't think becoming sad, which she couldn't control would be seen as immature.
+NeverLastStanding: There is a difference between being sad though and deciding everything else you love in your life is meaningless and then abandoning it all. It just breaks suspension of disbelief that Pinkie would do that over a musical instrument.

They know what they did. The writers knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they had Rainbow making cupcakes with Pinkamena.
I got a problem with that with this pinkamena crap you don't really think the fans depicted her as a depressed serial killer creepypasta I mean I love the Fans creativity and imagination of what they think of pinkie pie when she's depressed but this show they treat depression like it's a big joke

Still has a questionable moral. That's the biggest weakness of the episode.

She wasn't suicidal, and the way in which her friends helped her out of depression was allowing her to bother the entire town... not a good episode
I was werdly enough soooooooooo happy to see Pinkamena once again! Hasbro doesn't like to show that side of Pinkie that much...
More characters should return.

That yak made it sound like the instrument is an antidepressant. I don’t like where this is going. Pinkie really could be depressed 😰
I honestly think she's always had depression. She's very similar to Sayori from DDLC, (Doki doki literature club)

24:23 Yeah, and now she's got that party canon times six, each of them producing wacky sounds ;q Just wait on when she puts confetti into those pipes ;J
8:10 I CANT STOP REWATCHING THAT SCENE 😂
I still think an explanation is required in the episode. A vital piece of understanding Pinkie's actions shouldn't be something we can only speculate.
So Pinkie can't play the Yakyakistan yvidophone well; I can hardly play the keyboard (even though I love it.) Who cares if it sounds well; it needs to make a pony FEEL well!
11:57 Pinkamena? Could be worse
12:15 She radiates death? ok...
13:38 ...aaaaaand were all gonna die.
How it should have gone:
Pinkie, we're happy that you love playing this. But you're not being considerate of where you practice. We can find you a secluded area.
How it went:
Pinkie, you're trash. Give up your dreams.
(A sum up of my comment)
Her not playing well isn't what made her sad basically. It's that she was told not to waste her time and to stop doing something she loved.
What i love about this episode is that people need to know that, sometimes you don't have to be good at something to enjoy it. When Twilight told pinkie that she wasn't good, i feel like she should've left out the part "None of us want you to waste your time on something you can't do well."
Although i do appreciate that about the show because realistically no one can say the perfect things to anyone all the time.
Sweetie: "Well, you don't have to be good at something to have fun!"
Scootaloo: "And being good doesn't always mean you will."
(via S6E4 "On Your Marks")
@@JazzyWaffles perfect sum up of my comment 😆
I really wanted to give Pinkie Pie a hug throughout this entire episode.

I think this episode would've been much better if Yona and Prince Rutherford were involved to teach Pinkie to play that sax. they could've done a moral similar to "Horse Play"
Michael McJunkin agreed, also that would make sense.

Honestly, this episode wasn’t that great, but your reaction to it made the episode actually enjoyable.
His reactions are always good, whether the episode is amazing or terrible.
Yeah, we've kind of been spoiled.

Well it makes sense the Yaks wouldn't mind an amateur playing... (The Yaks themselves probably don't sound much better when they first start...)
Pinkie in the thumbnail perfectly illustrates how I feel every day
Pinkie pie obviously struggles with depression i honestly think she may suffer with borderline personality disorder
And she can be very high and happy and when low she is very depressed and when Angry shes very pissed off.
Makes it even better when you know the writers usually do add something along the lines that younger kids wouldn’t be able to catch
she’s definitely Borderline. there is no doubt about that.
Aww thank you so much for that heartfelt message at the end! I really needed to hear that. "Be the best version of you." :)
"Hey, Pinkie, even though your playing skills are awful and constantly disrupts the peace in Ponyville, you should continue playing anyway and we'll support you no matter what, cuz friendship"
There.
Sigh. I know what you mean. What happened to making ponies smile being her greatest joy?
Justin Galloway I didn't think it was that bad. I think she only plays it in yakyakistan now.
Justin Galloway
Twilight`s quoting: "Pinkie, we don`t want that you *wasting time* with something that you are not good to do."
If you told that to every one that is your friend, about some hobby that they care about and in which they can improve with time, they surely can become depressed.
A good friend support, and shows patience to you, but you must be respectful and do what you like in the proper educate way - just like play with the Yaks."
Honest opinion.
Applegeek: We need Cheese Sandwich STAT!
Yeah. Maybe Cheese can brighten' up her mood. CHEESEPIE!
5:25 I'm surprised you didn't add an annotation about the "Bubble of Silence" spell from "Amending Fences" :P
Treehugger0241 , Not to mention 'To Where and Back Again' when Trixie met Thorax.
The music that Pinkie Pie is making almost sounds like some of the chords used in the haunted house at Disneyland Disney World.
It wasn't her pinkamena stage (because that's her real name) she developed depression because her friends had hurt her feelings and took her away from the thing she loved.
22:30 “I guess you guys aren’t ready for that yet. But your kids are gonna love it!”
"I understood that reference."
18:33 "Whoa! Bumpy ride today."
With the following shot of flying toward a wintry destination to the north, this scene feels suspiciously like a reference to "A Very Minty Christmas"
Despite this being a bit of an ear pain, it was so wonderful to hear a master play that instrument.
17:11 who saw the family add flash by in a milisecond?
I did ;)
I feel like all this episode needed to be great was two more lines at the end to tie everything up on both Pinkie and everyone else's side. But beside a kinda flat ending I think this was a funny episode highlighting Pinkie's occasional lack of social awareness and empathy.
When will you react the other mlpeg shorts
I WAS NOT EXPECTING PINKAMENA.
But, wonderful reaction. And thanks for uploading in the actual order.
Pinkamena? Baking cupcakes? *HASBRO KNOWS THE TRUTH!!!!*
Taku Genji same
Depressed pinkameana is so sad but crazy pinkameana is scary
16:00 . Does anyone notice that Spike and Pinkie's crocodile pet (Gummy?) are like invert colours? Spike's eyes are green and his scales are purple. Gummy's eyes are purple and his scales are green.
Apple Geek, I agree with the lessons.
As Harry Potter once stated:
"Every great wizard in history has started out as nothing more than what we are now: students. If they can do it, why not us?"
And it speaks true to everyone, no matter what their dreams and goals are.
10:34 the way twilight worded that is just devastating! Why the he'll did they think that would work?
Pinkie's experiencing what's known as U.N.S. -Uber Negativissimo Syndrome!
Nopony seems to ask theirselfs about what Pinkie wants
None of the mane6 (even Pinkie)
That's the power of depression
13:35 Now that’s purty funny!
~SOMEBODY SHOW APPLEGEEK CUPCAKES ALREADY!!!!~
Pinkie Pie Appreciation Day is a reference to a Gen3 DVD special where the ponies have a Pinke Pie Appreciation Day.... That DVD was a big part of my 3 year old self.. I screamed when they said that.
😄Awesome/Worse😐 Episodes 18 videos I love it😊or I hate it😑!!!
aka episode is not that bad!! ^w^
Pinkie fell into depression!
Partly this episode seemed like one of those tropes where they make fun of bagpipe playing (strangling a cat). And I'm thinking Pinkie was trying to treat it like a saxophone. It's Not A Jazz Instrument! XD
But oh boy did they go all out on the Pinkamena depression. Practically lost all color, like if she was Discorded.
Fantastic comentary on this episode! You hit the nail right on the head.
13:39 Its Cupcake Part 2!
11:31 I can agree applegeek It’s hard to see any of the main six cry
My first thought on this episode was “She’s actually pretty good. At least she is compared to other starting band instruments. I mean, mine literally makes a high pitched squeal when it fails.”
_And a one! And a to! And I know what to do!_
Applegeek, you absolute legend. 😂
The good news is the season is on the upswing from here forward. The next four episodes are all solid. Two good ones, and two great ones.
Yes I was thinking about a mix of an organ pipes and Scottish Bagpipes. I call the Pinkamena Negative Zone
They really should've just gave her lessons, I mean how hard is it to just give somebody lessons? the yaks couldn't gave it to her, but no nobody want to give her lessons, i'm with you Applegeek.
Awesome intro btw! Did not expect that 😁👍
I'm honestly not sure what to make of this episode. But here are my highlights anyway:
1:54-2:17 Fluttershy and Angel picking flowers and leaves.
5:59-6:01 You missed Rarity saying "apple-solutely."
6:02-6:15 Twilight and her friends make the right call.
It's never nice seeing her cry.
11:37 Hi Bon-Bon and Carrot Top.
11:37-11:39 I said it first, Applegeek.
11:43-11:50 That's not a good sign.
11:57-12:10 Pinkamina! Also, Applegeek's reaction.
12:03-12:05 The flower pony's face.
12:05 Twilight's face.
12:15-12:24 Pinkie's misery vibes cause flowers to die. Also, Applegeek's reaction XD
12:43-12:54 I don't think it's going to be that easy. Applegeek agrees.
12:53-12:57 Pinkie causes Twisty Pop's balloons to deflate. Also, Applegeek's reaction.
13:00-13:09 I'd call it misery vibes.
13:01-13:19 A tea party at Sweet Feather Sanctuary. Gummy enjoys it more than Pinkie.
13:08 The giraffe is here.
13:09-13:19 So are Angel and the featherless bird.
13:19-13:38 A birthday party at Sweet Apple Acres. Pinkie doesn't have the energy to set off her party canon.
13:21 Those fillies are cute. Also, hi Amethyst and Carrot Top.
13:32 Applejack's face.
13:33-13:34 Applejack! That is the most dangerous thing you can possibly do!
13:34-13:46 As expected she gets blown in the face. Applegeek thinks it's hilarious.
13:38-14:01 Rainbow Dash tries to get Pinkie baking.
13:49-14:01 The Element of Laughter is not laughing. This is serious!
At 12:13 he referenced “party of one” but I thing this is a different thing than “crazy pinkie” this is still pinky just ... depressed
Than again the “I SAID GET ME ANOTHER‼️” at 19:36 could prove me wrong...
I LOVED your reactions to Pinkamena.
14:12 "Why so serious?"
16:45 Maud seriously needs to break up with Mud.
Raptor Red my thoughts exactly.
Aw! I love hearing your thoughts! Thank you for making these videos! I'm being honest. I don't have anyone to share these pony interests with so, it feels like you're my Equestria buddy! Thanks Applegeek! :)
14:54
Pinkie
Pie
Appreciation
Party
Just to say at 7:04 there was the Gothic style pony from the Canterlot Carousel episode in one of the bottom seats :)
I’m glad the bird didn’t explode like the apples 😬
I think you are my favorite reactor now, your expressions and your little notes are what I live for, mostly your expressions and your energy. Also, if it weren't for the plot, Pinkie would be as flat as her notes
Cmon, no body can learn a lesson once, it will always come back as a habit (after all "we're not perfect, we're working progress").
This episode completely cancels out horse play, it's the exact opposite of horse play!
22:23 - The way her entire physique burst with the note is so priceless
@@shadowx8145 Yeah you're right it, but still.
+NeverLastStanding: There is a difference between being sad though and deciding everything else you love in your life is meaningless and then abandoning it all. It just breaks suspension of disbelief that Pinkie would do that over a musical instrument.
when pinkie pie looked gray, it reminded me of her in the return of harmony.
*A one, and a two, and a I know what to do!*
And a one and a two and a I know what to do
That's gonna be a thing eventually I'm calling it
Am I the only one who likes the way Pinkie is playing it?
Oh god.
Pinkamena is back!
Get your broney shirts and weapons!
Rawwwww!
Broneys attack the pinkamena creepypasta!
