I find this episode to be highly entertaining.
A lot of people have been getting on Dash's case for her behavior here, but I really don't see how this is OOC for her. Her prankster tendencies had never gone away, they just haven't been as prominent up until now.
They also get on her case for pranking Fluttershy, but it was Pinkie who stopped her the first time around, so I didn't mind that.
As for the zombie prank at the end, I'll admit it's kind of silly, but silliness has been part of the series for a while now, plus it wasn't the focus of the episode, so I didn't mind how it was utilized here.
***** Because, while yes, RD did say that Pinkie was right, it was pretty half-heartedly, and it was also just to lead into her own prank on her.
As for RD's reactions, they DID word their reprimand kind of oddly, and RD does have a tendency to focus on the wrong things at times.
My problem with this is that I've seen Rainbow Dash develop as an individual to a point where she's more responsible, mature, and humble, and while that doesn't negate all her personality quirks such as her prankster tendencies, I would have thought that by now she would have had enough respect for her friends (and especially Fluttershy) to not do stupid stuff like this. That's why I said that this would have worked better as a season 2 episode, instead of season 6. It still could work well in season 6, had it been written differently so as to not make it look like she regressed as a character. I honestly feel like Dash's character almost got bashed as bad as Applejack's back in S6E10.
Applegeek Honestly, I didn't see RD's behavior here as a regression, since it has been shown that she can sometimes get too into things to the point of ignoring how others feel, even this late into the series.
I guess I could even believe that, but I have to say that still doesn't excuse her behavior with Fluttershy. Also, the skunk thing was just downright mean, no matter how you look at it.
Also, despite being told not to prank Fluttershy, RD still pranked *everyone* at the party in "Griffon the Brush-Off" and Fluttershy was in attendance. It just happened to be that Gilda got the brunt of the pranks. RD also was harsher than the others on Fluttershy in "Scare Master" and thought Fluttershy should have been tougher, ignoring Fluttershy's clear (albeit silly) frights. Then, after being scared by Fluttershy, she may likely see her as having toughened up to scares.
I don't think RD was out of character at all. Insensitive, yes. Out of character? No.
Somehow Twilight sitting on the whoopee cushion never gets old... 😂🤣😂🤣

With the success of 'Walking Dead', I thought I was the only one not that into zombies (although I was when I was little).
While jokes can be funny, if a joke or a prank leaves someone hurt, it is no longer funny. especially if it results in some one going to the hospital. With that being said, I laughed when I found out this was a prank by the entire town for the first time. Awesome prank, and great way to reference the movie 28 days later and 28 weeks later.
What if it mentally scars someone
I've heard about people getting arrested, fined, and possibly jail time just for doing stuff like faking a seizure in public (wasting the paramedics' time) and sending fake emergency calls without apologizing. The fact people often abuse privileges and rights is just sad.

Hmm this prank on Rainbow could have had a really negative impact had this been not mlp she's the element of loyalty and before the reveal she thought she had zombiefied the entire town. Pretty much ending their lifes in real life that would mess with your mind.

it's okay i miss this ep any way.
I also don't watch/like zombie movies or shows. They're so predictable and lame. (In my opinion). Kind of like this episosde. Rainbow is my favorite out of the mane six but her and the rest of the mane six's character development just seemed to take a backseat in this episode. Some of her pranks were funny but the majority of them weren't. And then the rest of the mane six acted out of character getting her back; and RD acted out of character as well. Ugh I do not like this episode. But still, good reaction regardless and can't wait for more! XD.

All of this happened just because Fluttershy is too sensitive in the wrong way and she is easily to scare.
Maybe Dash just assumed pranking Flutters was fair game now since she’s become more assertive. A wrong assumption, of course, but she probably thought it would be a bit more okay now compared to earlier in the series.
Her line of thinking could have (partly) been something like, wanting to finally include one of her more introverted friends in something she believes “everyone loves”.
Though, she handled it terribly, with her reaction to people apparently not liking her “jokes”. My, my, my....

I never understood Rainbow Dash's plan.
1. She assumed EVERY pony in town will buy and eat the cookies. No ponies with allergies, no ponies on diets, no ponies who just don't like them, etc.
2. She assumed every single pony eats the cookies at the same time. Nobody already eating them during the hours that they're still selling cookies to others. Nobody saving them for another day, or to share them with someone else. Just EVERY pony eating them at an exact certain time.
3. She expects every pony to run outside as soon as they eat the cookies, so she can see their reactions. Most likely they would just look in the mirror, get annoyed, wipe their mouths, and that's it. It's not like everyone would randomly leave their house to scream on the street.
I don't really know how she expected this plan to work. It would be anticlimactic. Only a certain percentage of ponies would eat the cookies, and not all at once, and even those who did, Rainbow Dash wouldn't get to see the reactions of most of them.
Cranky: looks in mirror
Dash: *replaces hair with shunk*
Cranky: puts on shunk
Shrunk: grrrrr
Me: It was at that moment cranky knew...he messed up

It sort of fits with the classic zombie movies. The first ones always had some kind of commentary on society. For instance, Day of the Living Dead was making fun of the mindless nature of your average American consumer that just buys anything that look nice just because and no other reason...the whole movie took place in a super mall and the zombies were always more interested in the stuff on sale and the shops than the survivors. It was fun to see something like this come up, good fun
This is my favorite episode in the My Little Pony series
I don't like zombie movies either but I know the episode title is a reference to the zombie movie 28 days later a R rated movie proving this show isn't just for kids and I thought fluttershy was deemed off limits for pranks in griffin the brush off also replacing a hairpiece with a skunk is just cruel.
I don't like zombie movies or zombie tv shows I think they are boring which is why I don't watch any zombie movies or zombie shows.
The most G-rated zombie appocolypse ever. :P
I think the pranking spree may have been triggered by stress from Wonderbolt training. Maybe she wasn't able to prank for a long time and she's making up for lost time. And RD may have forgotten Pinkie's warning against pranking Fluttershy, maybe even thought it shouldn't be such a big deal because of Fluttershy's character development.
Great way to teach Rainbow a lesson. She doesn't seem to take verbal lessons very well. Ever. No matter how well stated. And I thought the rest of the Mane 6 were pretty clear at the start of the episode.
This was a.......humorous episode(as was this reaction). Some of Rainbow's pranks were good and fun to watch(especially the scene with Celestia getting overrun with scrolls again😆) and some.......kinda harsh. I understand the view point from the the citizens of Ponyville, there are some pranks that are meant to be funny and there are the ones that are not. I'm actually glad that Pinkie took her part in this episode seriously. As much as she loved to pull pranks like Rainbow, she was able to put that side of her at ease and take her friends feelings into account; which is what I like to see from her sometimes.
The scroll thing was a repeat from Griffon the Brush-Off, but amped up a bit. Still funny. XD And yeah, glad to see Pinkie acting responsibly in this one. Her character development hasn't been as significant as some, but she really has matured a lot over the seasons.
Well, not so much the first use of a whoopie cushion but rather, the first use of a *_fart joke_* in a My Little Pony cartoon, EVER!! Quite a feat for a so called "show for little girls", eh? :P
Yeah, well there was the fart-like sound effect that was Rarity's sneeze back in Gauntlet of Fire, but that was nothing compared to this. XD

A semi-recent episode with Rainbow pranking however is What about Discord when she and DIscord were mimicking each other to confuse Twilight. It wasn't the main focus though there either but it's clear that Rainbow still enjoys pranking from time to time.
Hmm, well I wouldn't really consider that a prank, but yeah, I can believe she still likes to pull pranks. My issue was the fact that after all the growing she's done as a person, that she would still have so little respect for her friends, Fluttershy especially. Some of those pranks were just downright mean, like the skunk.

Honestly, I’ve seen hyper realistic cakes before there’s a girl on RUclips that I watched a video just yesterday of her, making a hyper realistic cake of a capybara, and it literally looked like a real capybara. So like I bet, it’s not that hard to make one lot like a sewing machine(obviously, I mean for someone who designs, hyper realistic cakes if they do it on the daily and they know how to design hyper realistic cakes I bet she was sewing machine wouldn’t be that hard for them still be a challenge, but not difficult, whereas if you put someone who’s never made a hyper realistic cake and then, in that case, I could see why the sewing machine hyperrealistic cake would look stupidhehe

7:18 For some reason, this moment reminds me of a scene from the Godfather. Of course if they had used a 'horse head' in this case, it could have been seen as redundant. Using a pig was a decent substitute.
Overall, I found this episode very entertaining, even though a few of the pranks went too far.

Imagine if there was actually something wrong with the cookies and you just see everyone walking around with like missing limbs, their lips chewed off, the smell of death In the air and the once live bodies of Twilights and Rainbow Dash's friends. Kids who tuned into that episode would be in shock to find this wasn't about friendship anymore. It's about surviving

I have the oddest picture of Starlight seeing the massive prank in action either when she wanted to make a trip to a store or just looking out the window...and either just backing up into the castle or shutting the curtains with a shake of her head.
in all seriousness, I understand how you feel about the reverting, but, I have a feeling this episode was addressing a moral relating to the trend of practical jokes/pranks and Social Experiments going on in our community now. yes, it would make perfect sense if it was in the earlier seasons....BUT, the whole trend and controversy of pranks and social experiments wasn't a concern that needed to be addressed back then, so it makes sense to me why they made it into this episode now, so that's something to keep in mind, it's similar with the moral in Stranger than Fanfiction, which I feel applies to all fandom communities, not just the MLP Fandom communities. most of this season's morals is covering ground for guidelines of kids growing up in these times, as well as telling the more adult masses as well.
anyways, I digress--I thought this episode was amusing. a bit predictable, yes, but still fun to enjoy. I feel like it could've benefitted from an added air of suspense if they showed part of the Zombie Prank in action in the beginning, and the episode focused on how it got to that point, similar to Saddle Row and Rec. But, as it is a family friendly show and in general a children's program, I can understand that it would scare some younger audience members.
(....still, I feel like Starlight would just have either a flat reaction or just feel like all of Ponyville is weird tonight. I wonder if she had a box of cookies to herself as a study snack)
It would have been funny to have a stinger scene at the end showing Starlight doing something, like maybe biting a cookie and freaking out over the rainbow dye. Also wished that with all the derped eyes in this, that Derpy had been in there with non-derped eyes. That would have been priceless!
How cool is it that, a thunderstorm is happening when watching an episode like this. I love horror films or at least older ones. This would of been so...AWESOME!!!
Heh, that might have been cool, but it was a very isolated storm cell that was moving through quickly. I think it basically thundered a couple times while I was recording, and that was it, sky never even got really dark.
That's how it's like here in Michigan.

Oh, this was funny all right, but it's faaaaar from the hardest I've ever laughed. There have been many times I've laughed so hard I can barely breathe for a few minutes. Those are typically when I'm watching something with others in private though. I honestly am kinda hoping that there will be an episode moment somewhere in MLP during a reaction where I literally have to pause the video because I end up laughing too hard. XD
I have seen not one person point out that the name of this episode is a reference to 28 days later and I am going to change that, which also makes the zombie prank more interesting based on that reference
