This makes me think how some method actors who get so deep into their character role they actually forget for a moment that they’re playing a character. You may think this sounds ridiculous but there have been cases of some actors who fall so far into the role that for a little while they forgot who they really were.
Yeah. Like Jared Leto (SS Joker) and the guy who played Nosferatu.

Which still doesn't make this episode objectively good.
Don't get me wrong, I know of some cases where actors get into their characters too deep but this level of craziness and rushed conclusion make the overall lesson of this episode quite... confusing and unsatisfying at best.
Not to mention that Fluttershy's character was over-thefricking-roof. I will never believe that she would straight up abandon her kindness and love for animals and her friends without noticing, you know, the typical line "Wha-no- WAIT! I didn't mean that! *sad face* " And how did she return to her normal self so easly?
I myself wouldn't and won't recommend this episode to anyone since there's only few things this episode get's right and many more that it gets wrong.
But in all honesty, I LOVE this episode because of these few good things. I mean, how can I resist all of those characters she played?! It's pure gold for me!
So yeah, subjectively AWESOME, objectively... you already know.
Nazo-kage, I saw a movie once where an actor got so deep into his roles that they affected his real life. Eventually, while playing Othello, he strangled a woman who his confused mind thought was his wife, who he was imagining as Desdemona. Damn; can't remember the name of the film!
Well I do love acting as Discord, but if I had chaos power I'll make it rain chocolate if you want to. I mean who doesn't want chocolate rain, or give you wings you can fly around and relax at the sky.
She apologized for each previous personality during the firing. Each one acted like a shield, and made her feel safe, I can see why she was reluctant to give them up.
Plus I’m wondering if she started to enjoy being the intimidating one. These were probably based off of ponies she had dealt with personally.
I think flutters might have a lot of suppressed rage issues.
Like Celistia is she afraid of what she might become. Celistia hesitant to use her power, and slow to use them so she doesn’t become Daybreaker. Flutters being shy because she fears her dark side.
I think everyone is afraid on some level of their "other" side (good fears their dark, bad fears their good/light side), including Chrysalis.
Or like twilight in EG when she was terrified of becoming her evil persona

More things I learn about Fluttershy, then more sure I am that Fluttershy is literally like my friend Aurora. She is also so nice, helpful, she's not that shy like Fluttershy but she has so much power but she is afraid to use that power when she should because she is afraid to turn into something evil like Fluttershy and my friend on the other hand, he is like Twilight a bit.
OMG this is the deepest analysis i have ever read about Fluttershy and i love her. R u a psychologist??? Bcs this makes a lot of sense. A pony as nice as Fluttershy sure have face some morons whom see her as a weak "person", so supressed rage makes sense.
Maybe her changing personality is like a second meaning to her cutie mark, as butterflies change from catipilars. Besides, this isn't the first time she's changed- There were the Flutterbat and Iron Will Incidents.
There's another similarity between these encounters as well- Fluttershy has been shown to retain some of the adapted personalities after the Issues have been resolved.
I did love Rarity's expressions when Fluttershy kept reappearing.

Okay. I think i speak for everyone when they saw this episode when i say. "Who are you, and what have you done with the real fluttershy?"
I loved this one, and pretty much because of what the answer to "Why did she go to these ponies" is. Because it's funny. Yeah the story was kind of weak, but this wasn't a narrative/plot focused story. It was a story that was using the plot as an excuse to just have fun. And this ep was hilarious. I can't remember the last time I laughed this hard at an ep. It's pretty much the writer's style, he's very much a writer that likes to just take a story, and see how much fun he can have with it. While still having an overall decent if not amazing narrative holding it together.
Yes Fluttershy's turn around was fast, yes she could have grovelled more, but at this point, we've seen that enough times to know how it would go, that they'd forgive her, and this whole thing would turn out fine. So why go through the motions when by this point, the Mane 6 are so close to each other that it's really unnecessary? I get the issues there, and again, it wasn't exactly the strongest narrative, but the shear raw FUN more then made up for it for me.
Also, Fluttershy is the greatest method actor in Equestria.
Also also, fun bit that people seem to miss. This all took place over two days, not one. So makes all the traveling they do make more sense, AND why the ponies were back in the store shopping, it was the next day. We know this, because as Rarity was on her way out of the store she said the fashion show was tomorrow.
Good point actually... huh, I guess I *might* have been a little too critical to the writer (Hamilaton was his name?), he does seem be the type of guy who likes to have fun with what he's working. "Parental Glideance" and "Secrects and Pies" confirm that but it looks like he had full freedom in this one!
I think that you just made me respect this one writer a little bit more. Kudos to you, sir.
And wow, you are right about this episode taking over two days! Usually I don't miss little details like that...
Ryujin Josh is one passionate writer. But his writing is a bit weak this episode but his next writing should improve. Beside megan macathy josh is one of the best writers so don't worry.

A Fluttershy-focused episode? I'll happily go into those blind any day. =P
I can understand peoples' criticisms with this one, saying it feels like an episode that should've happened in an earlier season, that the resolution was improper or rushed, that Fluttershy's having more confidence issues, and so on. Well, it isn't that Fluttershy was reset to 0 for this episode. It was lack of experience in this particular field, which impaired her confidence, as you said. Remember, she was perfectly willing to assist at _Rarity for You_ until she saw what she was up against: an intimidatingly large store with a very elaborate set-up, and pushy and demanding Manehattan customers. She tried being herself for that first customer, and it didn't work; Rarity had to bail her out (I hated that fake-sounding laugh). It's the sort of thing that would make me reluctant to work in customer service of any kind, and I am.
Therefore, she took Rarity's advice on 'clothes make the pony' to heart, thinking the only way she could stay on the same level as the customers was to be a different self, thus creating Snooty/Severeshy, Hipstershy, and Fluttergoth. Unfortunately, she got too wrapped up in her roles, forgot she was a salespony, and started insulting customers, culminating in insulting her own friends and calling the raccoon family 'rodents', which, while shocking to hear her use such a word, isn't even correct, since raccoons are simply mammals. When she first blew up at the raccoon family, that was _my_ reaction: 'How could you?!'...
Perhaps the resolution did seem a little quick and confusing, but the way I see it, Rarity 'terminating' all three other Shys at once seemed appropriate for the situation, to make it clear that none of them were welcome, and that snapped Fluttershy out of it.
Fluttershy's always had the inner strength she thought she lacked. How else could she have made those others Shys? Perhaps she had a little too much, but she's an astounding actress (and able to swap between Shys in the blink of an eye (which, by all accounts, really doesn't make sense, XD)), and a lot more knowledgeable than she gives herself credit for. I'll always love and be proud of her no matter what comes her way, because seeing her grow over the course of this show has been one of my favorite things about it.
TPrower I agree with you on this the thing I liked most about this episode was all the callbacks the different characters ( even though they were mean) and how caring Rarity was she didn’t hesitate to run to Fluttershy’s side also that outfit at the end it was beautiful I hope we see it again not a great episode but a fun episode and seeing it again and reading your points makes me think about the episode in a different light it’s funny I agree with you a lot when I see your comments and listen to your commentaries 😊
I agree with a lot of what you said, but I think Rarity firing Fluttershy's personalities one by one took great chunks out of her to get Fluttershy to snap out of it, and I think Fluttershy knew she'd done wrong by her third personality and that's why it seemed like a complete 180 right out of the blue. That makes it sound a little more timed better but still.
It seems like a 180* because we are used to people BEING characters rather than merely acting.
However, as Flutter said to the Raccoons, it was merely pretend, acting.
When looking at it that way, it do make more sense.
But, yes, she did seem to be fully into it, but this is not really entirely unheard of either, especially among actors, that a few go so up into their characters that they even forget who they are.

Nah, it is the air of pretending and slight lunacy, coupled with her being friends with Pinkie Pie that she may temporarily use the same location(and reality?)-warping abilities that Pinkie has.

You do realize that Flutter is also voiced by Andrea right? Maybe Pinkie rubbed off on Flutter.
This episode was a hoot. Shy basicly took the "baffle them with bullshit" approach. And it was funny watching her do that quick change. Especially when she had Rarity fire all three characters seperately. XD As for why she's so good at that quick change, remember she did work as a fashion model at one point in the early seasons. I figure it's a skill she picked up from that.

I think it’s cause fluttershy is very understanding person. I mean she is very considerate to others and observant of others likes. She is good at picking up details. It makes sense she is good at acting.

Thanks for an honest review! I was left scratching my brain about the abrupt change, weak path the the lesson and the sharp biting comment from Fluttershy as well. Plus: everyone was fine with her apology? I thought maybe someone got sick and couldn’t finish writing the episode so they told a different writer to wrap it up for them. To me it didn’t flow at all. I think they set Fluttershy back and I didn’t like that as she had worked hard to learn how to balance her confidence before. Seriously- nobody called her out and fleshed out a better ending. Not the best writing in my book. I don’t blame you for feeling confused. Good job on the review, don’t worry about when you get the reactions out- we’ll wait for you.😉
im actually thinking of making a video reviewing this episode but the way i see it - Rarity started it by doing that really bad laugh the first pony had so it gave fluttershy the bad idea of being like the customer is what helps out to begin with and then later she is encouraged by the raccoons to do the whole different look option ~ as for how it ended yes it could have been better - instead of her noticing that there were no more customers after everyone had already left there could have been more conflict if the ponies did something about fluttershy instead of just walking away/out - an idea i had was what if Discord was involved say he was on "vaction" which would also explain why he wasnt in the movie and just got back and wanted to see fluttershy only to see fluttershy the way she was acting and convince her to act normal kinda like how she did for him

The message of this episode is that you don't need to be another person in order to assert yourself, you yourself have the ability to do it. Which is the reason why she still acted the way she was in the end. So, don't be too angry at Fluttershy, she has progressed a lot in terms of assertiveness and courage.

Fluttershy losing herself in the characters was terrifying. Lol I was rolling when Rarity has to fire each one individually. And I love how Rarity didn’t think it was a serious issue until she heard that Fluttershy called the raccoons...well....y’know. “W-w-wha...RODENT?!” 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Ok, so Rarity went to Applejack before Fluttershy for this??? Either Rarity just forgot what happened in "Honest Apple", she took a rock or gem to the head off-screen since that episode, or she just didn't learn that you do NOT go to Applejack for help on anything fashion related! But who knew Fluttershy was THAT good in role playing?
For a while, part of me was thinking Starlight was gonna show up and put on her Guidance Counselor hat on for a 3rd week in a row and try to talk Fluttershy back to her senses. Maybe she decided "i'm not doing that again this week" and stayed out of this one lol

Well, she didn’t really need some expert on fashion. She probably just needed someone assertive enough to hold their ground against the snooty ponies of Saddle Row. Which is probably why she went to Rainbow Dash first and Fluttershy last.
Cam Miller hang on just because the honest Apple episode showed that applejack didn't like fashion she still learned her lesson on being too honest and rarity knew that
angel rain I was just thinking more about Applejack's temper and her knowing next to nothing about fashion, but Fluttershy has some knowledge in that area, so i thought Rarity would go to Fluttershy before Applejack. Unless she just needed an assertive pony for the job. Plus, If it's Applejack that had to deal with those ponies, we could've had a different problem if she had to deal with more ponies like the first pony that Fluttershy served. I don't see AJ taking that for very long before losing it and go off on the ponies. Fluttershy has a temper now too, but i don't think it's as bad as AJ's
On Fluttershy's knowledge and skill with fabric crafts. First, sewing is very different from knitting. Second, Fluttershy knows some terms and can identify general types of fabric, but that doesn't mean she knows more specialized things or can access that knowledge under pressure. There are things I'm passionate about that I'll draw a complete blank on when stressed.
When it’s something you don’t do much, it always seems out of character. Perhaps she can feel that confidence inside of her, and feels who she should or could be, but then becoming that, when you’re so used to being someone else, especially around those who know you as you are or have been, it can be really hard.

Ok, we've seen some bad ass fluttershy here.
I like the episode up until Fluttershy's half-assed apology to the racoons. You'd think she of all ponies would actually be sincere.
At first, I was really excited for this episode because I had thought it would be about Fluttershy and Rarity but hey, I'd take a Fluttershy based episode any day. It didn't take long for her to take charge in the boutique and that was good, for the most part. I'm not gonna lie, Fluttershy got into those characterizations a little too deep. I had this happen to me in my younger days and felt a little self conscious and embarrassed about it. But anyway, I did like those three impressions that she created, they were fun. Of course, the obvious choice for me is the "Warrior of Inner Strength" Fluttershy and the dress Rarity made for her was very nice. Overall, this was a nice episode, not much else I can say about it.

Also I think she chose fluttershy last because she didn't want to pressure her in the first place. I mean if it was me and I had to choose the most willing friend out of my group I wouldn't just choose the shyest person straight up. In this case fluttershy is the most shy in raritys friend group not depending on skill or personality I think rarity would still choose a friend who had good communication or at least was confident the most.
And evidence for that is she chose rainbowdash first who is arguably the most confident in her friend group. Even if she didn't have the skill or personality to work she still knew rarity and just like when rarity opened the shop RD had no idea who to hire however she was still able to confidently make a decision without help or pressure or panicking however in fluttershys case she does this a lot when making hard decisions.
just to be honest and to bring my opinion... though for sure some people may be irritated with how fluttershy was here, it would kinda be a little harsh for her, bc at first when we were still getting to know her in the first season, some people always get annoyed or irritated with how shy, quiet and sensitive she always was. Now she is adjusting from it step by step, though it may be too far, now she gets disliked for being the opposite of how she was before.
Crystal Wing True enough. She is working with demanding customers so that might be the cause of her sudden change of attitude. My opinion and theory.

As someone who suffers from an identity/personality disorder, its really fascinating how they portrayed the split personality of Fluttershy in this episode. Its actually quite well portrayed, im very surprised.
Except she was acting . Split personality is way severe. You can’t just turn it off or switch off like fluttershy does here.

I love dark Fluttershy
I don't think rarity was looking for someone who had skills or the right personality, I think she was just looking for someone who was willing to help. In this case a friend, like she said she wanted a friend to run her store because I think this goes back to when she first opened the shop, where her friends were confused on the whole "what would rarity do?" In the end rarity and her friends learn that her friends know her and shouldn't try to think like her. Mabye when rarity was choosing a friend to run her store she thought of that lesson. This links back to my point that rarity doesn't care about skill or personality she just wants a friend who is willing because she knows her friends know her best.
Someone else pointed out this episode probably would have been better with Ocellus; since the quick character changes would have made much more sense while retaining the feel of a timid character stepping out of their comfort zone.

Except she has has school.
And she's a bloody kid. Who you don't leave alone in the middle of a city like Manehatten.
Kids walk to and from school everyday in NYC. Also its clear Rarity's shop is in a very upscale neighborhood that's probably quite safe.
Also it's a tv show and with that being said: Rarity honestly should have closed the shop before putting it in the hands up someone she held little confidence(ie Fluttershy).
Still against the law for a teacher to leave a student there on there own. As a teacher and an adult, it's a very irresponsible thing to do. Teachers have to provide a chaperone. Which leaves it redundant since that person can run the shop.

I know why Fluttershy is good at selling, she's uses a different kind of Stare, How about Desire Stare. The stare changes when the Personality or persona changes.
This was a funny and a good Fluttershy episode, I loved it!

This episode definitely comes back to Putting Your Hoof Down. It seems that when she gets the confidence to act, she can definitely get carried away. In fact, that can be seen in Filly Vanilli. She didn't have the confidence to sing in public, but when she got going, she did stray from the "rehearsal". She was dancing all over the place and poor Big Mac was having a hard time to keep up.
Fluttershy showed huge signs of becoming the mask in this episode.
Maybe when Rarity dismissed Fluttershy's three personalities Fluttershy herself "woke up" in a sense and realized all the wrong she had done while she had been acting as those three personalities. It's almost as if when Rarity fires these three characters she's actually releasing the real Fluttershy. That's the best explanation I can come up with.

Watching it this time, i reflected on that it was similar to "Putting your hoof down", in that she went overboard in a character type, or as it is here, SEVERAL characters, and removed too much of herself in the process.
It may very well have been "pretending" to her this time though, but it required Rarity, who at first hired her, to get her out of all three personas, so i'm not sure she realized how far she was driving those personas, at least not while she was in them.
We know that Fluttershy has a mean streak that she normally only shows in extreme situations, and otherwise it mainly shows in her sassyness.
I think these points go a long way to explain her character in this episode.
...and her Pinkie-esque teleportation is thanks to her friendship with Pinkie + the general air of pretend and weird.

I think Fluttershy just really needed to definitely end all of these characters, by making Rarity fire them all. Each one of them. I know it sounds weird, but I can understand this behavior. I think she wouldn't just feel right, after engaging herself so much into these roles to just give them up, without any kind of definitive end. Without getting rid of them.

So Fluttershy got carried away with her characters. She looked good as a goth. And at 15:38 I saw Inky Rose. I wonder if Inky knows that goth pony ? And how about an episode with gothic ponies ? For example when summer vacation is over and the new school year is about to start, the cutie mark crusaders are sad because they have to study and do homework again. Inky Rose hears this and she approaches them and she suggests that they should wear there emotions. So she offers them some gothic clotes, and the fillies accept. At the first day of school the crusaders enter dressed as goths, and Cheerilee, the other students are speechless. Cheerilee asks them why are they dressed like this and they explain that they are sad and disappointed because summers over. In recess Diamond Tiara asks them where they got those clotes, they tell her and after school Diamond Tiara buys some clotes from Inky Rose. Even Silver Spoon buys some. With a lot of students buying gothic clotes, the main 6, Spoiled Rich and the other parents have come up with a way to cheer the foals up, or the foals are going to spend the entire school year dressed as goths. And how would Sandbar, Gallus, Silver Stream,Ocellus, Yona, and Smolder look as goths ?

I LOVE this episode, first because i really like seeing main characters acting out of their element, but i also love it for reasons that only an Actor (like myself) could understand... Specially a method Actor.
I don't blame Applegeek for not considering this ep one of his favorites since he doesn't seem like the type that practices acting...
But either way i still enjoy watching this Ep and reactions A LOT and i could definetly go on a rant about why i think it's great but I don't feel like Writing too much right now so i will have to leave it here.
This episode was really enjoyable, except for the little bit where Fluttershy went too far, but it was nowhere near as bad as Putting Your Hoof Down, so I can live with it. Loved seeing Fluttershy act like different ponies, that was great, don't know which one is my favorite. This was a fun one. Really enjoyed it.

Holy moly, Fluttershy!
Ok, Ik its an old show but I couldn't stop rewatching reactions and I noticed things. This can go 2 ways, either she has a split personality due to some built up trauma (either that bullying he received as a filly or smth else) and it seperated her personality. U can see the proofs as how despite being "Shy" she's demanding, agressive, possesive, hateful, ignorant, or logical at times. These might be her split personalities and they don't show her switches. My guess as to why most are negative is cause she needs one personality to be put out in society, even if its not a best choice, its shyness as it can change its levels and doesn't affect morals. But the dark sides act like a shield in case she's hurt or feels hurt or just is stressed by the situation, she also picked up her friends' traits like Twi's organized list making, Apple's honestly and etc. Another way this can go is that she's really insecure, being in character makes her feel powerful. Also that top comment by bar0nger is what I think of how the 2nd way is. Also I think Discord and her are a perfect pair. Reason is despite being opposite, they can be exact same. Discord thrives in chaos but he treasures friendship more than chaos. Fluttershy does the same, but despite her loving friendship, she can throw those away for self-security/want and that is also her dark side. Tho discord doesn't has one as his chaotic side is his orignal/non-dark side but these two are polar opposites yet exact same at times. So I wonder, if Discord saw Fluttershy like this, how would he bring actuall Fluttershy outta her or will she like come to her senses as they both know e/o's darkest secrets
Maybe Fluttershy learned warping and teleportation from Pinkie Pie and/or Discord?

I think I'll call this a meh episode. Not bad, but not great. I like all the costumes and Fluttershy's personality swaps were amusing but the moral....I'm still trying to figure out? Don't put on acts that go against your personality? Don't get caught up in your acts? I guess I can see that working but the rushed ending kinda nullifies that. She literally insulted her friends, you don't just give a tiny apology and everything's peachy! There's work that needs to be done before all's forgiven.
Episode is ok in my opinion.

What if she have a personality problem since the beginning, that’s why she shy because it’s the only good personality she have the rest of it just mean and creepy and it need a certain situation to show her other personality.
(This is what I think and this is for all the Fluttershy fans out there who were also disappointed about this episode, I expect everyone to respect my opinion, I also understand if there are any arguments towards this claim. To be honest, I understand Fluttershy's problem in this one. I believe that she was lost in character and the one thing that she needed to learn was to stay in control while being in character; but if we're talking realistically, then sure Fluttershy believed that she needed to act a certain way for other ponies, but I can see this happening in real life as well (even to the best of us). Most people in our world think that we need to act cool in order to be with the cool people and most people think that they have to have the same perspectives as others in order to fit in. Fluttershy is basically showing us what would happen if we go too far, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic is a show that teaches many people about the problems we have in our world and Hasbro had to show it in some kind of way. I think having Fluttershy show that to us is more effective because she is usually the more innocent character in the show.
You know, I was thinking about something totally off the rails when you were talking about how Fluttershy could be "mean" at times. My thought was, could her "Stare" be a collection of her firm, mean self showing in the eyes to such an intensity while her body shows the "Kind" part of her? I imagine for the animals of the MLP universe, such a contrast would be more than a bit terrifying. Sure, the stone-turning creature managed for a few moments against her stare but it ultimately wasn't mean enough and fell prey to hers being stronger. I know I'll get some backlash for this but just want to say that this is all just THEORY since who knows what they see in her stare?
For example if you have anyone who you know in your life who's nice, always calm or in control in a good way, then imagine them if that person ever "snapped" (even if you have never seen that happen), I will bet the very thought or imagination of that scenario would be more than you'd like to see or deal with. That is how I imagined when I thought about her Stare or how she was acting in this Fake it til you make it episode. No one wanted to see, much less deal with Fluttershy with the way she was and preferred her sweeter self. It would also kinda explain why the stare wouldn't work on a being like Discord since he's always mean or doesn't seem to care what others think of him (with the exception of caring about Fluttershy after they became friends, so who knows? Maybe the stare will work on him now?)
Oh, and I just wanted to say that I loved your reactions to everything in this video! The confusion, the reaction to Goth Fluttershy, and more. You're one of my favorite reviewers and have had "Subscribe" from me ever since I found you. :) Keep up the good work! Just one question... whenever you do the review, I get the feeling you do this much earlier (like morning-noon) and then if you have to go off to think and come back. You are doing it in the evening (like late sometimes). Am I wrong?

I understand that you have a problem with Fluttershy acting totally out of character, being mean and seemed not have learned a lesson from this. This ending confused me to, but overall i liked this episode, it was fun. Andrea Libman did a great job here.

Okay watching it again and listening to your points on it, this episode isn't as bad as I first thought. Still not my favorite, but I don't detest it as much.
My opinion on the ending hasn't changed though. Rushed resolutions that don't add up in the overall picture.

@Slender Mane The producers probably thought something out for organizing clothes for MLP and it coincidentally became the acronym SCP for Season, Color and Price.
If they wanted to relate to SCP as for Secure Contain Protect than they would make it different. Probably they already had with the thing that Bon Bon was this secret agent for hunting down creatures.
I don't think Bon Bon was a reference to anything SCP Foundation-related. There are so many secret agent stuff around that are waaay bigger that it's very unlikely. My only reason for assuming the acronym in this episode was intentional was that it just sounded oddly specific. My guess is, if they didn't plan to reference anything with it, they wouldn't have created an acronym for it. They would just have Rarity say "Season, Color and Price" and leave it at that. And the only thing around that is even remotely related to this acronym is the Foundation. If you put these 3 letters into Google, the first thing that pops up is the Foundation. It just sounds too specific, but how could I possibly know for sure... These guys have done some crazy references before, especially with episode 5's title this season.

Of course fluttershy was the last pony for rarity to ask, She's shy and nervous so it makes sense since she's keeps going back to her shy-ness which is really hard to move from. Since i'm shy and nervous when meeting new people and even to old friends still. Its hard to move from it for some people.
to anyone who argues about fluttershy's knowledge of clothes and such, remember this, no matter how much you know about something, putting it into practice is a lot harder. like i've seen people commenting about fluttershy's ability to stitch and sew should be much better but first off, books aren't cannon, second, we've just yet to see fluttershy critique and wear clothing, not make it herself. thirdly, its always easier to critique someone elses work than your own and find flaws in it. fluttershy never done this herself from what we can, canonically, see. with this aside, working in a retail shop knowledge is often more appriciated than the ability to make clothes. your not there to sell your own clothes or style, your there to sell to the style of people who shop there. ive met people like the ones fluttershy plays here who become rude to problematic or people who waver and dont know what theyre looking for themselves. rather than rush up to them and comment or force them to pick something, or worse yet like fluttershy do, insult something they have picked, is a giant nono no matter how long you worked retail. just smile, wait until they come over, or leave them alloooooone... some people dont want a sales persons opinion and thats ok too but for some sales people that is not a option to not ask them how to dress or what would suit the person most etc. also, as applegeek mentioned, she has been seen commenting about clothes and such before... BUT it was only negative stuff, meaning this makes sense seeing how rarity really wouldnt like someone who knows only to critique but no positive or constructive feedback.
