Actually, Robbie Steinhardt , who's also the violinist does the vocals on this. Steve Walsh does harmony on this and is playing the B3 organ. To fully appreciate it you have to listen to Apercu, which precedes this, it's part of the " suite "
    And sweet it is!👍👍👍🤠

It was fun to see you react to Kansas so positively. These songs have been my jam since they first came out. Yes, I'm ancient. Older than the beetles -- the band AND the insect. ••• Thanks! PEACE!!!

That acoustic rhythm guitar at the end is so uplifting. The first album is just class from start to finish.
I saw them on three occasions - the tightest band I've ever seen .

Hey Wayne! KANSAS! This is where it all started, the freshman album. Back in the day we just knew this was the start of something great. Such a phenomenal band!😎

The abrupt start is due to the ending of the previous song " Apercu "(you should listen to both together)..Robby(RIP) Steinhardt the lead vocalist here, nails it...the usual great musicianship here...and Kerry Livgren's genius songwriting...masterpiece is an understatement...and they did this without quite knowing their way around a studio, how production/engineering works...a sign of the greatness to come
Lyrically, Kerry Livgren was commenting on the " ecology " movement(the precursor to " global warming " and " climate change ")

Another unique and amazing outro. The best Kansas album. Robby was the lead vocalist on this and was the right choice. Can't go wrong with any of their albums right thru 1980. Peace.

I see you've been checking out the early Kansas for the most part. You should check out "Hopelessly Human" from Point of Know Return.

Yes, such a good song from "Song for America!" They all are though, to be fair. "Lamplight Symphony" is beautiful!

Not my favorite Kansas because it's not very well produced in my opinion. But it's still a great album. You should check out something from their more polished era as a comparison. For example, "The Spider" which is the greatest 2 minute prog masterpiece you'll ever hear!
