    Ain't no band who writes, plays and performs like Band-Maid! While I've watched Magie climb from an initial 6, when I first heard it, to a 7 and now an 8 (taken from a recent survey of my cerebral musical cortex ;-), I always appreciate the execution, sound and, once again, performance of all their songs... even starting with "Made In Japan," released in 2014 when I first became entranced with the Magical Maids. Thx, PoHe!

    Nice work looking into bands you haven't heard of - most has been said below so can't really add to it, but Joy Division - the name has a very dark origin although I am questioning that as I never looked it up. x

    Yeah, as said below, this song featured heavily in the first 15 minutes of Scream. All of Nick's stuff is worth checking out, but I adore 'Murder Ballads' ymmv of course. Scum from his earlier proto-punk band 'the birthday party' is also a gem. Nice work. x

    @andychisarick6879 6 дней назад

    You also make sense, re playing a whole side at a time. Bands used to agonize for weeks over song placement. There's a story where Al Kooper was helping Bob Dylan on- I think the album was Blonde On Blonde, not sure- but Al played keyboards, helped produce, was probly the full time designated driver since he didn't drink. Anyway the recording was DONE but Bob couldn't decide on the track placement, after 3 weeks or something Al quit arguing, left, & said he'd see what Bob finally decided when the album came out. So many of these reaction videos finish a song & CUT when the next song was obviously intended to be a part of the whole, not two separate pieces. A Led Zep song- Good Times Bad Times, maybe- & Van Halen doing You Really got me come to mind. A couple Black Sabbath reactions were utterly ruined that way too. Anyway. Great stuff, man. For some really cool rock n roll, something different but banging, I bet you'd love an album called UFO 2 One Hour Flying Space Rock. I think I got the title right. Close enough to find it, & a side of that UFO album will blow your mind, man.

    I think the sound mixing for this live performance is excellent. What I particularly like is that Haruna's drums sound very clear. However, I have one complaint. The piano sound is not recorded well enough. (This is not just true for this song. It is the same for the entire live performance that day.) This is just my guess... I think the output signal of the piano (probably an electronic piano) was not recorded. Was it a wiring mistake on the part of the sound engineer? Or did they think that the sound from the speakers in the venue was enough? Overall, however, you can enjoy good sound. --------- from Nippon *This is a text translated using Google Translate. I hope that I have conveyed my intention correctly.

    LOVEBITES - Rising lyrics: Failure or pride? The fear deep inside Success doesn't come with a few empty tries Fortune and fame, seem easy to claim But those who've succeeded defeated the pain Why give up on a life that you love? Play the game with no shame till the very end RISE AGAIN - though you're broken and scarred... You can choose, not to lose, you can build it again! DON'T LET GO - of what's deep in your heart You are free to fly, go and change your destiny! Too late to change? The past will remain But it's up to you to decide on a name Glory is not what miracles brought The path you have taken will lead you the way Why give up on a life that you love? Play the game with no shame till the very end LIVE AGAIN - with the vows in your heart Even if you get lost in the darkest of nights DON'T FORGET - that you've made it this far Show your scars with pride and believe your history... Sometimes we can't see the light anywhere Sometimes we don't have our luck in the air Almost like we've been left by ourselves I'm alone, you're alone, somewhere in the world But open your arms, look up and you will see an endless blue sky l believe, you believe, we will live out today So it leads to tomorrow! SOLO: midori / miyako / midori / miyako / both RISE AGAIN - though you're broken and scarred You can choose, not to lose, you can build it again DON'T LET GO - of what's deep in your heart You are free to fly, rise above your fate! LIVE AGAIN - with the vows in your heart Even if you get lost in the darkest of nights DON'T FORGET - that you've made it this far You are free to fly, go and change your destiny! ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) album: Clockwork Immortality 12/05/2018

    LOVEBITES new live LP (DVD/Blu-ray/CD) and also a new EP both will be released on August 28. „LOVEBITES EP II“ will contain new songs and also a re-recording of the band’s debut „THE LOVEBITES EP“ for a limited edition. „Memorial of the Warrior Souls“ is the live recording of last year‘s Tokyo concert during the Judgement Day tour. It features 7 live versions of songs from the „Judgement Day“ album including „Soldier stands solitarily“. And of course also the pre-releases „Rising“ and „We are the resurrection“, which was the opening track for this show.

    Hey Wayne. Glad to see you coming back to LOVEBITES and the Wolfpack 🐺. This concert was Sep 2023, it's being released on DVD on Aug 28, same day the new EP drops. Song comes from their 2018 2nd album, Clockwork Immortality. Lyrics by Asami, music by Miyako. Yeah, Haruna is a total beast behind the kit. 2nd song from this concert so far, "We Are the Resurrection" is the other one, check that out when you get a chance. The band will be in North America for the first time in Sep, but unfortunately just 4 shows, nowhere near either of us. (Atlanta, Dallas, LA, and San Francisco).

    This particular performance showcases the breathtaking live musicianship of this band and the kind of epic musical masterpiece they could collectively produce. (The keyboardist -- Alan Clark -- was a classically trained pianist.) You may have also noticed how Mark repeatedly establishes eye contact with the keyboardist and drummer, and also roams around the stage to repeatedly establish contact with the bass player, and Hal on the other guitar: Mark has spoken of how important and magical it was to have that experience of playing with, and off of his bandmates, and it comes though in the quality of their live performances. Not only was Mark a guitar virtuoso, song-writer and composer for the band, but he always made sure to give all of the band members a chance to shine. Fun Fact: In addition to his unique sound, his finger-plucking genius, and his ability to produce complex emotions and nuanced transitions, Mark was actually left handed but was playing guitar with his right, whilst making it all look so easy! Mark is a great story-teller, and so many of his songs have an interesting backstory behind them. In this case, the title refers to the 'Telegraph Road' just outside of Detroit, which is a major north-south thoroughfare in Michigan. Mark was inspired to write the song while riding in the front of the tour bus as they journeyed down Telegraph Road, after he asked the driver about all of the urban blight in evidence at the time ("All these sings just say 'sorry but we're closed,' all the way down the telegraph road"). Knopfler was also reading 'Growth of the Soil' by the Nobel Prize winning Norwegian author Knut Hamsun; he was ultimately inspired to combine the two narratives / histories, and the result was a song about the beginning of the development along Telegraph Road, and the consequential (and sometimes sad) changes over the ensuing decades of industrialization, urban development and economic hardship. Another of my favourite Dire Straights performances is "Once Upon a Time in the West", which is also from the live Alchemy concert: It's very different and unique, but worthy of appreciation, not only because of Mark's guitar playing, but also because of the oft-missed double-meanings and deep socio-cultural commentary embedded in the lyrics.

    It's Surrealism. Each verse is a movie. I saw Dylan in 1966 on his famous world tour backed by the Hawks who later became the Band. I was barely 16. This tour was half folk with just him on acoustic guitar. Second half was electric. A brilliant concert and a life changing event for me. Dylan had put an end to the 2 minute mas produced pop songs, churned out from writers in the Brill Building in New York. Suddenly bands etc realised they too could write their own material, infused with their own experiences. If you understand Surrealism in painting you will under stand Dylan. Greatly influenced by the Beat poets like Kerouac and Ginsberg, who were reacting to post war USA and it's rigidity. Listen to Dylan's albums Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 and Blond on Blonde. Another classic is the Oh Mercy LP. A track on it called " What was it you wanted" is pure surreal Dylan. Americas greatest writer. Check the live solo version of "Johanna " from concert in the UK in 1965.
