It's nice to hear reactions to "deeper cuts" that other reactors skip over. I heard BOC for the first time in 72 and was immediately taken in. Their first album was just totally different than anything I had ever heard....Transmaniacon MC, Stairway to the stars, She's as beautiful as a foot, Screams.....any song off this album is great. Same goes for the next two albums....not a bad one in the bunch. Many of us "oldsters' consider their third album, SECRET TREATIES, as their best. However, I can't think of any of their albums that are stinkers. I would like to sway you towards their later albums, HEAVEN FORBID and THE SYMBOL REMAINS! Both of these albums do not get the respect that they deserve. Both of these albums are unbelievably well done and are so overlooked by so many other than true BOC fans. Three from HEAVEN FORBID....SEE YOU IN BLACK, HARVEST MOON, STILL BURNIN. Three from THE SYMBOL REMAINS......THE ALCHEMIST (video version), EDGE OF THE WORLD, STAND AND FIGHT. Thanks for keeping BOC around to listen to!

I really do appreciate your listening to the song first, then reacting. While I understand the copyright issues, most reactor's pause the song every 35 seconds and it drives me up the wall. Good job!

Meatloaf was paid $1000 for his contributions to this album, and had to create his part without any knowledge of the songs arrangement. Times have changed.

You HAVE to read the lyrics. One of the heaviest songs that I have ever heard. It addresses our irresistible urge to hate and kill one another 😢 "the more love you give the more you find" "how long will it take til everybody understands? That we need to fill our hearts with love again."

Love your reaction and that you enjoy the performance first. I've grown up with Dire Straits ...66 years young this year and I've always thought they were the tightest and most polished musicians ever. As for Mark....he's a genius in every way!! Love this version, love Alchemy in its entirety...best live album ever! This is a fab live version, but you should really check out Tunnel of Love from Wembley 1985....16 mintes of pure musical genius and the best 6 minute outtro ever!!!

I’ve never heard this version of this song . Typically she doesn’t do the whole lead vocal, but is a background singer. This is from their first lp which was synth pop , 2nd album was synth pop but more industrial, 3rd album was a combination of the 2nd lp sound , but adding more guitars and by the 4th lp pretty much industrial metal. Talk about a genre change.

Katy is heroin, Dr Wu is the guys dealer who is straight and always helps him find dope in a pinch. Then Dr Wu gets hooked on Katy himself and stops coming around. Our narrator goes to the seedy part of town to find some Katy and who does he find? Dr Wu has OD’d and is laying there with a needle in his arm. He stopped coming around because he started getting high on his own supply and overdid it

As are Fagen's and Becker's solo albums and The Dan's 21st Century CDs. Seriously, virtually every damn thing The Dan Boyz did was pure music genius. Any track from any of their albums, if released as a single, would have been a hit. Even their outtakes and the shit they left behind on the studio floor is better than most artist's best efforts. In your explorations, you will find that Steely Dan, YES, and Jethro Tull are the biggest, deepest, and most interesting rabbit holes modern music has to offer.

Was just watching an older reaction of yours, that being Bathory’s A Fine Day to Die, and noticed you loved it! I seen you didn’t post any more reactions to that band, if you are still interested in hearing more, you should definitely consider “call from the grave” or “enter the eternal fire.” Those are masterpieces of songs by the band and I actually like them way more than most of the blood fire death album.

@ awesome!! Love the channel btw! But ya those two songs would be good but really anything from their first 3 albums is always interesting to see what people think. Also I really think Enter The Eternal Fire might be the single most influential song for black metal’s future because there’s always countless songs I can point to that I can say “I sure know where that’s from.” Timeless classic!

They opened for Grand Funk Railroad in Dayton Oh. 1970. Everyone was stoned or tripping on LSD (it seemed). When the siren played, red lights spun around and you felt like you were that ambulance. It was an amazing experience for a kid.

The booming bass on this song is not all McCartney. He plays some of the notes, but if you removed it, it, might not even be very noticeable. The repetitive coda guitars are Lennon and Harrison. And Lennon on PIANO. McCartney's part is VERY simple, but he adds a few runs that add a bit to the ambience. ruclips.net/video/B6FPbd4KgKQ/видео.html Attention: 20:50 and 41:18

Saw Rory every time he came into the States in the 1970s. The energy was infectious--you'd leave a concert wiped out but ready to run laps. I think it was Melody Maker, back in the late 70s/early 80s which trashed one of Rory's albums, calling his rhythm section mediocre as well as Rory's singing. Anything from the Irish Tour, 1974 is worth catching, and there are a whole bunch of Old Grey Whistle Test vids out on youtube. Actually, saw a Midnight Special episode recently that had Rory on it.
