I discovered Rory by listening to this show on French radio. From that moment on I never missed one of his gigs whenever he played Paris. He was absolutely phenomenal.
Saw Rory every time he came into the States in the 1970s. The energy was infectious--you'd leave a concert wiped out but ready to run laps. I think it was Melody Maker, back in the late 70s/early 80s which trashed one of Rory's albums, calling his rhythm section mediocre as well as Rory's singing. Anything from the Irish Tour, 1974 is worth catching, and there are a whole bunch of Old Grey Whistle Test vids out on youtube. Actually, saw a Midnight Special episode recently that had Rory on it.
I was blessed to see Rory once he touched my life forever and forever be in my heart!
