From Rome, Venice or Florence, these are easily some of the most travelled and well known places across Italy. It's not like there's anything wrong with these places but in today's video I wanted to show you guys some locations across Italy that you've probably never heard of that you can add to your Italy itinerary that are hidden gems that I absolutely loved.
    There's everything in this video from incredible tropical destinations like the island of Ischia and the village of Vieste to special places in the mountains in the region of Abruzzo like Campo Imperatore and unbelievable castles like rocca calascio and roccascalegna. I've even included probably the strangest travel experience I've ever had in my whole life.
    I hope that you like this video and get to explore some of these hidden gems in Italy!

    Enjoyed your video Joe! I’ve been to Italy a couple of times. I need to visit some of the areas you shared with us. I have family from Abruzzo and will be visiting there next year spending a lot of my visit on that coastal side. Thanks again!

      Thanks! I love Abruzzo and I'm trying to encourage others to go to some of the less travelled areas of Italy because there is so much else to see. Enjoy your trip!

    Great informative video! Thanks for creating and sharing. Do you recall the name of the place in the valley where you can grill your own Arrosticini?

      Yes I think that it's located here but I haven't been in a while. I went there my first time in Italy but the second time it was closed. www.google.com/maps/place/Ristoro+Giuliani/@42.405468,13.7435126,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x1331cdecff89f973:0xa8875ce7bc031db9!8m2!3d42.4054625!4d13.7435302

    Nice video!
    I believe Rocca Calascio is where they filmed part of Ladyhawk and The Name of the Rose.
    I'm sorry you didn't like the seafood but I'm pretty sure that the octopus at 7:42 wasn't raw (probably boiled or steamed), otherwise it would've looked almost liquid, like a puddle in the plate.
    I don't think I've ever heard of anyone in Italy that has ever eaten raw octopus.

    • @JoeClement
      @JoeClement  Год назад +1

      Well they did tell me it was raw but maybe it was "cooked" in like a lemon juice or something which a lot of the dishes were there... either way I really did not enjoy it 😂

    Ischia is pronounced EEZ-KEEUH...even if you used the English "ch" sound, it would be EESHEEUH, not EESHKEEUH. And also Vieste is in the Gargano region so is referred to as the spur, not the heel. I understand how much you love Italy, so I recommend watching some RUclips videos on Italian pronunciation. Check out the free 30 day beginner series by Manu, of Italy Made Easy which I highly recommend. Nice work.
