Do allow myself to say that, The Beatles, were not talented, specifically. They were genius. Geniuses are not created at the Universities or Colleges..... because geniuses, GENERATE. What did they generate? A new sound. What do we have, 50 or almost 60 years after The Beatles? Well I tell you! The repitition of the repetition of the repetition of the repitition!
@@josegarcia2146 Spot on; but although Primrose Hill is lovely, it comes nowhere near the Lennon / McCartney composition song book we all know and love.
After 44 years, It's so nice to hear John's voice again, even if it's second hand. When I first heard the song, I didn't know who was singing, and I kept thinking, that's sounds so much like John Lennon. It's 100% filled a void in my soul that isn't empty anymore. I've listened to it a couple times a day ever since. Just like I used to do when I heard them on the radio when they first came out. I first heard John and the Beatles when I was 12 in 1964. (I want to hold your hand) I'm 71 right now, and I've got a large Beatles poster hanging over my sofa in my living room. (autographed poster, wind blowing their hair.) Beatles fans don't go away, they just get older! : )
I've been trying to attract some older viewers, so I really appreciate the share and letting me know your age. As you might have seen, I gave the song a "B" rating which means I like it. Take care.
I agree that it doesn't knock my socks off. So two things...1. They need time to hone their craft. 2. If they didn't have their names they wouldn't be given another chance. Your first effort needs to grab peoples attention especially the first song being put out there. That said. I hope they improve...people right or wrong will have an expectation.
“Hone their craft?” They are middle-aged men. John and Paul created their best compositions while they were in their 20s. It’s not fair to compare. All that said, I thought this song was very nice. If it was on the latest Paul McCartney album, it probably wouldn’t be a hit, though who knows. If it was a movie theme, it might get AirPlay. And even get nominated for an Oscar perhaps.
Spot on, it sounds very Lennon-ish, obviously the influence of Sean Lennon in its composition. Still, despite the dreaming glissandos and half-notes, it's a decidedly dour song of little to no musical inspiration. Back to Square One, guys.
It's sad because it's not easy for this young generation to share Beatles's sons songs, I mean it's out of time anyway. They are improving but it took years and years and now this song sounds like a puzzle of John Lennon's music... It's good, but not so refreshing...
Could you checkout HammerFall and their song called "Hammer of Dawn" it's a bit newer song compare to the "Hearts on Fire" video you reacted to, They have improved alot since that,
A lot of naysayers. When listening, forget who it is. No one can possibly expect another Lennon/McCartney. It's a pleasant melody. I didn't care for the production. It's kind of amateurish in places.
At best a poor reflection of the former. Too bad the sons did not find their own way like the daughters have. If not for the famous names of their fathers, this song would go nowhere.
Talent does not always get inherited.

True.
neither do producers lol
Next time someone says "wouldn't it be cool if the sons of The Beatles made music together?" we can tell them to listen to this.
Dhani seems to have figured that out.

Beautifully said!!
I’m awestruck - this song will do for Primrose Hill what Penny Lane did for Penny Lane.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
It's not a duet for only James sings and plays on the track. Sean only co-wrote the song
I see. The press made it out to be a duet.
It's a cooperation btw
@@B.R.0101 collaboration.
It's like Strawberry Fields with the life sucked out of it
I disagree, yet would not argue. It's a fair take.
More Cowbell!!!
LOL

they need to go to germany and play live on stage for 2 years and maybe then they will develope some tallent just like the beatles did........
is not Sean Lennon Ono is Sean Ono Lennon
...but you knew what I meant. At the same time, I try to get names right, so I do appreciate the callout/correction.
@@wallbangerreactions ok no prob...
It's no Hey Jude or Across the Universe.
But of course - neither was Now and Then.
Good point...though I did like Now and Then.
@@wallbangerreactions yes - me too. For what it was. It was a fair epitaph to the Beatles. Although, there may be more to come???
Give these guys a break. What are most of us doing??? NOTHING 😑
You have a point.

Yeah, I wanted to like it more. Had to be honest as you are being.
Love it. Encore.
Cool.
It has Sean Lennon in the background.
I've heard both - that he's on it and he's not on it. ???.
James Campbell
??
I might be crazy but I really liked it.
Not crazy.
Well...they ain’t the Beatles, are they?
Not quite. Good song, but not Beatles level for sure.
Harmonies?
MIght be on other songs on the album. I haven't listened to the whole thing.
Seems the Apple might fall far from the tree.
Or maybe they both inherited their musical talent from their mothers ...
Nice pun there.
@@wallbangerreactions 🙂
Sorry, it sounds like something they found in the cupboard. Maybe they should put it back.
LOL
I've heard worse stuff on the radio lately.
Can't argue that. Key word is radio.
I thought John and Paul were known for writing great rock and roll songs. James and Sean might consider taking a shot at something like that.
This is the only James McCartney song I've heard, so can't agree or disagree. Thanks for watching.
the beatles wrote 90% love songs.

Well said.
Never heard anything from Sean Ono of any value
I like Claypool Lennon Delirium. I think they've got some good music.
I like it, it‘s relaxing.
Cool
‘Forever’s a long word’ - not exactly “Let it be”.
Well, guess that's true.
Sounds a bit like Paul
Could you checkout HammerFall and their song called "Hammer of Dawn" it's a bit newer song compare to the "Hearts on Fire" video you reacted to, They have improved alot since that,
Alright, alright, alright already! Just kidding. Wednesday premiere.
They're no Lennon McCartney
Who is? A high bar for sure.
Actually they are, it's just their first names that differ.
I actually liked it. I expectedl worse.
Thanks Michele. As you likely saw, I gave it a B which means I like it too.
It sounds like A.I.
Ouch!
Sorry bur We waited it to take of. It just never did. He should make a lot more to practise just as others. Hope he didnt do that already
Most of the comments are finding this track underwhelming.
Yes, guitar not in tune.
Agreed.
Auto-tune much?
Not sure.
Didn’t think it was that good . Nowhere near anything that Julian Lennon ever produced from his life as a recording artist .
I've not done a deep dive into Julian. That would be interesting.
A lot of naysayers. When listening, forget who it is. No one can possibly expect another Lennon/McCartney. It's a pleasant melody. I didn't care for the production. It's kind of amateurish in places.
That's my take. Melody is good, but production is distracting.
Jeez....the guitars and vocal are way out of tune...the double track vocal might cut it for John but not for this pair....
I think lo-fi is a thing, and they chased it, but a straight recording would have benefited the song.
I actually liked his 2013 EP, but this sounds really derivative.
Can't comment as I've never listened to J.M. before this reaction. Appreciate your comment/opinion.
At best a poor reflection of the former. Too bad the sons did not find their own way like the daughters have. If not for the famous names of their fathers, this song would go nowhere.
I like The Claypool Lennon Delirium.
guitar out of tune 😢
Interesting. I have to admit I didn't notice.
@@wallbangerreactions First notes. Horrible
Yup!
too much added to voice, trying to sound like dad. or a beatle.....
Fair take.
It's boring, frankly.
I found it a step above boring, but understand where you're coming from. Thanks.
CRAP!!!
OK.
what a bunch of crap...
OK.
Good way to ruin the Lennon McCartney name.
Watered down at that least.
