thanks man. Love you tube and people like who are willing to share their time. I learned to play by ear and actually did a lot of the steel guitar fills in bands. I can't imagine how good i would be today if i had tools like this in the 70's and 80's. I did ok with the steel. stuff. It was good enough to get by and got a lot of compliments from other musicians. they weren't correct though but close. gotta remember back then the other players were doing the same thing as me.
Cool, I've been looking for tutorials on Ralph Mooney's parts on some of Waylon's songs, it's nice to find stuff that kind of covers those steel parts to the songs on guitar.
Been a while since a comment on this video, huh? I'm surprised no one previously mentioned the resemblance to Duane Allman. Couldn't pick a better person to 'channel' if you got to pick one right? Will be signing up to pay for the full lesson when I get a min. I can almost already play/sing the rythym but would like to add a bit of the lead in the middle or end to make it not so "campfire" to play it on just the acoustic, ya know...
Dadgum, friend. You are awesome. My favorite Waylon (and Moon)song. I can strum it fine, but I'm not in YOUR league on the lead parts. Again, that was awesome and THANKS!
I was checking out your website, are you from Michigan? I see you play in Holland/Zeeland area quite a bit. I will make it a point to come see you for sure! The Lonesome, Ornry & Mean album had a big influence on my songwriting which somehow led me to this link.
For the tutorials we generally run directly into Logic Pro X for the acoustic guitar through a preamp and then use various acoustic guitar effects in Logic Pro... Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Solo gave me goose bumps. Really awesome
OMG You are amazing those steel licks on your guitar Thank you man I will be tuning in on your music and sharing it. Love it

Good stuff.
That 2 string bend in the pedal steel section is gnarly! I wonder what gauge of string he uses?
I generally use D'Addario Light Top/Heavy Bottoms!
