That doesn’t sound like Waylon at all. If you want to sound like Waylon start with a Telecaster with flat pole piece pickups(if possible) an amp with a good clean channel and most importantly you have to play the way he played or you won’t sound like him.
@@travisowens8602 you do realize that Waylon didn't play all the guitar on his albums right? There are guitar tracks on his albums that have overdriven Fender amp sounds. This song is a classic example.
@@VitaTristis Yes I am aware of that, I’m almost positive Waylon played lead guitar on this song in the studio though. It’s. Good clean tone with a phaser. My comment was referring to Waylon’s tone on his guitar not anyone else’s except the guy in the video.
What kind of phaser are you using?. I got stuck with a small Stone which is ok but not giving me the Waylon sound. I know he used mxr in late 70s early 80s. I'm doing a tribute show so don't wanna show up sounding like Brad Paisley.
Great tutorial!!!
Can you put a tab up please
love waylon jennings! what pedal are you using or if none what pickups on you're tele ? I want that twang sound on mine ! thanks and wonderful playing
Marta Dyck Texas specials are a great pickup for Waylon's sound

How about a telecaster with a B Bender

I thought he used a maestro stage phaser .
How can I get tablature for that
You can access the tab with a membership at SixStringCountry.com!
I learned this lesson by watching misewell post the damn thing
Can you guys do Time is Love by Josh Turner
Good tutorial, but you’re completely off on his tone. Waylon never used overdrive or slap back delay.
No but the song has overdrive from the amplifiers..
@@VitaTristis I don’t know I don’t really hear any overdrive when I listen to it.
Didn't he use a phaser
@@jontauer6240 He did use a phaser a lot when he played live, he also used a Chorus and a flanger.
Thanks for nothing lol
