Impresario Mervyn Conn was responsible for staging the International Festivals of Country Music at the Wembley Arena, in London, for 23 years. The first festival was in 1969 with the final curtain falling in 1991.

First concert I ever went to. A friends Mom worked for the company putting the show on and got us front and center seats. Waylon was about 20 feet from us. Since then I have seen many many bands but none was a ever as personal as that. Waylon played like he was sitting in your living room. Laughed and carried on with the crowd. Never be another like him. RiP Ol Hoss.

I grew up listening to Waylon and I am still listening to him he was one of my favorite singers and he will always live on as the greasiest country singers ever ♥️♥️♥️
I just have to tell this story and old drinking man from my childhood always played this rocking country music and nothing else in his car sitting by the road side in a holler in the 70s Years later after I grew up I heard it again and it was Waylon What memories it brought back

One of my favorute is," What kind of reward Jesus have you got on me"..If any of you didnt hear this song, I strongly consider you look it up..I love Waylon, I love our Mother Country England!!! I was there that night. His first tour after his heart opperation and it was electric. So much missed and Country music (so called) isn't a patch On this.
Waylon was so fortunate to have the great Ralph Mooney as his steel guitarist.

Willie introduced Waylon to me outside of Hillsboro, TX at Carl's Corner in the late 1980s. The man had the most infectious laugh of anyone I've ever met. One of the highlights of my wild youth.
