      @@countrymusicguitarclassics Yep he does. I started learning this one but I them got stuck on Are You Sure Hank Did it This Way , to learn the Bm and how to change from a Barre chord to an open chords. The C major and Barre chords give me fits as I have some fingers that are not too bright LOL
      I guess I just will have to learnn this one now that Shane T did a lesson.

      I have 7 or 8 of them. The ones in the videos are either a black Takamine acoustic. They sound great plugged in. A nice acoustic/electric guitar. Then the sunburst one that you see in the latest videos is a Mitchell acoustic and I only cost me $130 or $140 when I bought! It It sounds nice though.

    Shane, I can't do that switch to drop D tuning but if I use a capo on the strumming pattern it's up a 4 count on each note but it doesn't look like your hitting the bottom of the d chord on the strumming?

    I have a quick question so I tuned my guitar to drop D and I have mastered the D major chord but I'm a little confused on the G chord I moved down to the 5th but do you only have two fingers pressed down on the strings to properly play the G chord?

    • @countrymusicguitarclassics
      @countrymusicguitarclassics  2 года назад +2

      Hi James. Good question. For that song yes. It might be best to not strum or pluck the 5 string(A string) when playing that G chord when using the drop d tuning. You can also place your pinky on the 5th string 5th fret. That kind of sounds cool when you add the extra D note in there.
      In the future I will do some videos such as Fishin In the Dark and some Hank Jr. songs that uses the drop D tuning and your drop the 5th string down a whole step too. Then you can make the G chord in a different way and get some cool sounds out of it.
      But yes for this this song for the G chord, you will be ok just pressing down just two strings. The 1st string and the 6th string.
      Thanks for watching and commenting!

    What strings are you hitting for each chord while your strumming? Please help me

    • @countrymusicguitarclassics
      @countrymusicguitarclassics  2 года назад +2

      No problem. If you are playing in standard tuning play the 4th string on down when playing the D Major chord. And play all 6 strings when you are playing the G major chord.
      If you decided to drop the top string(6th string) Down to Drop D tuning(like I am in the version of this video) then play all 6 strings for both the D major chord and the G major chord. Hope this helps!

    • @Jarcademis
      @Jarcademis Год назад

      Drop your low E string to a D. Then you can strum all 6 strings with that D chord. When the G chord comes around, move up to the 5th fret and just press the top two strings on the 5th fret with your index. May sound crazy when you read this, but if you try it you’ll open up a whole new world of Waylon possibilities 🤠

    I am allowed my opinion you are as well. My way of thinking is when you're playing the music that belongs to an icon like Waylon Jennings to alter it at all is sacrilege. Maybe no one else gives a shit. But it bugs me. Who am I?? Nobody. If it were me I'd try my hardest to do it like Waylon did just outta respect.

      youre aloud to play songs and make them sound in your own style. i change lyrics in songs all the time to help make it relatable. but go ahead and have yr opinion, i can also understand your side of your opinion. maybe he meant to change it to fit himself, or maybe he didnt know the right lyrics. in the end, who gives a shit? Outlaw country is all about breaking the rules. im sure waylon would appreciate someone trying to keep his music alive.
