    I recently bought a baritone. It came with Aquila strings and I switched them to Martin strings. I like them more than the aquílas

    Love it too ❤. I just changed the strings on my flight fireball to Worth BB 63 with unwinded D and G strings. Nice warm sound with an amazing sustain, but the D has a little to less tension. I will try the Worth CB 63 the next time. They shall sound brighter and do have unwinded D and G too. If there is the same with the D, I will change it to the winded original.

    Again Marco, a very passionate piece of music played with great feeling. Love the little walking bass lines.

    Beautiful piece!! As far as strings, I have tried several different baritone strings like Aquila Nylgut, Martin, Phd, Uke Logic Hard Tension, but my absolute favourites are Ko'olau Aho Fluorocarbon from the Ukulele Site in Hawaii.

    Beautiful piece. Love it on the baritone. I tend to use living water strings from Ken Middleton. All his strings are unwound so no squeak. 👍

    Without a doubt, my favorite strings are Natural gut strings from Boston Catlines. (Olav Chris Henriksen). To me there is nothing like natural gut strings. Unfortunately they are crazy expensive.....

    I have Pepe's Baby Baritone strings on my 19" Kala Super Tenor - a touuuuch floppy but sound great. I also have a (mostly) unused Kala Baritone with Living Water Baritone strings (no wound cords) that sounds fantastic but I just can't stretch my hands quiite enough to use it for a lot of songs.

    Use your favorite classical guitar strings. Drop the top and bottom strings. String up the middle 4.

      Really? You can use guitar strings on a bari uke? Not too heavy, or too much tension?

    • @mikevohs3467
      @mikevohs3467 Год назад

      @@kathyu4953 not regular strings. Classical strings. Do not use the biggest or smallest. String up 5,4,3,and 2. I don't buy high tension strings just normal tension. I have a custom baritone from Hawaii and that's what the Luther recommend I do.

    Beautiful. Thanks for your expertise. I have a baritone ukulele with PHD brand fluorocarbon polymer strings, baritone tuning. Also a baritone uke with Aquila, new nylgut strings, standard ukulele tuning. I like the tone on both.
    I have a question or two and I would appreciate your answer. I'm in a self-teaching mode for two years now. I play by tabs. I think the chord positions for baritone tuning are easier to make than some of the standard uke chord positions. I have not committed to leaning the baritone chords. I don't like the thought of learning both. Confusing. What would you suggest?

    Hi Marco,
    I know you dId an arrangement of this a couple of years ago, you played it on your Makai in high g, would it be possible to do this particular arrangement for low g tenor ukulele, PLEASE I do prefer this version.
    Thank you in anticipation.

      Hi Paul, I am glad you like the arrangement! Regarding the tenor arrangement I think it’s almost identical to the baritone. I actually played it from the tenor tab but changed a couple of things on the D major chord (baritone) and the B minor.

    Beautiful! Thank you for these, Marco. I just replaced the original strings on my Kala with Martin & Co. strings (M630, clear fluorocarbon). As these are just the second set I've tried, I don't feel qualified to call them "best," but they're definitely better. The 1 string seems a bit "punchy" to me, but I just need to adjust how I play. Even though they've only been on for 4 days, they're already holding their pitch fairly well. On another topic, could you maybe do a video on counterpoint exercises for the baritone? That would be much appreciated.
