Thank you so much for your comment! Happy that you enjoyed it😊💖 Never tried Cumberland Sauce, but from what I saw when I researched it, I can definitely see why you would recommend it😋 Sounds like a perfect fit!
Greetings from Fresno, CA, USA. My Great Grand Mother is a Pesola, I can't even try write or pronounce her parent's names, but it suddenly occurred to me to look for Finnish food vids. I do have a Finnish cook book, but your vid gave me a new look at Finnish cooking that I haven't tried before, thank you. This looks yum.
Hi Vance, thank you for sharing your story with me😊 I love hearing how people find my videos when looking for the food their relatives (ancestors) used to cook. I hope you get inspired to try some of these dishes 😊 Best wishes from Germany!
Really happy to hear that! :) Yes, I think if you eat this one without the lingonberry jam it just isn't the same. So definitely need the jam to really enjoy this dish :)
Hi Thomas, when I went to school I think we started learning English in 4th grade and also all English movies and series are in English with subtitles which I think also helps😊 Really happy that you had such a positive experience in Finland 😊 May I ask where did you go and which places you had a chance to visit?
You pronounced Marjoram perfectly. “Minced meat” is an old-fashioned raisin and meats pie filling. The meat is called ground beef or hamburger. You could use ground Turkey, pork or chicken too. Looks so yummy!!
Hi Marty, oh no🤭🤭🤭 I have been saying it work all these years, how embarrassing 😅🤭 Thank you for correcting that, I will definitely keep it in mind now. Yes, you could definitely use any of those and yes it is really yummy😋
Hi there, you could also use cranberry jam instead. If you can't find either then you can make it yourself with frozen cranberries or lingonberries or just serve without any. I hope this helps😊
@@inthekitchenwithelisa oh awesome. I can find frozen cranberries so I'll make some. I'm from the caribbean so... I'm making this tomorrow. Thank you for sharing 😊

Never in my early years would my mother make this without minced meat, i guess we were no vegans in those days. Protein was a great way to get nutrients, there were no tablets to compensate lack of protein
We also never make this without minced meat. That way, it is very filling, just as it is😋 I think protein is still a great way to get the required nutrients and I don't believe in tablets when it comes to this😉
Excellent recipe worked really well. I can also recommend eating it with Cumberland Sauce, Punasipuli-Cumberlandkastike

At our home in Canada, we call this Lazy Man's cabbage rolls. Thank you for the recipe and I like your quiet music in the background.
Hi Dan, really? 😊 I can see why it would be called that😊 Happy that you liked my recipe and the backgroung music💖 Best regards from Germany, Elisa
Thanks for the excellent video, I will make it soon thanks.
Happy thatyou liked it Barry😊 I hope you will enjoy the kaalilaatikko😊
Hi! Jane here. What a nice looking meal. It reminds me of the ingredients for cabbage rolls.
Hi Jane, thank you so much! It is a bit like cabbage rolls. Really simple ingredients, but delicious and filling 😊

Yummy cabbage casserole, thank you for sharing
Thank you my dear! Happy to hear you liked it :)
Yum! Kiitos for the recipe💖💯
Happy that you liked it😊💕
I followed your recipe, and loved it. I think lingonberry jam tastes much better on this than on Swedish meatballs. Det är deligt!

My dad lived in Finland back in the 70’s - I’m going to make this next time he visits me! Living in the US, Finnish food is sadly not very well known
That is such an honour 💕 I hope you and your dad will enjoy the kaalilaatikko😊 Best wishes to both of you!
He loved it and so did we all! Adding it to my recipe stash!
yummy....kiitos, looks delish
Thank you Judi! Happy to hear you liked it :)
Oh wow so yummy recipe
Thank you😊💖
I went to Finland when I was 14, it surprised me that most of them can speak English and they’re much friendlier than other European countries

Oh man...that looks good
Thank you so much Colin! It's real comfort food from the North 😊
Nice. Cabbage soup/fried Boiled two or three times. The more the better.
When it comes to cabbage I can only agree😊 It caramelizes nicely and has such a beautiful flavour😋
Yes : i am understand
Yum!!
Is mince meat ground beef? Looks like the inside of stuffed cabbage-a deconstructed cabbage roll! Yummmmm 😀😀😀
Yes, mince meat is ground beef.
Is it only beef or can that name be also used for mixed like pork and beef?
I used 50/50 pork and beef but you can also use beef if you prefer that. Hahaa! You are right :) It does actually, never thought about that.

Tuolla kaalimössöllä ei ole mitään tekemistä oikean suomalaisen kaalilaatikon kanssa. Not real finnish cabbage casserole.
Hi Hannu, we all have different tastes and preferences. I like to make my kaalilaatikko this way and it is delicious!😋
