I love how the show so expertly follows the concept of “Show, don’t tell.” When Jimmy sees Kim outside smoking and he goes up next to her and takes a draw off her cigarettes, the viewer knows they have a close history, without them having to say a word.

Yesss! The greatest TV show of all time. I've watched over 250 TV shows, and this for me is the best one. This surpasses Breaking Bad, obviously Breaking Bad walked so BCS could run, but BCS surpassed BB. Acting, both leads of both shows are incredible, but the supporting actor performances from BCS give the edge in that aspect. The writing is just as good in both, the cinematography of BCS is leagues better, the BCS antagonists are better, the storytelling is slightly better in BB in the first season, but after that it's just as good in both, etc. Both are masterpieces, but BCS is better for me, and when they announced he was getting a show, I didn't think Saul was a character that can have his own show and be this amazing. Each season gets better than the last, and I can't wait for y'all to experience this whole masterpiece.

When I first graduated from law school and opened a private practice with a fellow graduate, we would go to "jail call" and pick up court appointments for people going before the magistrate and needing lawyer appointed. I assume that is what Jimmy was doing. Our law firm was in a Vietnamese strip mall. Before I actually got licensed I worked in a firm very much like HHM, representing clients like Bank of America. It was a soul-sucking job. The car was the wrong make and model. .
32:09 I'd never caught that they used this street name until you said it out loud. Juan Tabo Boulevard was the street address for Gale Boetticher in Breaking Bad (Gale was the chemist that Gus Fring had originally used before they found Walter White. They say his address when Walt is taken to the lab to executed by Mike, and Walt tells Jesse the address on the phone (6353 Juan Tabo Boulevard).
Actually, Jesse already knew the address. Walt didn't tell Jesse the address on the phone. He recited the address to Mike and Victor to reveal that it was curtains for Gale. "Your boss is gonna need me....."
The black & white scenes are set after 'Breaking Bad' and are "flash forwards" so to speak. The story of Jimmy/Saul starts off in 2002, if you pause and look at the date on the cheque he gets for $700 you'll see the date is May 2002
This week was 3x13 and 3x14. They both went live on Wednesday to make room for the Deadpool reaction on Friday. Back to regular next week with 3x15 on Wed and 3x16 on Fri.
Anybody who has seen Breaking Bad already knows, but this first episode lays it out that Jimmy is a scumbag and "money is the point", to paraphrase some dialog that didn't make the edit, but I remember it from the show.

This show is much slower than Breaking Bad however a phenomenally written show and worth the watch
