Just discovered this band 2 days ago, as they were opening for Leprous during the show in Toulouse (FR), and I totally fell in love with their music, such a good band, with all these mysterious vibes of the northern culture but without any cliché....
I can find some Loreena Mc Kennitt, some Hagalaz' Runedance and even some Lisa Gerrard/Dead Can Dance touches in their songs, which is obviously a compliment ;)
Same for me, I discovered them because of Leprous' show in Milan and now I totally fell in love with their music too
Nous étions au même live haha. Incroyable de découvrir ce groupe au Metronum. Ils m'ont renversé... J'ai revu Leprous la semaine suivante à Nîmes, même effet pour Kalandra. Ce groupe est une tuerie. Et alors le combo avec Leprous après, un moment amazing

heard and saw Kalandra as support for Leprous for the very first time, bought the records and can hardly listen to anything else at the moment. great music.
Discovered them when they did a Cover of my favorite band Wardruna. Beautiful music. Nothing more needs to be said.
Anilah and Wardruna made the theme song for Vikings. There are two versions of Warrior, one without vocals towards the end. Anilah's other top song is Medicine Chant.
@@nissan300zxmike Wardruna did not make the theme song for the Vikings. The theme song is "If I had a Heart" by Fever Ray. Wardruna helped the Composer with the music in the show, as well as many of their songs can be heard through out the show, but not exclusively.

So conected, she sings like an Angel and the band are more than in fluid they are deeply melodic and she remember Aurora voice also, beautiful omm congrats
I love how every single note the guitarists and bassist play, and the drummer, are so organic and natural but perfectly and delicately chosen. They use 1 note where another band might have used 3. And it leads to such a sort of beautifully minimalist sort of sound, each of them taking a bit of space but never overwhelming

This performance of Brave New World is in some ways better than the one in the Kulturkirken Jakob. Her intensity at the end is indescribable.
In my opinion the one on spotify is even inferior. Like not that I dislike any of the versions in the slightest, but this and the one at Kulturkirken Jakob are the best.

WOW!! I discovered Kalandra roughly three weeks ago and listened to quite a bit of their available stuff. I am absolutely stunned and captivated by the sound. The songs are arranged so nicely and delicately with tasteful dynamics to it, plus Katrine's angelic voice on top. Awesome! Simply awesome!

I bet it really hurts her every time someone compares her to Aurora. It must be very insulting. They are both very talented and very different people. Katrines voice and singing style is very different from Aurora. She doesn't get even half the recognition that Aurora gets.
