I really liked Andrew's responses on the more administrative/managerial aspects - not "making" anyone do anything, and not forcing more videos to be made at a pace that isn't feasible/meaningful. I'm very happy to just look forward to one very well-made video a week!
He is! He’s so good with words like the way that he described the foods that he tasted in all the Worth It videos were just so on point and clear and accurate, unlike Steven who would always just say “this tastes like my mom’s”
Re: why 1 video a week. I don't think some people understand how much time it takes into planning (content, timeline, if it fits roadmap of ideas), discussing (what, who, when, where, how), collaborating (schedule), testing recipes, filming (time of day, location, equipment set up and handling), editing, and reviewing. Especially since this channel is usually a collaboration with multiple people and they don't live in the same time zones and have other responsibilities that are a part of their job at Buzzfeed. This channel is just a part of their role at Buzzfeed and they have to make time for it. Also, a high-quality video once a week is so much better than a low-quality video that they aren't super proud of (they're creators and of course they want to be proud of the content they produce, especially since these videos stay on the internet -- it's kind of like an archive or artifact).
Yeah I think people who have never tried planning, shooting, editing and reviewing a video won't really understand how much time it takes, cause there are a lot of apps out there that make editing seem easy, and nowadays people are just pushing out video content (of different qualities) all the time, it almost seems like it doesn't take much. But seriously the first time I tried editing a video, nearly died/blew my mind when I understood how much work it is.
Definitely one of the best channels right now! It's always so fun watching and u can just see how much sheer effort they put in to their videos esp when they are filming all the stuff alone haha
Definitely would rather have 1 higher quality / purposeful video per week, rather than multiple videos that you rush to make. Thanks for working so hard to create unique content :)
“what have you tried on the show that’s now a staple in ur kitchen” ~~ me thinking about the 50 pounds of potatoes andrew is now being forced to use lol
THAT MOMENT WHEN THEY READ OUT YOUR COMMENT WHEN YOU WERE LEAST EXPECTED PERSON WHO HAD NO HOPE THEY'D NOTICE YOU OR REPLY TO YOUR QUESTION- and sorry for not being specific lol😂😂love you guys. Its gonna be 300k soonnnnn😌💯
Tasty started just as good and became somewhat really different. Hope you guys can make whatever you want, not drastically depending on what buzzfeed as a machine want
Not estimating enough time to cook is SOOO relatable!! I always feel like I'm such a slow cook because I compare myself to how long a recipe says something should take and I usually take like 150 to 200% longer in time. 🤦🏼♀️
Inga thanks for the recipe for those sugar coated peanuts tried it today absolutely love it 😃👍. Hope you people achieve more success. Best of luck for the future.
I’m with Andrew haha I’m sticking with my wired headphones regardless of what anyone says or what’s trendy. I like them better. I don’t want to worry about having to charge headphones or keeping track of them because I know it’s too easy to lose small items like that. I also like that the headphones stay attached to my device
Fantastic video. Thank you for sharing your stories. I'm really hooked on watching your videos. Thanks so much for making them. I can't imagine my life without watching.
Thank you guys - I know there’s almost always a discrepancy between life in front of camera and behind, but it does seem like you’re a great team, led well, and that’s part of what I enjoy about the vids. I love the diversity of hosts, tastes and ideas and I’m looking forward to watching the evolution of the channel unfold. It’s a testament to the truth that if you give people a supportive team alongside them and a bit of creative freedom, you can generate some really beautiful, interesting and unique things. I also agree with Andrew’s comment about non-expertise, RUclips gives space for that and your non-expertise as cooks gives us, the normal person viewer, plenty of space to feel at home too. And finally, this may sound weird, but I actually really enjoy the calm aesthetic of a lot of the videos. There’s a lot of content out there which is fast paced and throwing a million pieces of spaghetti at the wall every vid, and I enjoy that sometimes, but it’s really nice to have space to breathe, and to hear the small sounds in your food prep videos especially, the spatula as it scrapes the pan, the spoon as it stirs, the car horns outside. I always appreciate a moment of calm and how it draws attention to pleasurable small details. So, thanks for bringing that tone in some of the content too. Perhaps a happy accident of having to film solo? But really nice.
She posted Korean food video one week before this vid and she's still eating that leftovers. I'm... I'm.... I'm I don't have any words remaining to say about this 😂😂😂😂😂
I didn't think I would be in the video, and the editor didn't do me any favors with that typo lol, thx for the answer and I love you guys keep up the good work
Andrew, I absolutely love your journey as a content creator and a food expert. I can tell once upon a time you were sheltered in the every day food made at home and the take out that's convenient to you. It is impressive to me that you have been able to branch out of through your work on worth it and your various other appearances on food youtube channels. Your response about the egg and rice is culturally transcending to me. Your very flavor profile and texture have been altered in such a way where you are able to discard your bias. This kind of transformation is something I really respect and as a result I trust your opinion more than others who have predisposition. Cheers!
"What is your favorite food that you've ever made for the video?" Alvin: My favorite is making giant ramen for a sumo wrestler with Inga. Me: Okay, so Alvin's favorite is Inga. Noted.
Congrats on the 200+k subscribers. Ideas I would love to see you guys do; cooking utensils (cleavers, colanders vs strainer vs sieve, mortar and pestle, steamer [bamboo vs metal]), root vegetables and various ways to cook them around the world, Rice around the world, a mini series of bread - where each of you focuses on a different element of making bread, Lemongrass, different types of sweeteners (sugars -granulated, brown, rock and syrups - barley malt, molasses, corn, maple), Styles of cooking in the oven, Air fryers, wok cooking, Clay pot/ tagine cooking, en papillote vs packet cooking .... that was off the top of my head. Thank you for all your contnet!!!
I think he already did one already on buzzfeed tasty. I think it was some kind of savory dish like a sandwich or something. He didnt appear on screen at all. He was narrating the video
Pretty sure this channel is owned by buzzfeed(iirc, buzzfeed has a exclusivity clause on content, might have changed since then) Check out all the buzzfeed links in the description of their vids. Plus, it's very suspicious that such a large/popular group "left" buzzfeed. Normally if they all left and launched their own channel, they would talk about why they left. They might not be public subscribers or show it in their channel description but it's very sus. Andrew mentioned himself in this vid that there were going to be more worth it episodes. However, it does seem that buzzfeed is giving them more creative control on their content on this channel.
hi i'm a new subscriber and i really liked this Q&A! so candid and honest and I really love the insights on what goes on behind the videos and also just your personal preferences. this might be a personal taste but i love how your videos are a little raw and very pleasant and calming to watch. like it's still funny but it's not too edited like a professional cooking show but it's more well thought out and knowledgeable than just a simple vlog. looking forward to more content!! :)
You guys should come back to Hawaii. We are at over 50% vaccinations, some of the lowest infection rates, safe in person dining, and everyone on the plane coming here has to test negative for COVID, so you know you are safe even on the plane. We also have a lot of great cuisines here at various price points.
Please make another/more X(person) makes things based only on the name of the thing. Like the devils onigiri ep. with Andrew. And Andrew is a great on-screen personality for that.
I thought the name stemed from, "oh I'm about to eat and I wanna watch something. How about..." So it's like a channel on RUclips whenever you wanna watch something when you're, ✨about to eat✨
Andrew really is a Buzzfeed veteran. Anyone remember when he was "the weird guy in the office" and people shipped him with Ashly😂
Ashdrew, remember? Oh life was so simpler back then
Yaaas
I remember him from his "Things Cats Do That'd Be Creepy If You Did Them", what a legend

I love how About to Eat is so much different from BuzzFeed Tasty.
How does Andrew come up with everything cool? Tasty's "Oh Yes!" and About to Eat's name. It is like he is a poet.

she's goth girl with unicorn personality.
Cuz we've all heard it before thru the years of buzzfeed and love her for it. Like her personality too
@@misterkayy this is the first time I am hearing her voice for so long and also arent free like you to watch every BuzzFeed's video

I was not expecting Alvin's late night snack to be a cold orange. I was thinking more along the lines of frozen dino nuggets 🥰
I thought chocolate chip cookies
Reminds me of the video where rie and andrew exchanged snacks lmao
I tried to freeze a ponkan (a different type of orange), and its refreshing.
🤣🤣🤣
