Senior Drum Major Damian Thomas, Drum Major Scott Fitzgerald, Drum Major Andrew Crew, Drum Major Harry Sutton, and Drum Major Jack Barker.

    1. Scarlet and Gold
    2. Arnhemland

The third march is 'Normandy Veterans' composed by Chris North, the former Bandmaster of The Band of The Duke of Wellington's Regiment, in the year 1986. It was the official march of the 'Normandy Veterans' Association' which disbanded in 2014 and was clearly chosen on this occasion to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D - Day.

I'm hoping to make it to the UK next year as I am creating a memorial to honor the eleven bandsmen of Her Majesty's Royal Marines who perished in the bombing of the Deal Depot in 1989.
My hope is that they will accept my gesture at the Montbatten Festival of Music 2021.

Each year the Director of Infantry selects the drummer (L/Cpl or Cpl) who has contributed most during the year. Oh hey, google is your friend but for the hard of fingers here’s a précis: History Of Beating Retreat
Beating Retreat has its origins in the early years of organised warfare when beating or sounding retreat called a halt to the days fighting, a return to camp and the mounting of the guard for the night.
