The only part about this story that is surprising, is that they actually arrested these people.
Exactly! But will they be prosecuted?👎🏻
True. Luckily, Bragg isn’t handling this, so they may even get charged .
Yeah I used to work for them if they weren’t playing us they were definitely doing tenants beyond dirty
You said that right. Now let's see if something is actually going to happen
I love how all you people spitting facts always have a user handle of USER BLAH BLAH. LOL IT IS FUNNY. I bet you all run VPNS and have your coffee table to self ignite if the secret service kick in your doors😂
This is how our entire country and government work
For real, if this actually surprises anyone…they’re too dumb to vote
They gave trump crap about bankruptcy in nyc but the red tape. U have to bribe to get work done or go out of business. California. The burn down large home. S buy a homeowner s can’t rebuild. Because of red tape
Yep.
Yes, all these schemes need exposure
Wow people getting in the hot seat
What about the politicians?

Chocolate rain!!!! 🍫🌧
If that's your dream I will guess that you are not a politician or drug dealer.
Amen! LOL 😅 🙏🏾
What's the difference with what they did as to what the congressmen are doing. Lobbyist. Bribery is kickbacks. Arrest all the congressmen.
When I visit NY, and walk past a building site, I'm amazed. Walls full of permits after permits after permits.
No doubt each with a payment.
Amen
Difference is they got caught by the wrong person and it got out... that's the ONLY difference... we need somebody who truly wants to up hold the constitution and take care of the citizens
@@adenwellsmith6908 Each one is a payment but a legally made payment. Everything associated with those permits requires a fee be paid to the city.

Is there anything going on in New York that is NOT corrupt?!?!
The WHOLE country is corrupt!
No. Look at the Trump saga. Nowhere else but NYC. I feel sorry for you all 💖🇦🇺
We know. Trump was born in NYC too
The answer to your question is NO! NYC has operated this way for generations.
You might disagree with AOC, but she doesn't seem corrupt.
They learned this from elected officials in Washington.
...especially the selected officials
So the NyCha Office People and the Janitors Went Through $13 Million That was meant for The Residents In The Buildings to Remodel & Upgrade Their Apartments Etc That’s so Rotten And Cruel how do you steal from people in the projects smh
No u blaming the wrong people , they don’t have access to the Budgets only Neighborhood administrators and Property Managers and Superintendents and assistant superintendents can do micro mini transactions

IKR. Those people in the projects are so poor they have to sell their SNAP benefits to support their drug and alcohol addictions.
IKR. Those people in the projects are so poor they have to sell their SNAP benefits to support their drug and alcohol addictions.
@@stevehady915you do realize that people from more affluent communities get snap benefits and go to the hood to sell them for drugs too? Addiction keeps the same statistical rate across all economic classes. Can’t blame poverty for drugs. Drugs have existed since long before money.

Absolutely, fired, Prosecuted, Prison time and lost of Pensions.
It will be, pensions are revoked on a felony convictio

Why doesn't the city have their own repair men for every project? My cousins husband was a carpenter on the city payroll and retired with a pension. He worked at a few projects.
It's disheartening to see such corruption within our government. We need strong leaders who prioritize the well-being of the people over personal gain.
That is not our government....
70 is the largest by DOJ ????? DC would multiply that by orders of magnitudes
Right like gold bar bob Menendez
$400k from Israeli lobbying for just 1 congressman. 🤣 you just can’t make this stuff up anymore.
Every state needs to investigate this
Same thing as all construction on the east coast having to have police as security or you don't get the contract. Same thing far as I see it.
The feds hate competition.
Stealing everyone's tax money. Make an example of them.
Rewatch the video and try again.
Only the contractors were losing out here, not you.
@@Gr8Incarnate Contractors needed to up bids to cover bribes. Government run buildings were repaired above cost to compensate for the bribes, so money stolen from tax payers.

70 people 2 million how much is Trump alone responsible for in fraud and bribery hundreds of millions?
They could arrest half of the NYC inspectors for kickbacks.
So few?
It's nice to see them arresting people other than good Samaritans and people who defended themselves for a change. We'll have to see how the DA's and prosecutors offices handle it. Also, do the people arrested get a no cash bond too?

At least the mafia had morals

Gee... I wonder if anything else like this is going on in the US?
Any contractor is equally guilty for not reporting it long ago. They just let it continue. Good ol' NYC.
OF COURSE THIS GOES ON!!! Corruption is RAMPANT in NY
And at the very highest levels of government!
And everywhere else
With Obiden's DC leading the way!!!
Probably the most corrupt legal system in the country.

Just like a third world country.

Wow, I wonder how far up this P to P goes up the chain.
This is small beans compared to the inside trading going on right now in members of congress.
At last!! What a disgrace !! 😠
Being from Brooklyn and living in a NYCHA building, I'm not surprised
And why should that Surprise You Because it's done by Your very own Ethnic Group.
..."senior leadership at NYCHA was unaware..." . Just as I was wondering if some of the 'payments' were kicked upstairs.
This stuff has gone on since before I was a child and Im 71.
DOJ should review all relationships with NYCHA. Right from the top who is complacent with delayed decisions and right down to every employee who does not perform their jobs in a timely manner!!! Ask the reputable contractors architects and engineers who have to work with these idiots that we hire on behalf of tax payers. Everyone up there knows they just shut they eyes to it.
DOJ should look at NYCHa residents hiding illegals and selling drugs out of apartments we pay for.
It’s a mafia!!!
❤
Thank God,Trump and Ben Carson.
DOJ is also corrupt , so is the FBI , CIA and prob every other alphabet agency we have. They all run cover for each other .
Pat on the back for catching them after 10 years 😂😂😂
This is Exactly what's wrong with America!
What's the difference here and in Washington D.C. with tens of thousands of lobbyists selling access to government officials and agencies?
The only differences are the amount of money and the mutual protection of the politicians!
Not any two swamps Chicago 3
None
The senior administration didn’t know what was going on in their own department? I find that ludicrous! They had to know, they were probably getting a cut off the top. 😮

I remember employees were also convicted of giving friends and family low income housing.
Everywhere even in Bham AL
That was probably happening too.
Indeed 💯
The word ‘giving’ is not correct they were taking money from friends and family in exchange for low income housing.
This is still happening. Especially the spanish.
"Senior leadership wasn't aware of the problem." 🤥😂😂😂
yeah... funny.
Senior leadership did not get a scheduled thick envelope is what really happened.
They never are
And right there is the problem.
Lies 🤣
As a contractor in the past, I have seen this. You want the business, you bid a little higher and give them the difference. It was so common that it was looked at as business as usual.
Would love to know the other states that are doing this corruption as well
I see a federal government CONSENT DECREE. Prosecute to the fullest extent of the law!
That what happen when you break the law it catches up with you crime doesn't pay
Since when do do they enforce the law except against the average American
Notice they're low level the bosses above had no idea .What a bunch of BS
Senior official didn’t know there was a rampant problem with bribery, 70 employees, really?!
This was so common in Chicago in the 80's that a friend of mine who was a building manager on State Street kept bribes in his office walk in safe. It wasn't all in cash. He had a box of cigars for the elevator inspector.
The penalties for stealing from the public should be stiffer than the penalties from stealing in general. It erodes confidence in our institutions.
where is this confidence you speak of because i see NONE
Is that why there are such stiff penalties for police who break the law? Because they are given so much power and trusted not to abuse it? Just kidding.
There should be 70 new job openings now.
You sound like Trump
And the people in New York wonder why the rent is so damn high.
What!!!? That's really hard to believe!
AND UNFORTUNATELY ........ it'll never stop, NEVER.
And yet of course senior officials had nothing to do with it what a crock of crap

Even the lowly MTA subway cleaners. The foreman puts them all in for overtime. And then literally waits outside the check cashing place. To collect his cut.

My daughter lives in a central valley county in California... she started a mobile coffee truck business 3 years ago... the county health officials drug their feet for months demanding multiple changes to the truck to get her permit, until she started asking other vendors how they got thiers...the answers "slip the gal some money, problem solved, thats how we all do it"....she refused, moved her business to the county 20 minutes away and got legally permitted same day she applied! Those people taking the bribes were probably the most vocal about "not doing enough to help poor people"
ITS USUALLY YOUR OWN PEOPLE SCREWING US OVER. THATS WHY I DONT VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS. SEEMS LIKE THEY USE BLACK AND BROWN PEOPLE IN CONGRRESS TO PUSH IDIOTIC AGENDAS.
They should look into the contractors also.

Probably democrats
Wait, so they had to pay a bribe to get the job, and because they’re now over a barrel, they’re then extorted for ANOTHER bribe before they get PAID? That’s BEYOND awful. 😡
Good Job! Now, the FBI needs to investigate GSA armed security contracts at 26 federal plaza, New York. This contracts has been around for so long that it has been forbidden for other companies to have a chance to bib for them. For a contracts to be around that long is because someone has their hands in the cookie jar!
The bigger the city , the bigger the corruption . Works the same way in Federal Government contracts , I feel certain , but much greater lost tax Dollars .
Same thing is going to happen to Mayor Tiffany Henyard of Dolton.
I was just thinking the same!!!
If they had the time and resources to do this, then the House and Senate and any other agencies, institutions, should be subject to investigation, charges, and prosecution.
New York resident need to get involved in this and fix this problem to their benefit.
THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR DECADES!!!!
They’re distracting us on something else….
Yeah, millions of honest people get pushed out of the city and onto the streets due to the varied levels of this. No rent control, no caps, no honesty, bribes, pushers, all in the government sector no less. The older I get the more I realize how dim the light is in this world
No wonder they don't like cameras.
How would someone charge NYCHA if they made you hospitalized?
The only things shocking about this is that anyone would be shocked by this and that they MIGHT be held accountable.
I would be more surprised if you could find someone in the government not getting some kind of kickbacks....
Your own Mayor/Governor is doing the same thing just on a much larger scale. Also deflection from the illegal immigrants.
Tip of the iceberg.
“We have plenty of theories, now all we need is some evidence.”

Exactly!
Also the President of America ;)

I suggest a thorough investigation also be conducted in the Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands Housing Authorities. Be sure to look at all procurement activities at both housing authorities.
What is happening??? What IN THE WORLD?????
Oh no!! Corruption in NYC😱😱😱
So the senior management, the ones at the top, didn't know what was going on? Then they were either lying or incompetent.
The news story said this went back at least 10 years.... ummm, yeah. This kind of thing has plagued democrat-run cities for at LEAST the 50 years I've been alive. Lots of mob ties with these kind of scams too. The mob and city government seem to have merged into almost a singular entity as early as the 1960's.
PS - Some of the 70+ folks arrested will eventually turn on the higher-ups in exchange for plea deals. The management levels may not work the street-level jobs anymore, but they get their cut of the daily take, guaranteed.
I call bull! All make money period!🤔
@@Mr.EkshinI’m really hoping they just do their jobs, follow the money, and get them too. No more plea deals!
70 employees arrested and they had no idea XD

Why is this a shock to anyone. Every big city in the country. Wake up.
I thought this happens with every government project. I hope the DOJ looks at the commuter train improvement/extension contracts and high-speed rail contracts for California.
Scapegoats for others a lot higher ranking no doubt
Exactly. The last tunnel they build in NYC, cost four times as anywhere in the world.
The DOJ is a major part of this itself. lawless and totally corrupt, as is the FBI CIA and most other departments. Its a free for all on the American taxpayer.
The fact that this has been going on since 2013 is even crazier
Don't you know NYCHA stands for "Now You Can Have Access"
Its pretty obvious that when it comes to government dealings, there needs to be oversight committees that are vetterd, neutral and HONEST.
Vetted not vetterd.
You suggested the cat watching creamy milk.
How do you find HONEST...and how does it live in a cess pool! Trump had it right.
That's what tenant organizations are for, but they usually interfere with that.
