Hey Etho, the chiseled bookshelfs can also be used to filter normal and enchanted books from large item streams. Like for example piglin bartering, so now you can filter a non stack able item which is quite nice.
I agree with you about the Enchanted Book thing! The issue comes in when you get a book with multiple enchantments on it; I feel like in that case it would make sense to be named Enchanted Book since that's harder to solve in the same way, but it'd be nice for those single-enchant books.
Etho!!!! You should do a series with bdubs where you teach him red stone in simple stages, give him homework to gain experience and he’ll come back to learn more. You could possibly get other hermits involved too. Much Love!

Oh wow that's the first time I've seen a sniffer outside the trailer. It's so cute! The little ear wiggles have me charmed I also didn't know the armour trim was copy-able, but I gotta say, in a multiserver setting it'll kind of bring down their value real quick
You mentioned not having all the new animals yet, have you ever considered making a zoo/reservation/noah's ark somewhere in your world? Could be a cool way to show off all the new mobs and blocks! :^)
I think an interesting way to do redstone videos would be to do a colab where you teach another person how to do something simple and build up to bigger projects with them.

Hi Etho! I'm curious, do you do anything to keep your voice healthy such as vocal exercises or avoiding certain food or drink? Been watching since around 2012, keep up the good work!
I can see people using the wireless skulk with filters to create new elytra gates that only open when you fly towards them. could have a sensor outside send a signal inside so that it triggers upon approach. could be useful in air or cliff bases where Redstone cant be run through the air.
Two new wood types are nice, they both are quite unique, love the new bookshelves, but my favourite feature is also the new rewritten lighting engine. As a programmer I know how much time and effort goes into technical, optimalization stuff like this, and imagine making it work for all the platforms, must have been a huge task. Probably that's why we waited the whole year for the update to come out. I'm so glad Mojang did this major performance improvement. It's also going to make the developer expierence way better. Maybe colored lighting will be possible to implement now, who knows.

I randomly got recommended this video after not watching any minecraft for probably the last like 10 years, its insane how much new stuff has been added since the last time i played 😂 i really want to play some now lol
Yay Etho !!!! I'm hoping your having a wonder day up there in your beautiful maple leaf country :)
When he was talking about how stressful it is to move mobs long distances I flashbacks to a couple days ago when my camel died on the way to my base.
The cherry grove biomes fit in the same niche as meadows, so yes, they're generally on mountain slopes, plateaus, and/or uphill from plains. Fun fact: before ChunkBase updated to add the cherry grove search, the easiest way to find one when you had the 1.20 datapack enabled was to check out meadows.
Hey Etho, the chiseled bookshelfs can also be used to filter normal and enchanted books from large item streams.
Like for example piglin bartering, so now you can filter a non stack able item which is quite nice.
Awesome. Here I was thinking, "man, I could really go for some Etho right about now." and BAM, the world delivered
fun fact: when jumping while on a camel, the sound effect for the camel's grunt is shown as 'camel yeets' if you have sound effect subtitles on.
Your water tutorial from like 15 yrs or so ago is still one of my favs.
You always keep going with your old servers and for Minecraft you will still remains a legend!
Much Love!
always a good day when etho uploads
First go for the sniffer egg?!!
I'm a happy for you ...truly. not jealous at all.
Update videos are always some of my favourite, especially because they're longer than usual!
Wowww that cliff right before you flew into the village, the small cliff on the right, looked like a house with a chimney and smoke coming out of the chimney
Cant wait to see what your armor will look like once you’ve got all the trims available!
those book stands make for some amazing door codes (a lot of people used to make them with item frames back in the days). especially great for adventure maps.
those bamboo planks remind me of attack of the bteam
Activate Etho in a lolly shop mode. These videos are always so good. Etho exploring and experimenting with the new update.
That shipwreck in the ice is what the titanic would’ve looked like if it didn’t sink and was just abandoned lol
these bookshelfs would be quite cool to set the desired floor for an elevator
The redstone museum is still a great idea and I'm looking forward to seeing you explore the applified world, get the trims and find your look
Love your work, Mr Slab. Thank you! It means more to me than you know.
There are so many of us!! Dont change man, we love what you do. Been here since I was 18, im 30 now. Life is a blessing thank you for always being here.
Wow, that was a great episode! Can't believe that ending, haha!
Sus
The things you can do with the chiseled bookshelves is really interesting. How it has a redstone element to it opens up a new world of possibilities. Really cool stuff.
Etho, your Karen impression absolutely made my month 😂😂😂😂
I work in retail/customer service and dealt with a Karen today, so that was a much needed release for me 😂
I wish all the books were color coded in the bookshelf. Enchanted books would always show as purple, written books are brown, etc.
I really hope Etho does a multi hour decked out video when it releases! Ik I’d watch for sure
+
I’ve never been more excited about a Minecraft update than this one! I’ve been playing around with it for 3 days now, and I love it!!!
I love how Etho acts like a game tester with every new feature, seeing all the different ways in which it interacts. That sort of detail level exploration always seems to get left out by most people with anything new.
I can't wait for all the animations for "where are my thponges!?!"
EVERYBODY DROP WHAT YOU’RE DOING
*Etho uploaded*
Oh wow that's the first time I've seen a sniffer outside the trailer. It's so cute! The little ear wiggles have me charmed
I also didn't know the armour trim was copy-able, but I gotta say, in a multiserver setting it'll kind of bring down their value real quick
You mentioned not having all the new animals yet, have you ever considered making a zoo/reservation/noah's ark somewhere in your world? Could be a cool way to show off all the new mobs and blocks! :^)
42 minutes of Etho is a dream come true. got so much to catch up on
This is the fastest I've clicked on a notification.
Same lol
Literally same
You and me both. Lol
Same
Immediately

I think an interesting way to do redstone videos would be to do a colab where you teach another person how to do something simple and build up to bigger projects with them.
I’m glad you did a quick overview of the changes! For someone like myself who hasn’t played in years but still watches all your videos, it’s very interesting!
I know I keep saying it but really Etho's videos are the highlights of my days and they are even better when I get off work!
Etho, I just went back to watch your first video, and I gotta say, you have come so far and been so consistently good over the years, which is something that can’t be said for other RUclipsrs. Thank you for being the best, and inspiring and entertaining both of us.
Hi Etho! I'm curious, do you do anything to keep your voice healthy such as vocal exercises or avoiding certain food or drink? Been watching since around 2012, keep up the good work!
Torchflowers giving me von sway vibes! Love them. This was a fun video, looking forward to 1.20.
I never thought I would hear Etho have a mini mental breakdown about sponges and pomegranates 😂
Exactly. Stuff like that takes time and care!
a tip for all you guys' ocean dying down in the ocean to get brush sand/gravel get a turtle helm it help you a lot might take some time to the turtle eggs to hatch for the the scute but you will thank yourself later :D
I really do like the lighting engine improvements. There have been a ton of mods always trying to optimize the engine, and I hope this will at least let them fill in more gaps, if not be completely obsolete.
I havnt seen your content on my feed since I was 13 and im 24 now
Keep it going etho you remind me of a better time that feels like such a long time ago
I'm gonna guess that the reason they didn't publicize the 1.20 lighting optimizations very much is because doing so would mean admitting their failure up until this point :P
Love how you use the spy glass for the pillagers it’s so fun and I love how you use pretty much every item in the game
