I love when Etho explains his Redstone. It's like a scientist trying to explain to a caveman how circuit boards work. Even if I don't understand most of it, I do learn something new every time.
The comment of the day read my mind! RUclips algorithm suggested Vintage Story recently. Five minutes into the video I thought "I wonder if Etho has played this before." It seems like a game you might enjoy.
Been watching for almost 11 years! A Big part of why is the fact that you lead us through the building process in a fun and interesting way! I Don't think I would ever want to see that part of your series go away, it makes things so much more fulfilling!
Etho, if you're still concerned about powering the rail you could put levers above the track. They power the block below and the one they're attached to so if need be you could put it on a non-solid block so it only powers the track.
Thank you for continuing to include us in the building process Etho! I love seeing you build in survival, and I wish more people wouldn't cut out showing that part of things
Etho please keep taking us along for the ride I love watching all this stuff come together and it's much more familiar than "look at this thing that is compleaty done off camera"
I'm subscribed to more than 100 channels with videos I enjoy, but sometimes I see videos in my subscription feed and just keep scrolling. I never skip an Etho Plays Minecraft video. You will always be the king of Vanilla Minecraft RUclips
It's exciting to hear you talk about Vintage Story! That game has been my obsession for about two years now. I wouldn't say the game is in an unpolished state at all at this point, but in terms of "end-game" that unfortunately seems to be a long way out still. They added the first story event last year and apparently have about a dozen of those planned. But maybe now that they have the groundwork prepared they can get them added more quickly.
Etho, seeing your LP episodes grace my sub feed is still a joy even after all these years man! 😀 What you describe regarding how a lot of Minecraft LP vids nowadays have the person say they're going to build something then skip to it being complete mirrors my views exactly. I find Let's Play vids far more relatable (and thus more enjoyable for me personally) when the person is taking their time, explaining their thought processes and having fun more than anything else! Loved your content for so many years now, you and Dallas are the only folks left I still stop everything to go and watch their Minecraft Let's Play episodes! 😃
Etho ... I've been watching your videos for a long time now and I love your approach of showing us how it is done. I actually have been meaning of trying to replicate your ender chest system that you've shown before because its so good at carrying everything. I also love that you are showing not just how its done, but the thought process and the limitations. You show people how you play minecraft and how others can replicate what you do and to me, this feels rare in this space. Thank you.
hey etho! you can power your rails on the top using observers - it's probably a little laggy having them constantly blink, but if you have two observers powering the rail alternating from each other, they'll keep it on. you can get this by having two observers facing into each other two blocks above the rail, and then have two more observers below those two pointing into the rails (note that you do need to push one of the two observers facing each other in with a piston to get the full speed observer clock)
I'm glad you addressed the peculiarity where people just speed through the building process in minecraft youtube videos nowadays. I always prefer to watch people work their way through the building gradually and explain as they go why they chose the blocks/design that they did. thanks for taking us along on the ride!
Etho Plays Minecraft always feels like a warm blanked, and my god I can use it right now. Seeing the old lets play world feels like going to a familiar place like home. Love the series!
One of the things I appreciate about you most Etho is your ability to troubleshoot and problem solve. I learn so much from watching you work through problems.
Please keep bringing us along for the builds. I've learned more from watching you building than I've learned on my own experimenting with it. Seeing another person's perspective on building is super super helpful and good. Do not remove that from us, please.
I didn't see this episode in the playlist! either way wanted to say I finally Just caught up from episode 105 anew it took 4 years, but I eventually caught up and happy to have watched the past but sad I can't binge watch anymore!
This is going to be awesome when it's finished. An always accessible storage room that automatically refills itself is going to be the closest you can get to building in creative without going the way of crazy update suppression stuff.
I really do miss showing the process of building. I know it's a little "old-school" perhaps, and it's not instant dopamine, but it's very... filling. You know? I love the piecemeal process of playing together in this series. :) this project is CRAZY I'm loving it
Can’t speak for anyone else of course but I like being part of the process. It’s always interesting to watch how you approach this game. Thank you for bringing us along with you in this journey! Unrelated, but I’m curious what music you’ve been into these days. I know you shared a few artists you discovered not too long ago but I’m interested to know if you’ve enjoyed any new music recently :D
great question!!! im curious to know (: i hope this will be the comment of the day next episode also i totally agree the first part of your comment, always fun to be part of someone's thought process and seeing a challenge through their eyes!
I'd love to see an episode of Etho just making simple farms for animals. It's been so long since starting a new world in this series that everything these days is some large scale complex project. I'd enjoy going back to the roots of Minecraft and seeing a chicken, sheep, and rabbit farm. I'd also like to see how he could come up with a way to automate scute farming.
ive been following your single player world since middle school and im now a sophomore in college. you always take viewers along for the journey - we’ve watched this world develop as you build it. i can see the amount of thought and detail you put into every project. thanks for always making such awesome videos
I would absolutely love to see Etho play some other games on the channel, I’ve really started to realize ethos personality could carry a video on its own, luckily his personality tends to result in wacky ideas that are also entertaining.
To the point you raised at the start of the video about youtubers just showing the results: I really like the videos where they also show the building process. It usually gives you a lot of insights in their technique of building and problem solving.
I think the best thing about Etho’s upload schedule for the Let’s Play Series (or lack there of ;P) is that it means any new episode always feels fresh and never just there to fill in numbers. I love it.
Bundles take this to the next level, I have a similar system but also use bundles plants that can be duplicated, Redstone things you only ever need a couple of, there are so many places he can still save spots here
An Ergo video is already a blessing, but I really enjoyed your explanations in the video and even the parts when you got detailed. I'm definitely part of the older Etho crowd, but I think your video style is what keep people coming too and coming back to your channel. Take care!
This channel is really a never-ending time capsule. It's been ages since I've been here, but feels the exact same as before. I can always return and know what to expect. It's been the same way for countless years now. A lot of it has to do with Etho, but a good chunk is because this game will always be legendary.
I'm currently on episode 256 while I wait for HC season 10 to start. It's fun to go back and see when items where first introduced. Plus I didn't start watching Etho until HC season 7. So I missed a lot of his early stuff. It really is amazing how much time and effort he's put into this lets play world.
Hi Etho, I really enjoyed this episode. I'm not a big redstone person but I'm always impressed at how intricate it can get and what it can all do in the game. I was just really proud of myself to make a piston door nevermind a whole sorting system! Hope you're doing well
Re: "trying not to let go of the past" if i had to pick one thing i admire most about your channel and the way you run things it's that you dont give into the trends that other creators have to cling to relevance. Because you dont have to. You create the kind of content that is so intrinsically unique, that the stuff other channels would cut is the stuff we want to see from you specifically! Just my .02 :)
It really feels good to be a part of the process, rather than a witness. Excellent decision for showing the build process. Please keep up the good work, take care of yourself and your family.
As always love hearing your thought process and problem solving behind your projects. Great episode. (I can’t type episode without hearing it in bdubs voice.)
I was just rewatching your HC season 7. This is such a treat! The miniseries are a lot of fun but watching you create things in a world that's around for a bit longer is definitely my favourite part from your content.
Etho, I'm so glad you mentioned time-lapses and building off camera. I started watching your videos over a decade ago and always loved that you showed the viewer what you were doing. It gives me the feeling that I'm playing the game with you rather than watching a world-tour type of video. Bravo dude!
I've been wondering about it since I started VS a while ago, I bet Etho'd enjoy it but I wonder if it'd make good RUclips content? I hope Etho tries, since I want VS content and Etho content too haha
I love ethoslab. I bonded with my best friend over ethoslab in school. Etho isn’t a large RUclipsr which at 14 made me love my best friend more. Unfortunately, he passed away and Etho brings him back to life.
i am glad you don't skip everything as it helps people continue to get get at minecraft and be creative cause i get a better understanding!! thank you Etho!
I always get a warm, safe feeling when watching your vids Ergo. And that's partly why you are the only youtuber who gets the honour of watching the vids on 1x playback speed. Nowdays, pretty much all other content on youtube I watch on 2x or faster (excluding music OFC)
Instant dropper lines do exist, but they rely on the same BUD mechanic that you used for the minecart rails. You also can't use them for item filters because the items don't actually appear in the droppers, so hoppers don't pull from them. However, if you make a line of droppers with repeaters on top, they'll move items at 1 redstone tick/block, which is a little bit faster than water streams. P.S.: Thanks for letting us copy your item sets, I've been designing a storage system that's the same size and I've been procrastinating on assigning filters.
Ref 3:50 - absolutely, I do enjoy the way you bring all along for the ride with your building! It's partly why I've kept watching for so long, 'cause other YTubers don't do that, and because they don't it feels impersonal. Please keep showing us the building like you have in the past
Etho! For those minecart lines at the top of the storage system, why not raise the entire line up by one block with another layer of hoppers that feed directly into the hoppers below? Then you can power the rails from above without powering the hoppers or worrying about a storage-system-breaking update!
Whoop! Well Sunday morning just got good 😁. Haven't watched it yet, but flicking through the comments, I'm gonna say I like that your videos often feel more like a conversation/interaction than a presentation compared to most youtubers. And then when you show us your frustration we feel it and understand why. Also, your sense of humor, glee, and (justifiable) pride when you do something really cool - technical, aesthetic or both (e.g. the dragon egg room). You just feel ... Relatable ... I guess? Watched for about 18 months.
I find the Misc. boxes a little confusing. Why do you need to have scute available at all times? Or sniffer eggs?

Scar puts so much work into his builds and he undersells his precious builds. I would love to see more of the building process in itself. Its interesting to see/hear your thought process during it.
Glad to hear you again 😊.
3:56 I miss seeing the building process! I'm glad you're trying to show more of it
I love when Etho explains his Redstone.
I like the moss over soul soil in the storage area. Bring the Man Cave to the End!
Pretty crazy. I just searched for "Etho's Ender chest storage" to learn it and turns out he just uploaded this refresh a few days ago. Nice.
I appreciate the showing the game being played, I dont just wanna see a final build but also the problem solving and the creativity appear
Etho, if you're still concerned about powering the rail you could put levers above the track. They power the block below and the one they're attached to so if need be you could put it on a non-solid block so it only powers the track.
Been watching you for about 10 or more years. Your videos bring peace in difficult times, joy in better ones. Thank you Etho! You truly are the best.
I appreciate the way you filled the filler items into the hoppers. Totally satisfying to watch!
Thank you for continuing to include us in the building process Etho! I love seeing you build in survival, and I wish more people wouldn't cut out showing that part of things
Etho please keep taking us along for the ride
I love watching all this stuff come together and it's much more familiar than "look at this thing that is compleaty done off camera"
I love watching people PLAYING the game and not just showing (off😅) what they did and talking about it.
Very cool vid, Etho - as always :)
13 hours of work was all made worth it when i sat down, opened RUclips and a new Etho episode came out!
I'm glad you addressed the peculiarity where people just speed through the building process in minecraft youtube videos nowadays. I always prefer to watch people work their way through the building gradually and explain as they go why they chose the blocks/design that they did. thanks for taking us along on the ride!
This is so much better than just a cut and everything is done. Also yes a Vintage Story series would be amazing!
Etho Plays Minecraft always feels like a warm blanked, and my god I can use it right now. Seeing the old lets play world feels like going to a familiar place like home. Love the series!
"...work on one of these branches" he says while sorting logs and using sticks for filters. Was that pun intended? 😍
this project is CRAZY I'm loving it
Can’t speak for anyone else of course but I like being part of the process. It’s always interesting to watch how you approach this game. Thank you for bringing us along with you in this journey!
Unrelated, but I’m curious what music you’ve been into these days. I know you shared a few artists you discovered not too long ago but I’m interested to know if you’ve enjoyed any new music recently :D
great question!!! im curious to know (: i hope this will be the comment of the day next episode
also i totally agree the first part of your comment, always fun to be part of someone's thought process and seeing a challenge through their eyes!
I just finished watching Feinberg's duos WR for all items (sub 10 hrs), and now I'm watching etho also do all items, but for an actual survival world
Hey etho! I just moved house and sat down after a long day with a foot long from subway. I couldn't imagine a better way to decompress! Thanks etho!
To this day, Etho’s wide FoV continues to make me both nauseous but also comforted by the familiarity of it
I'd love to see an episode of Etho just making simple farms for animals.
Etho is continually presented two choices: finish any other project or start a new storage system. His answer is obvious.
The water channels takes me all the way back to the Chocolate Island Mob farm and the Record Factory farm 😁. Love it!
I love it.
Bundles take this to the next level, I have a similar system but also use bundles
plants that can be duplicated, Redstone things you only ever need a couple of, there are so many places he can still save spots here
I turned 33 today, and I’m still excited Etho put out a video on my birthday! 😂
Happy birthday, friend!
3:54 we WANT to be part of the process! YES!
Ethos genuinely changes the way I think about Minecraft. It's baffling what he can do.
Why do you have a hacked account
Sketchy af account
I would have happily watched you explain the reason for each item in the shulkers for 15 minutes. There’s nothing I’d rather watch than an Etho video
I'm currently on episode 256 while I wait for HC season 10 to start. It's fun to go back and see when items where first introduced. Plus I didn't start watching Etho until HC season 7. So I missed a lot of his early stuff. It really is amazing how much time and effort he's put into this lets play world.
Love your awareness on people skipping the actual gameplay. Another reason as to why this is the best Minecraft series to exist. Keep it up!!!
so glad to see the return of the let's play. a consistent mood lifter, year after year.
That visual indicator idea, honestly reminds me of the old chocolate island storage room. Ah the memories :)
Hi Etho, I really enjoyed this episode. I'm not a big redstone person but I'm always impressed at how intricate it can get and what it can all do in the game. I was just really proud of myself to make a piston door nevermind a whole sorting system! Hope you're doing well
The End is so often a resource gathering only dimension. More people using this dimension like this is why I think we really need an End Update
I would love to see a Vintage Story series eventually, whenever you're confident in the game and content!
Re: "trying not to let go of the past"
if i had to pick one thing i admire most about your channel and the way you run things it's that you dont give into the trends that other creators have to cling to relevance. Because you dont have to. You create the kind of content that is so intrinsically unique, that the stuff other channels would cut is the stuff we want to see from you specifically!
Just my .02 :)
The ‘Etho Sense’ is great, I love calling what day he’s going to upload!
Don’t let go of the past with your video styles please, it’s the reason you’re my favorite. You bring us along for the ride in a thoughtful manner
I was just rewatching your HC season 7. This is such a treat! The miniseries are a lot of fun but watching you create things in a world that's around for a bit longer is definitely my favourite part from your content.
HC season 7 was legendary. Can’t wait for 10!
@@Joe-jh2gc yeah, I have a feeling it's gonna be a good one!
Etho, I'm so glad you mentioned time-lapses and building off camera. I started watching your videos over a decade ago and always loved that you showed the viewer what you were doing. It gives me the feeling that I'm playing the game with you rather than watching a world-tour type of video. Bravo dude!
Can't wait for the vintage story playthrough if you feel like it's a good game to record!
Thanks for doing your best to not forget the "playing" part of let's plays.
i am glad you don't skip everything as it helps people continue to get get at minecraft and be creative cause i get a better understanding!! thank you Etho!
I can't believe Etho ends a record-breaking 116 day drought on my birthday!
Holy
Ref 3:50 - absolutely, I do enjoy the way you bring all along for the ride with your building! It's partly why I've kept watching for so long, 'cause other YTubers don't do that, and because they don't it feels impersonal.
Please keep showing us the building like you have in the past
Bedrock's creative menu is fascinatingly organized, with dropdowns and all. Could be good inspiration for something like this.
Etho! For those minecart lines at the top of the storage system, why not raise the entire line up by one block with another layer of hoppers that feed directly into the hoppers below? Then you can power the rails from above without powering the hoppers or worrying about a storage-system-breaking update!
Ah. finally i understand the goal of this project. Etho explained it quite succinctly: he's building a creative menu in survival minecraft. 😂
I learn more about redstone by watching Etho debug his own stuff than in any “tutorial”.
I thoroughly enjoyed the old style of watching you build this ❤
