Yeah, it caught me off guard a bit. I knew he reloaded backups when testing snapshots or world tours or stuff. I used to be very much a purist when playing games. Always playing Pokemon on legit cartridges and jumped through hoops to find my pokemon's IVs in-game. However, as I get older I just don't have the time anymore, so I use shortcuts like savefile backup/restore, sometimes use an emulator with speedup, buying the cheaper japanese versions and downloading/playing an english rom (Since they're far cheaper and Nintendo/Gamefreak don't profit anyways) and also use external tools to analyse my savefiles to quickly find those hidden IV values that are so hard to discover in-game. tl;dr as we get older, doing things like this makes more sense.

5:24 Let's look at Etho's To-Do List and see what is and what isn't done: 1. Library - its never done and probably never will be done lol 2. Wilson - kinda operational, mostly abandoned. His room is certainly not done. 3. Sandy City - pretty much done, though more could be added 4. Minecart Storage System - probably completely abandoned, shulker boxes have superseded them 5. Minecart Sheep Farm - also abandoned, dispenser farms (like today'e episode) have also superseded them 6. Arena - not done, actually visited briefly in today's episode 7. Ceiling Pattern On Tree Farm - completed years ago 8. Silverfish Farm - probably broken & abandoned (the entire Stronghold Base has been abandoned tbh) 9. Bomb Factory - see number 8 10. Firework Room - complete & operational 11. Tunnel to Desert - completed years ago, upgraded even 12. Portal Network - abandoned & never to be completed 13. Underground Village - pretty much completed, but always room for expansion if wanted 14. The Nexus - completed 15. Project Pokemon - pretty much abandoned, villagers have changed so much it doesn't really matter anymore 16. Ore Storage Room - abandoned, I think he repurposed that room? 17. Simon Game - not finished, hasn't been touched in years 18. Skeleton Spawner in Mancave - abandoned, area repurposed with The Pixel Search Engine. A second skeleton farm was built near the concrete factory though. 19. Gold Farm #1 - Abandoned, the 2nd gold farm (now the Goon Farm) has superseded it 20. Musical Portal - dismantled, random music blocks were repurposed at Ender Ender 3.0 21. Dual Blaze Farm - completed 22. Nether Hub Design - pretty much complete, though old selector panels have been abandoned 23. Horse Jump Project - ongoing, recently resumed actually. Jump wall has been demolished though. 24. Guardian Farm - completed, but Etho seems to be constantly tinkering with it. Out of the 24 projects listed, only 10 can really be considered complete or partially complete. Most have been abandoned and replaced with new things.
The seeds dropping from the ceiling to send the flying machines back down was seriously impressive. Even after all these years I’m still shocked at some of the things Etho thinks up!

Hey Etho, great episode! Zedaph recently used the new features in the jukeboxes and told us that you can use a hopper minecart to pull out the record before it's finished, if you wanted to stop Pigstep as soon as the door closes.
I have been watching Etho for over 10 years now. I have had lapses in watch times but I always come back and I feel like I’m back in middle/highschool coming home and excited for a new episode. Feels good man

Nothing could have prepared me for the room reveal. The aesthetic, the music and the actual presentation of the reveal was something that I had to rewatch multiple times because I was STUNNED. Love love loved this build.

Etho. Dude. _Dude_ . I can still remember being absolutely wowed by one of the first LP episodes I watched - doing the wiring for very first potion room. The one with *that* door. Really what I was amazed by was all the dispensers and redstone. Not that crazy looking back, but give me a break - I was in middle school at the time! (And pretty new to Minecraft) 11 years later, I am a full fledged adult, and that intro to the dragon egg room had me just as wowed. The platforms and the music - what a reveal! Anyways, keep up the great work - it is extremely hard to be creative at anything for 15 years, but you keep knocking it out of the park.
This episode is probably the greatest in the whole series and I'm not even joking. I've been here for almost the whole ride and man I'm telling you this one was just way too amazing. Your development as a content creator is marvelous, keep it up king, stay amazing!
So awesome that the comments of the day were saved! I know the videos are still on youtube, but it's like some of the history of the let's play can now be archived in the world itself.
The bamboo in the dragon egg room reminds me of, I think it was the first endermen farm you made with the melons. A very cool throwback if it’s intentional, or a very neat coincidence if not :D
I really sucked at redstone I've been copying your redstone for so many years, that right now I find myself solving problems by myself, you've been teaching me even I didn't realize, thank you so much sensei
I think the flying machine platforms in the dragon egg room are like a natural evolution of the Sneak-E-E’s ice platform entrance from Hermitcraft season 7. I just got flashbacks looking at it, I don’t know if anyone else remembers that 😂
This build is crazy. This might be my favorite Etho build in a while. I like how it went from a forgotten part of the play through to this epic room. Etho if you read this please play terraria again:)
Wow! Just Wow! The music. The platforms stopping by hitting a glass pane. The splitting door. The entrance system. It all just added up to an incredible experience!
I love Etho, so respectful, I remember back in the day when he built a Minecraft unloader and I had built the same think just a week prior (I felt very smart when seeing Etho invented the same think I did)
Same! In some of my old worlds items inside chests just miraculously disappeared and I had assumed the same thing happened here. I'm glad it's not the case!
That's what I thought too. I recall in an older episode he showed that the content of some of the books was gibberish/corrupted. But the book items themselves did still exist. I forget when that happened.
The reason that I've learned so much from you, is not necessary how much of the redstone you show, but the concepts and how you explain them. Thanks Etho
An idea for the pyramid - how about some murals? A smaller scale of what you did at the guardian farm! You could take inspiration from ancient egyption murals
Etho, I’ve popped in and out of your content for 6 years, and I gotta say You hit your prime, congratulations to you for being able to make such incredible content.

5:24 Let's look at Etho's To-Do List and see what is and what isn't done:
1. Library - its never done and probably never will be done lol
2. Wilson - kinda operational, mostly abandoned. His room is certainly not done.
3. Sandy City - pretty much done, though more could be added
4. Minecart Storage System - probably completely abandoned, shulker boxes have superseded them
5. Minecart Sheep Farm - also abandoned, dispenser farms (like today'e episode) have also superseded them
6. Arena - not done, actually visited briefly in today's episode
7. Ceiling Pattern On Tree Farm - completed years ago
8. Silverfish Farm - probably broken & abandoned (the entire Stronghold Base has been abandoned tbh)
9. Bomb Factory - see number 8
10. Firework Room - complete & operational
11. Tunnel to Desert - completed years ago, upgraded even
12. Portal Network - abandoned & never to be completed
13. Underground Village - pretty much completed, but always room for expansion if wanted
14. The Nexus - completed
15. Project Pokemon - pretty much abandoned, villagers have changed so much it doesn't really matter anymore
16. Ore Storage Room - abandoned, I think he repurposed that room?
17. Simon Game - not finished, hasn't been touched in years
18. Skeleton Spawner in Mancave - abandoned, area repurposed with The Pixel Search Engine. A second skeleton farm was built near the concrete factory though.
19. Gold Farm #1 - Abandoned, the 2nd gold farm (now the Goon Farm) has superseded it
20. Musical Portal - dismantled, random music blocks were repurposed at Ender Ender 3.0
21. Dual Blaze Farm - completed
22. Nether Hub Design - pretty much complete, though old selector panels have been abandoned
That dragon egg cave entrance is one of the best things ive seen in minecraft, the sound just amplifies an already awesome looking and alive entrance
The seeds dropping from the ceiling to send the flying machines back down was seriously impressive. Even after all these years I’m still shocked at some of the things Etho thinks up!
The dragon egg room is so cool! I wouldn't mind more redstone projects like this that are cool for coolness sake.
The fact that Etho recognized his audience is growing with him makes me happy haha.
That door opening movement with the pigstep and rising floor was epic.
A new sheep farm brings back so many memories. I think i got hooked on Etho while he was building the first version of the pop-up sheep farm.
Every once in a while I go back and watch your first LP video ..... your level of expertise was basically "OK. I'm gonna dig a tunnel". I love how you have developed into the master of so many things!!!
i’ve been subscribed to you since i was a kid even though i haven’t played minecraft in ten years, and you’ve really outdone yourself with this build. wow.
Hey Etho, great episode! Zedaph recently used the new features in the jukeboxes and told us that you can use a hopper minecart to pull out the record before it's finished, if you wanted to stop Pigstep as soon as the door closes.
I was thinking about that too, when Etho showed his Jukebox system
Great idea
I have been watching Etho for over 10 years now. I have had lapses in watch times but I always come back and I feel like I’m back in middle/highschool coming home and excited for a new episode. Feels good man
582 episodes and I don't think I'll ever get bored of watching
The way the door flies away and slots into the wall to reveal the raising platforms is so cool! And then the way it slots into place when it closes! I love it!
13:20 caught me so off guard lmao what a good chuckle 😂
I don't watch much Minecraft these days anymore. But I have always had the time to enjoy another Etho video. Thanks for the decade+ of solid enjoyment!
Nothing could have prepared me for the room reveal. The aesthetic, the music and the actual presentation of the reveal was something that I had to rewatch multiple times because I was STUNNED. Love love loved this build.
Everything you did was really cool, the dragon egg room, and I really liked the way the sheep farm looked too.
Such a cool build made in vanilla Minecraft! Etho does stuff people normally need mods to pull off! He never copies anyone else, thou I guess he funds inspiration from builders like Bdubs. I never stops being amazed by the brilliant mind of Ladders!
MY GOD that dragon room. Every once in a while, when things are a little too relatable, a build like that drops to remind us who sits where.
And I just noticed the pigstep is a disk! Its not just an audio overlay, It is playing ingame!
Etho will never cease to amaze me with his crazy amazing ideas! What a guy ♡
That flying machine return mechanism is very clever! Very cool room
Make sure to train for MCC Etho! Although I'm sure you're not planning on being competitive at all, getting to know the games, and know what should be done, can really help as you're not spending time trying to "learn on the job".
Oh yeah. I remember discovering those books under the stairs when I downloaded the last world tour. Didn't think anything of it since I happened to be rewatching the entire lets play and saw you placing them there.
For MCC, do you plan on recording and making an edited video on it?
Either way, I am excited to see you play it!!!
Best reveal of a build I've ever seen. Thanks again Etho for making me want to play minecraft again haha
Always a good day when we get an etho video
That egg room is so freaking cool. Really shows how rich you can get with just vanilla Minecraft without datapacks
hi etho!! saw the announcement on twitter I’m so excited to see you play mcc this saturday! if you don’t plan on streaming I’ll watch scar but I’m wishing you good luck!! hope u have a blast!! :D
I think streaming the event is usually a requirement for being in MCC? Though if you're gonna bend the rules for anyone, Etho is a good choice :P
@@Koooo4 Scott said Etho wasn't gonna stream sadly
@@Matt-jq7zw Ah. Will still be super fun to see him participate in MCC.
@@Koooo4 I'm still holding onto a tiny bit of hope that Scott's wrong lol. just Copium
@@Koooo4Grian also didn't stream his first mcc so I think it's just fine
Etho. Dude. _Dude_ . I can still remember being absolutely wowed by one of the first LP episodes I watched - doing the wiring for very first potion room. The one with *that* door. Really what I was amazed by was all the dispensers and redstone. Not that crazy looking back, but give me a break - I was in middle school at the time! (And pretty new to Minecraft)
11 years later, I am a full fledged adult, and that intro to the dragon egg room had me just as wowed. The platforms and the music - what a reveal! Anyways, keep up the great work - it is extremely hard to be creative at anything for 15 years, but you keep knocking it out of the park.
The string trick is SO good! yet so simple. I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone use it
This episode is probably the greatest in the whole series and I'm not even joking. I've been here for almost the whole ride and man I'm telling you this one was just way too amazing. Your development as a content creator is marvelous, keep it up king, stay amazing!
The dragon egg room was SO creative… woah haha
So awesome that the comments of the day were saved! I know the videos are still on youtube, but it's like some of the history of the let's play can now be archived in the world itself.
I think it's always interesting how Etho will always try to use new blocks with every update as if he's a painter using a newly acquired palette
beautifully said!
How can one person be so unbelievably creative? After 13 years of watching Etho, he keeps surprising me.
I just got flashbacks looking at it, I don’t know if anyone else remembers that 😂
Oh yeah! I forgot about that, and it is similar!
You're a warm blanket on a cold winters night.
_"I got so many first world problems! If only I could make a tiktok right now, I'd be so popular..."_ - haaa! Laughed embarrassingly loud to that one!
i haven seen anything in minecraft that genuinely made me stop what i was doing in awe for a while, and that doorway did it.
That room is pretty damn cool! The ender eye collection system is such a nifty solution!
I love Etho, so respectful, I remember back in the day when he built a Minecraft unloader and I had built the same think just a week prior (I felt very smart when seeing Etho invented the same think I did)
Thanks for the episode Etho, glad you found the books! I assumed they had been corrupted a long while back when there was that bug.
The Dragon Egg room is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen
This probably my favorite episode and I’ve been watching 10+ yrs
Etho, I’ve popped in and out of your content for 6 years, and I gotta say
You hit your prime, congratulations to you for being able to make such incredible content.
That Dragon Egg room is one of the coolest rooms and uses for flying machines I've ever seen I love how the Platforms reaching the top is so perfectly timed with the drop in Pigstep I was definitely in Awe.
I love to see the Sheep farm get an upgrade it's always interesting to see old things get a revamp
