Considering Mumbo usually gives himself different challenges at the start of Hermitcraft seasons, I’d love to see him make an entirely flooded underwater base, complete with a conduit and flooded redstone contraptions next season, whenever that comes around
i think with the underwater piston doors, some dispensers, and some good timing, you could make a pretty convincing airlock with draining water
that underwater piston door is actually just straight up genius, nothing silly about that.
with rails being waterloggable now in java, they can act as a sort of waterproof redstone dust.

that underwater waterproof door would be an awesome idea to incorporate into a build. Make it out to look like an air lock and put the base in the warm tropical ocean, or deep down into a trench? man *wildly* cool idea.
You could also put it on a nuclear submarine, combine it with a Redstone torpedo launcher and a few Redstone missiles from the top and you’re golden

I wonder how possible a draining system would be inside the air lock... dropping sand would do the trick to clear out water source blocks, but I don't think the player would appreciate that very much...
Though thinking about it, a dispenser in the ceiling (or multiple) would work, wouldn't they? So long as there are at least two blocks between those water sources and the water on the outside, no extra water would be created.

6:40 that cake has a restraining order against Mumbo
I actually made a maze without walls once in Beta 1.7. It was 2 floors covered in pressure plates one above the other and when you stepped on the wrong plate in the first room it popped glowstone blocks out of the wall and lit up the room. I used glowstone because lamps didn't exist. The second room above it was the exact same maze plan but 2 walls were made of lava and if you stepped on the wrong pressure plates it would fire flaming arrows through the lava walls. I'd love to actually remake it now I think of it.
That's sick. I miss how simple the old Redstone builds used to be. Everything always has to be bleeding edge these days. If it ain't broke...

I hope Mumbo sees this: He did a video a couple years back where he tried to make as big of a piston extender as he could, and he found out he could make them as long as he wanted with enough room. I would love to see it again, but with vertical piston extenders.
I actually have a piston extender design that can stretch as long as you like, increasing in size linearly, not quadratically or cubically.

5:00 There's a glitch in minecraft where you can play a music disc in a jukebox, but then quickly right click again to get it out, and it will keep playing, even though it's out. You can even break the jukebox and it'll keep playing. You can also spam it. Anyway, I wonder if you can make a redstone machine that will do this glitch and spam it. That, that would be a truly annoying sound machine.
