Controller grips are an awesome way of turning your phone into a full gaming handheld, getting the most out of Xbox Cloud Gaming, Xbox Remote Play, PS5 remote play, as well as mobile games like Genshin Impact. I just wish the type c port was on the left side like the Gamesir X2. I have a Z Fold5 and if the port is on the right my screen hangs down below the controller. When on the left, my screen is higher up. From my experience it's better for ergonomics. It's a small change that won't hurt non Fold users.

A mobile controller that wont cramp my hands, has membrain like face buttons, fits phones with cases, and a 3.5mm port. The hall effects sensors are the icing on top! Sold.
I'm current using this one, replacing my Backbone One as my daily driver. Although it is a bit heavy,it is a lot more comfortable and lets me use it for remote gaming on PC and PS4 more often nicely. Love it so far
The fact that you can use the controller without taking the case off your phone is really selling me
So I had the razor Kishi version two, which is a fantastic phone controller later I bought the razor phone case for the iPhone 13 for some reason the razor phone case is not compatible with the razor key controller and I have to take it off every time I use itand that is so damn annoying
@@phillipalleva-cox3903 that’s insanely dumb the razor phone case doesn’t work with the razor controller, I would imagine that would be a main reason they would make one. But I have a backbone and when I had my iPhone SE I had a slimmer case and it worked fine, but now my phone is 2 inches bigger and now won’t fit with the case.
It has to be a very slim case, I have a CASETiFY impact case and it’s not a extremely thick case compared to what’s out there but it didn’t fit
You will have to cut off the rubber bumper on the USB-C side to fit even not that thick cases. It doesn't have detachable fittings like the Backbone v2. However, after doing this mod, it fit my case just fine and I think it's very good. The only other drawback is the clicky d-pad.
Can the d-pad be modded to membrane style silent actuators?
Man backbone should’ve made this 😂 this is like the better version of the that. Definitely want to try this out!
Really surprised that they were able to use hall effect sticks AND triggers. I’ve heard that a lot of companies haven’t been able to do this because the sticks and triggers are close enough together that they’re magnetic fields interfere with each other. Will be interested to see how this holds up over time.
I feel like it’s more they want you to buy 30 controllers rather then 1

I have this controller. It's fantastic. I modded it and strapped a Tab S9 to it. It's so ridiculous but I absolutely love it.
I have a gamesir that has the xbox layout and it's phenomenal. But this one sells me just for the fact that it's SNES themed and 8bitdo esk. I'm sold on both.

even on my 13 Pro Max I find the screen way too small, waiting on Portals to come in stock to see if that is the sweet spot for portable and size
It is for me. Plus it’s the most comfortable handheld I’ve ever had with the dual sense features. The inly question is if your connection is good and you can justify for the price.
For me, it’s been much better than backbone and phone, iPad and controller, and steam deck(original version) and chiaki. Yep, I’ve tried them all, and I’ve finally found a handheld that’s pick up and play to comfortably play my ps5 games for a long time.
I really love the game sir x2, been using it for emulation on Android, this one looks awesome!
I was considering a Kishi ultimate, but after seeing some reviews kn the G8, it was a no brainer. The G8 performs great with streaming and native android gaming. The mapping is great for playing Hoyoverse games. The price point is great, i would buy it again if someone stole it

Good thing I got this.. I was thinking on getting x2 pro since this was recently released I picked this instead..
I have the x2 pro and it's been solid but I just ordered this cause the grip shape seems like it'd be so much better for more competitive games like CoD and Rocket League

Got mine a week ago and it's been a game changer! the only con is that it's a bit large which makes it difficult to carry around but that is not a deal breaker at all. I believe this is around $5-10 more expensive than a backbone and just blows it completely out of the water with all the features, ergonomics and even build quality. I have never been a fan of playing on a mobile device until now. my phone just became my Defacto go to for emulation.
Do you know if an iPad Mini 6 would fit? I’ve been waiting for something like this that can fit one and not just a phone.

@@EmptyZach Does the iPad Mini 6 use a Type C connector? If so, it should be compatible. You could extend the extendable part beyond its default length.

I have a Z Fold 4 with the stock case and it doesn't work without modification or simply taking off the case.
I think the best way to just get a good clip with a ps4 or xbox controller and they both work easily with most games
I think this is the way to go for my intended usecase of ps5 remote play, rather than buying the ps portal accessory
If there was an attachment for you to use this for a Nintendo switch. It would still clamp and secure the switch with out damaging either usb c port of your console and your controller grip.
Or just a Nintendo version of this grip if that’s less complicated 🤣
It doesn't fit with my iphone 15 pro Torras case on it... The usb-c connector isn't long enough. They should make an adapter.

I've been using mine with a 15 pro max and the otter box commuter case. I can confirm you need to take your phone out of the case to play, you can barely leave the soft rubber inside these cases have. Been looking for a case i dont have o take off, too bad this video does not share info on the case, lol

D-pad is a bit hard and travel is short. Otherwise it is the perfect good controller for your phone.

The unofficial PS Play app will do the trick here. It's also superior performance-wise :)
That isnt the fault of the controller manufacturer, Sony doesnt allow third party controllers for remote play through the official app. I second PS Play.

Does this controller work with the iPhone 15 Pro Max?
I read some user reviews on other sites, and it seems if you have the thin Apple Silicon case, it will work fine with the 15 Pro Max, but if you have a thicker case, you might have to trim part of the rubber grips on the USB-C side.
A huge selling factory is the case that was able to stay on while using it my biggest problem is why take my phone case off while gaming hmmmmm

According to the Amazon entry it fits devices between 110 and 185 mm, and my iPad mini 6 is 195mm so I think they missed a trick there.

From the research I've done (looking to get this controller) You can use it with iphone 15 pro max. You just gotta press some buttons to change its mode to work with it. It's a USB-C connection so I don't think it would work with ipad.

Kinda lose respect for anybody still on iPhone😅. It's like they're saying, I hate myself so I make myself pay over the odds prices for outdated tech! Years ago they were top of the line, and I was a subscriber myself, but it's been a long time since that was true and you get soooo much more on android!
After playing the playstation portal for a few days, remote play or other third party systems just feel shoddy in comparison. The portal is the clear winner
Yet all the portal can do is stream. The phone can emulate and play cloud, much better all round
