I burned through 3 Backbone Ones during the last 2 years. Same issue - Right controller drift, erratic buttons autoplay. Backbone had done a good job replacing the units. I switched to GS G8 since USBC on iPhone. Great controller!
nice video here's what i do to play cod mobile on android with my gamesir x2 pro/g8 without mapping buttons codm only supports backbone-ps4-ps5-xbox wireless controllers what i do is connect my xbox wireless controller to my android via bluetooth once connected i then connect my android to either my gamesir x2 pro/g8 after starting the game you will get a controller type pop-up just choose xbox and you are good to go basically the gamesir controller is mimicking an xbox wireless controller and whenever you go in to codm controller settings you will see that your gamesir controller is connected this method only works on android since the iphone doesn't have this problem
that's a good info man!! for whoever play that cod mobile. thanks
I cant thank you enough for the actual proper review of a product.
I unfortunately, already spent the mula on a G8.. However, because of your review literally giving me the info I needed, probably should have looked for this before purchase, I am just going to fork out the cost for the backbone.
I use Xbox controllers, and they are wicked nice to play cod and other similar games, but trying to prop the phone up and find comfortable seating positions is how I found myself on this slightly expensive endeavor 😂
Technically speaking no one is preparing their game exclusively to the Backbone. They are preparing it for a general controller protocol. Gamesir G8 has one big omission here - it doesn't have XInput, it is one popular protocol based on a xbox controller. Other one is DInput, is from a dualshock controller, which Gamesir G8 has as a main protocol. That's why it is not working in Call of Duty and some other games natively. Not because it is not some brand the Backbone.
In general I haven't had two controllers myself, I have only G8 and I am satisfied. For me comfort is more important than portability. For me only problem though is that G8 is twice as heavy compared to Backbone. As for comfort, based on what I've seen, backbone is like Nintendo switch, which is not best experience. Adding that backbone is more expensive, and that's why I prefer G8. Although I see author's point of view and understand his opinion.
I honestly want to love the Backbone more than my G8 (which I honestly but painfully do) because of the portability and comfort. But I’ve had 3 Backbone gen 2 controllers fail in the last 6 months where the left side would just stop working. I heard it’s a manufacturing issue with the ribbon cable.
Yeah they deserve a class action.
Do you need a subscription with the backbone?
Backbone integration menu is superb.. I love the interface.. my con with the backbone is that it hurts my hands.. I order the G8 and im confident it will be the better experience overall but G8 interface and menu needs some work to catch up to backbone..
Doesn't Back bone have touch control mapping that allows you to play games like Genshin with no controller support?
isn't there a subscription fee after year 1 for Backbone?
When you talk about portability, both of them are small enough to fit in your backpack, for example. The difference of 2 or 3 cm in portability is not a very strong argument, in my opinion, but thank you for the video.
Are the more games for Backbone than for Gamesir? I have Gamesir G8 for my iPhone 15 but a lot of games dont work, most of all "FC Mobile" (EA Sports) which is sad :/ Will there be updates? thanks
Gamesir works with all games for the most part. You just have to cycle the different modes, there are 3 modes for the gamesir. You cycle through them by pressing both of the small dark grey menu buttons on top of the controller at the same time. Then you will notice different color lights on the gamesir button. White is for ps5/games that use controllers , Green is Android mode and blue is meant for games that are touch screen only.
Is there any G8 users out there with the Xbox buttons, will it show the letter glyphs in game or the shapes? Can you change it? I saw a thread they all default too Shapes and cannot be changed
No idea why cod mobile intentionally does this especially since on ios you can use whatever controller you like . It's work around to use g8 without mapping but if it just worked like backbone that would be ideal but that's kind of cod mobile fault not the controller
What’s the work around to use G8 without mapping?
@@arielm7643 I don't know who play COD on mobile that game really suck. just use steam link to play pc games on mobile that work like magic you won't even notice it's a streaming while using steam link. ps remote play really suck so don't see any reason to get the costlier one with ps buttons the main thing is layout is still xbox so no reason at all
Codm, pubg, freefire ... only work with bluetooth controller on android but work with wired PS mode on ios ? i'm using ipad and i dont even play there games but it make me triggered !
On the GameSir G8 Galileo Mobile Gaming Controller, can you play your xbox games with remote play on it, without having gamepass?
I haven't tested it, but I saw a lot of people saying that yes it can. I've tested it with a steam link, moonlight and retro emulators - all work fine
Yes you can
Do they both have that usb c wire connectivity feature for gaming ?
Yes.
Does the gamesir also work on The GamesirVX aimbox because I don't see it in the options
Shame
i just ordered the gamesir, i had my backbone for 2 months and the L2 trigger gut stuck, nothing helped. im gonna see if the Gamesir is really better or at least as good as the backbone, i dont care for CoD, i play Yuzu switch emulator, aetherSX2 for PS2 emulation and so on, the backbone worked there without configuration
How is it compared to the backbone?
@@itsAphelion. fantastic, the backbone is trash in comparison my friend
What about a ps5 controller with a clip??
The Gamesir G8 excels in all aspects when compared to the Backbone One 2nd Gen. Its superior design, wider compatibility, advanced features, and flexible connectivity options make it the preferred choice for gamers seeking a high-quality mobile gaming controller.
ps remote play anyway sucks so no reason to buy the backbone. just get the cheaper one with xbox layout and mainly the better ergonomics and atleast we can enjoy streaming games from pc or some online platform
The fact I’ve seen you in so many backbone/gamesir comments copying and pasting the same thing repeatedly is embarrassing, we get it, you prefer the gamesir, but you overhype and downplay the BB like it isn’t a great decision also, when it’s actually closer then you think, me personally I don’t prefer the gamesir design or look over the ps backbone look, it’s quite unique and comfortable,
@@xonlytyrek3601 if you are talking about me. I'm just giving my views on others comments. if you have more money and you like the BB one then go for it. I'm not forcing anyone. it's not my father's company you know 😅
just don't want someone to make bad decision that all!
@@xonlytyrek3601 I understand that you've noticed me repeatedly commenting in favor of Gamesir and expressing a preference for it over Backbone. It seems that my comments have made you feel embarrassed. However, I have a question for you: if you don't like the Gamesir G8, why do you keep watching Gamesir G8 reviews? You have the freedom to leave your own comment just like I do. If you feel embarrassed, that's your own feeling and there's no need to tell me about it. Likewise, I don't need to tell you how foolish it is to keep watching GameSir G8 videos when you don't actually like it. Perhaps you're upset because all the reviews claim that Gamesir G8 is superior to Backbone. Take care of yourself and consider avoiding Gamesir G8 reviews if they bother you.
Thanks gamesir employee 😂
And what about Razer Kishi v2 Pro?
razer kishi is way behind this competition.
I think I'll have to get. Both
Oh. Kay.
you just didn't map the buttons correctly. user error isn't a valid criticism of the device
or you can just use dual shock 4 wired
I dont think you are setting up the G8 correctly. Other reviewers have no issues whatsoever.. with mapping and activating buttons
Do the Gamesir G8 Can be used with a S23 ULTRA with case?
Its a thing that i like the most of my Backbone v2
No. Buy iPhone. Much better.
is it sponsored?
no offense but you might be the first person who prefers the backbone one.
the backbone app you are talking about it's a paid one you'll get it for free only for one year.
for only call of duty game, you are preferring to backbone 🤣
Then one plus open ! Thats me 😂 we twinsies bro i may get the remote too
I would rather have full controller sticks than switch style sticks. And I NEED back buttons. Gamesir wins for me
Gamesir >>>> backbone has bad input lag / stick drift / deadzone issues
G8 FK SUB on the backbone 😂😂😂
Isn't the back bone app a paid monthly subcription ? That's instantly a deal breaker for me.
It's only extra features, extra app trials, extra streaming controls and some games included. Think of a higher paid game subscription. Otherwise core controller and app functions are free. I don't use the backbone+ features not worth it IMO.
to use G8 on COD Mobile , you have to use a bluetooth controler in android . So if you have a Ds4 ,ds5 you could sync and use a G8 .
But in IOS I think COD mobile works great.
Noooo
I #GameBrainz
Have a much easier way
#GameBrainerz
Gamesir G8 working good with Cod there is now auto mapping and works very well
Cod is hopless with the gamesir however I find its more versatile for everything else
Bro
Dont give up
I can solve the problem
#GameBrainz
Why are these companies putting the USB on the right side now that foldables are so prevalent. They need to start putting it on the left.
Couldn't agree more! It sure would be nice to see someone release a USB C port on the left instead then all on the right.
Try the gamesir x2. The usbc is on the left
It's likelybto keep the volume and power button of slab phones on top. Which is the vast majority of the market
Only Gamesir G8 Galileo!!!G8 is proper feel gamepad and backbone is a toy for mobile!
But BB is more mobile than G8
@@kohorti This is only one thing where BB is better, rest is worst!!!
@@mariusznowak725 And there is no case for that gamepad.
@@kohorti I have
@@mariusznowak725 which you have?
The fact that gamesir doesn’t have rubberised hand holds totally turns me down :((
I own the backbone controller and I hate the thumbsticks, they’re too small and and they suck when you play fps games. The deadzones on the thimbsticks make it horrible for precise aiming. I’m gonna buy the gamesir because of the bigger thumbsticks and I assume it’s better for precise aiming for fps games. But overall, these companies that design these controllers for phones need to destroy the offset thumbsticks design. Nobody like the design of the Xbox controllers and they’re stupid offset thumbsticks. They need to design them to resemble PlayStation controllers because they are more comfortable as far as the thumbsticks placements.
This is a bad video both controllers are almost the same but one is 20 dollars more expensive with no reason thats why you should go with the cheaper
