CENS Digital "ProFlex 2" Custom Hearing Plugs
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 8 сен 2024
- The Cens Digital Pro Flex 2 plugs are electronic muffs in the size of an ear plug! They are custom made to your ears and offer the best rating against loud gun fire at a 34db rated protection! Most traditional style muffs only offer around 27db and are not a custom fit for your ears. I highly recommend the Pro Flex 2 plugs, they are the best I have ever seen in the field of hearing protection! Mention this review to Aaron from Earmold Australia and receive a free pair of wind shields when purchasing a set of Pro Flex 2 electronic plugs. Check out their website at: www.earmold.com.au

I’m loving this channel and all those great reviews and videos but maybe you need to do a budget series after seeing a $2000+ safe and $1000+ ear plugs it’s a little steep for most hobby shooters
There's plenty of budget videos on my channel
Great review Oz, and to the people complaining about the price, yes they seem expensive, but they are essentially state of the art electronic hearing aids tweaked for sports/shooting. Go buy a set of custom hearing aids in a custom fitted ear plug and see what they cost? Sure you can get away with a 20cent pair of foam ear plugs, but you can also get away with a savage or a tikka instead of a blaser , besides what is your hearing worth? and when i go hunting? im yet to see anyone wearing a pair of foam ear plugs in their ears.I'm ordering mine soon.
Thanks Glenn, yes I know it's not for everyone but you're right, what's your hearing worth and go out and price a set of custom hearing aides and you'll soon see that these aren't too badly priced after all...
Great video, as always. Love the music. Solid State Logic is now on my need to check out list. Cheers!
Thanks Elk… yep they make some nice tunes, I actually buy the music I use from iTunes even though I have permission to use it as I just feel it's a sign of respect to the bands… and then they get some free exposure on top of that… I just enjoy giving upcoming bands some exposure and it adds to a bit of fun when doing the intros!
id love a set! $1200aud+ tho? i know these things are like hearing aids with all kinds of tech inside them but at that cost im gonna have to opt for a new gun LOL
+Syler1979 They'd be even more now with the bad aussie dollar
Hi, I realise that this comment is some time after your review but I'm hoping that this will allow you to draw on your experience of the long-term use of the CENS ear protection and if you would still recommend these to new shooters. I'm in the UK, which is where these are made and looking for guidance from a long term user and reviewer like yourself. Thanks.
great looking product... bit out of the price range atm, but thanks for sharing it.
Yeah they're a premium product no doubt about that, so not cheap, I agree… but I couldn't do without mine now, just awesome!
Only lord and dukes can afford these plugs..lol
looks very interesting I might buy some for work, I wonder how the electronics would go with metal filings
after watching some more I might need the passive one
Aichmo Yep the passive filters are best around loud machinery…
Are they still affective if they run out of battery
Do you know what's happening with the Troy Sporting Rifle. Will we be able to get that in Australia or will it be covered by "a military stile rifle?" Thanks!
The pump action one you're talking about? Straight up looks like cat-d so that's what they classify it as… absolutely stupid law that proves it has nothing to do with public safety and all about what they don't like the cosmetic look of instead... If they disagree with me, how come we can have a Remington 7615 yet we can't have a Troy pump?! Operates exactly the same… yet the powers to be keep telling me the gun laws are all about public safety?!?
Customs can make it's own decisions on imported firearms separate from each state. Ozzie is right in saying a 7615 can be made to look fairly close to the Troy PAR. Now a 7615 when imported looks like a non pistol grip firearm so that is the difference. Very silly indeed, the people who run that shoe should investigate what its purpose would be and therefore match it to other pumps. a bloke here is looking to build a better pump action rifle to circumvent these non sense laws so stay tuned!
Its a full time job just to prepare for using these plugs. There are good plugs on the market that is less complicated and less parts to use and are affordable that you don't need a layaway plan to purchase. Its my opinion, this is not a practical product for the average member of the shooting community. The average person sometimes lose there ear plugs . Are they insured?
+Isiah Stroud Each to their own, but not everyone wants entry level gear either. I've had mine for a year now and not lost them, they are moulded to your ears so you really need to pull on them to get them out, they don't just fall out and get lost... What other electronic hearing plugs are available on the market? I'd be keen to have a look...
Is it still good after 7 years?
Holly shit 1k for earplugs daaamn il stick with my howards
How do they compare to ear plugs? Obviously they are electronic so you will hear clearly between shots but how does the comfort and sound reduction compare? Is the $1100 worth it over a $30 box of disposable ear plugs?
Disposable earplugs aren't going to give the DB rating of these, nor will they give the DB rating of earmold's non-electronic custom plugs… If you don't need electronic, go for their 75$ custom fitted standard plugs, way more protection than disposable ear plugs and a comfortable custom fit… the electronic ones are the same fit, they are custom moulded to your ear, so you can't get anything more comfortable!
Any update? Be good to hear your thoughts after 3-4 years of hunting with them. Cheers
Just as good as the day I got them to be honest. I have used them constantly and they haven't failed me
So what are the differences between hunting mode and the sport mode? Can you still hearing the enviroment on hunting mode or you have to change between them after every shoot? Thank you in advance.
Hunting mode just enhances the noise around you whereas sports dulls it down a little... in reality you'd probably not be able to distinguish between the two of them, I just plug them in and use them regardless of what mode they are on.
Athanks heaps for the reply mate appreciate it one thing tho please the
Ear flap protector thing that ya get with them But how do they stay on ? They clip over your ear or need like a mask I mean like how do they stay on over ya ears? Thanks mate
just fit over your ears, i've honestly never had a need for them
The dealer doesn't honour the deal to throw in a free set of wind shield/protectors if you mention Ozzie. I bought a set after this review - though the business reckons Ozzie has the "Hunter" version - so no freebee on the "ProFlex 2" model.
You didn't buy it through Earmold Australia then?
I thought there is only the one Earmold in Australia - in Brisbane? I bought mine from their www site. I've since gone on a trip quadding around the amplified sound is annoying. It's really dissapointing that they won't honour this deal you organized with them for the wind shield/protectors.
hey ozzie just a quick question, with a couple of other styles of electric muffs I have used they were cutting in and out when you cycle the bolt due to their sensitivity do these ones have the same problem or do they only cut out with the shot
No mate, can't say I had that problem… I'm really loving these!
What DB rating are you referring to as here in the UK they are listed as SNR = 25db compared to standard cans like the Peltor Sporttacs which are rated as SNR = 26db. Don't get me wrong I love the CENS Proflex but I think you incorrect to say they offer better protection than cans / muffs.
These offer way better protection then the traditional muffs, I have used both and these cut out so much more noise, so the DB rating @ 34db is far better then Peltors at 26db… I don't say something in a review unless I have personally experienced or used the product...
But where did you get that DB rating from - your own testing or CEN documentation? As the docs on the CENS website state 25db SNR.
P1Fanatic SNR is the single number rating, so 25 as you say… this is not the DB reduction, this is the category they are placed in, so at 4000hz they will reduce the frequency by 31.8db and at 8000hz they will reduce the frequency by 36.4db, so average is about a 34db reduction.
***** Ok so you are referring to mean attenuation. If I compare to the Peltors (purely because they are a very popular choice of active cans/muffs here in the UK) they are rated 38.3db at 4000hz and an identical 36.4db at 8000hz. Maybe they are better than the muffs you were comparing to (possibly passive?). I don't know which frequency is more relevant for shotguns (as that's what I shoot). I do agree that a lot of people will be getting less protection from cans due to wearing them over glasses, hats etc where the seal is not great. I would never go back to cans/muffs - I was just very surprised to hear they offered better sound attenuation.
Which peltor model are you comparing them to?
Did you ever consider the hunter version? www.earmold.com.au/cens-digital-electronic-earplugs/cens-proflex-hunter.htm I'm weighing up these vs a pair of the msa sordin pro x, any advice? thank you
I haven't used the MSA's so I can't comment on them sorry. But I knew there were a few difference CENS models and I just settled for these, so I can't see you going wrong with the hunter version either... I still use mine as evident in my reviews. Never failed me, so I'm pretty happy with them.
Ozzie do you go up to the Belmont range to shoot ya pistol much mate ? I go heaps but haven't seen ya up there yet hahah just wondering if ya still go ?i went seen Aaron the other week an we got 3 sets of the hunter Cens ones Aaron ya were in there the other day saw him he said ya got some more glasses anyway mate cya later up the range some time
No mate I don't go there, it's too far away and I've left the SSAA pistol section and joined Shooters Union
Hi Ozzie awesome reviews as all yours are I also shoot as the Belmont range in Brisbane me my brother an dad want to get some of these but wasn't sure the best to go with as we shoot at the range a fair bit. An shoot pistol and I have 300win an 270 223 250 an pistols and I shoot. Sporting clays but I go hunting heaps and we go in Polaris buggy will these be ok with the wind driving the buggy? An I'm hoping there comfortableAs I did get some stared plugs from Aaron the custom ones but not electronic would these be as comfortable as them?Just wanted to see if these or the pro flex hunters and yours for what I shoot the range and on buggys an bikes all help will be muchly appreciated thanks
Yes they feel the same as the other moulded plugs from Aaron except they're electronic. The wind will be heard in them if you're on a bike but that why they come with the ear covers as that will eliminate the noise. The protection they give far exceeds the standard ear muffs and using the heaviest calibres I feel confident in the noise protection...
I thought only the criminals could have guns in Australia. I'm glad I was wrong.
I wish you mentioned the price right at the start as I stopped watching as soon as I heard that.
Great product though.
my girlfriend sores will it stop her noise?
+richardperth2002 Buy the standard non-electronic ones for that...
+ozziereviews will it stop low frequency noise from her snoring because most ear plugs stop high frequency and not low frequency
I've never had that issue so I can't say how they will block snoring...
wat rifle is that?
Mossberg MVP - I have reviewed it, so check out my videos to watch it if you're interested…
Got to ask---what rifle is that ????
+Larry Gill Mossberg MVP, I did a seperate review of it...
Yeah! That the right question! It's freaking more than 1200$ and no there is no mistake with the number of 0.
Ozzie have you got a ball park figure for the cost?
9:29min I say the price mate - $1169
30 pairs ebay earplug SNR 35DB for 1.5$
For that price you should get bluetooth.
Only problem is in ear plugs only last five years
o
Great review but sorry, these are not real world in terms of affordability. They are a minus 1,000 on the bang for buck scale. Much more beneficial to review some products that most of us can afford.
Not everyone wants entry level budget gear, so I review the entire range of gear from entry level to professional.
I nearly fainted after the price.... 1 grand ouch... really cool stuff though!
Yeah I'm glad I got them tho, so much better than having to wear full size muffs
***** I can tell! Must be a pain owning firearms in Australia?
Yeah, I did an Australian Gun Laws video if you're interested in what we have to go through...
$1200.00!!! Are you daft?
No and I use them almost daily, it's a small price to pay to provide me with years of comfortable hearing protection...
Greg Pearce what's your hearing worth to you!? once it's damaged that's it!
But the batteries are really affordable mate!
how much do you think a new set of ears is going to cost you?
