Hi Lloyd, great videos which have been very helpful when choosing my first shotgun. Can I ask which cartridge pouch you are using? Looks like exactly what I'm after. Cheers
Cheers Lloyd, great review as always. Can you play music from your phone whilst you shoot with these? How does this functionality differ to others i.e Vario? Thanks
Hiya Jay, the DX5 has an induction loop but no bluetooth. NB I would never listen to music while shooting as you would lose situational awareness e.g. hearing range commands. I will admit I wasn't able to test the induction loop as my phone has no audio jack. I can't compare to Vario as I havent tried / looked at their product line. If anyone from Vario wants to get in touch I would be happy to review however.
I''m trying to choose between Cens DX5 and the 3M Peltor LEP-200 EU OR Hunting. Which ones have better sound quality and sound amplification? i didn't find any tehnical specification on Cens X5 so I can compare with 3M Peltor LEP-200 EU OR Hunting.
I'm trying to choose between Cens DX5 and the Vario Revolutions. The Vario's are quite a bit cheaper if you're a BASC member, so I'm quite tempted to go with them. Have you tried the Vario's? If so, how to they compare?
@@censdigital Great thanks, I used to use Peltor SportTac. I've found these don't interfere with the stock and are much much less sweaty in the spring/summer.
Thanks Lloyd. Like you, I've got the original iteration of these in ear plugs. They work fine for me, I wear them for both clay and game shooting, the only little issue I have, is trying to remember which way to rotate fiddly little the on/off switch for each ear. Is there enough of an improvement with latest version to justify spending a lump of money to upgrade? (Are you buying a set?) Best Stuart
I'm not sure there's enough there to warrant binning my current set. I had these for a month and really enjoyed using them, however I switched back to my own at the weekend to see how much of a jolt it was going to be when I send them back. The sound quality is worse on mine, but I am so used to it after years of use it doesn't bother me any more, so like you the biggest PITA is the rheostat control and the on / off delay, and I cant justify the spend to get over that. However, should they wear out / fail at some point in the future, I will certainly be looking at a set.
Hi Lloyd, just wondering how you found the wind noise reduction in the dx5? I am looking at eventually getting some Cens, but the only thing I would be really interested in the DX5 is the wind reduction. right now I use Vario Novos and find it quite distracting when the wind blows as you get a lot of wind noise.
The deeper battery tray helps but all in ear actives suffer from wind noise. The mic is so small it’s hard to place it in a way that would mitigate wind.
Nice review as ever looking at some hearing protection between Vario and Cens. Can't wait for the BSS19.
All CENS devices are CE EN352 certified.
Thanks Richard.

All our products are tested and certified to CE EN352 - Very important to note!

I havent as it goes but I would love to if someone from vario would get in touch.

@@censdigital I ended up going with the DX5's in the end.

@@lloydyp Thanks, one of the new features touted for the dx5 is the wind reduction so was wondering.
Did I hear right? Did u just say a set of these cost 699£?
At the time of recording that was the RRP I believe.
@@lloydyp why are they so expensive may I ask?
@@noeloconnor9518 you would have to ask CENS that I am afraid. I have a pair of DX1s that do everything I need.
