This is my entry for Pogo's "Mellow Brick Road" competition! This track samples sounds and chords from the 1939 classic "The Wizard of Oz." This was quite fun to make.

What sends chills up my spine is when Dorothy clicks her heals to the beat
She is so unbelievable naturally simply beautiful
Judy Garland was so different from the other beautiful actress from her era, she had that "simple girl" look going for her that was different from the "look at me I am so glamorous" look of the other actresses.
She approachable and natural. That's why people still love her whereas the glamour ladies have mostly become irrelevant today. (Although they're great too!)

brings me back to early 70's as a child watching The Wonderful World of Disney. Previous we would have watched Marlin Perkins and Mutual of Ohama's Wild Kingdom.
ahhhh the days of simple youth, building snow men and being upset my football team didn't make the playoffs.
I still think this should have won the contest.

I feel like the other video won because it had more effort into it and Pogo would feel bad about denying it. This video is better because it actually feels like Pogo. It's not about the appearance, it's about what feels right.
I agree that this video should have won. I did vote for it when the poll was going on and was quite disappointed that it didn't win. Still, whenever I watch a video for this track (like today) it's this one, not the one on Pogo's channel.

The winning video is very cute, well animated, and it shows a great amount of time and work. However, I feel your video is more true to the whole style of Pogo videos, where you get to see the source of inspiration as it's sampled. I love your video!

I like how you took the time to find all those clips from certain scenes of the movie and actually match up close to the audio remix as well. It was really fun to watch this and very enjoyable, too. I'm with chiixichigo, this looks like something Pogo made himself. :)

I listen this "Mellow brick road" since many months, i discovered it in 2018 probably during the spring with my bestfriend and really... this song is like " included" in my story now... i can't stop to listening it... minimum once per day... my thing, my little swcret garden... i wonder now what will expect me in the future... follow the yellow brick road... Better than the animated
The Wizard of Oz is the greatest family friendly movie of all time. And Disney's Return To Oz from the 1980s is really scary. BEWARE OF THE WHEELERS!
This is just perfectly inkeeping with Pogo's general style, it's fantastic! Beyond that, though, there's a sprinkle of your own originality with the choice of scenes, and I found the points you picked made it more clear where the sounds were coming from, for me, then Pogo's videos sometimes do. All in all, a fantastic video. Almost a little too fantastic. xD
Hard to believe this movie will be 80 years old next year...

by far the closest thing to an official wizard of oz pogo video - easily the best edited in the competition so far. excellent work and respect - a hell of a lot of time and effort has gone into the chopping and re-slicing of this video.
For some reason, the shot of Dorothy tapping her heels together at the beginning, paired with the beatiful music, makes me feel all happy inside.

At first glance, I knew I would love your one. It brought shivers down my legs due to the elegance and continues to carry on with Pogo's imagery for his works. I'm not a huge fan of favourtism and choosing one person to win something, but I do hope you continue with your fan videos so people can have a fresh breath of music to listen to. My favourite of the Mellow Brick Road videos!
Upon first watching, I thought poorly of it. A month later (now) I've watched it again with an open mind. Now I understand where the mixer is coming from...and I like it. If you took out the entire rhythm track it would reminisce of Claude Debussy.

This is beautiful, teeming with the happy glow-y warmness of nostalgia of watching this as a kid - As Pogo vdeos should be. This is the closest to his style. It's not right to take the imagery away from the music. You certainly got my vote, and would get many more from me if it would let me vote again!

I agree, I feel like this one should've one. But those who are complaining about the winning one being animated shouldn't. Pogo WANTED people to be creative, he didn't mind if people made a video like he would, but he never said they couldn't do anything outside the box.
In my opinion, all the winning videos are deserving and well done to the people who made them :)

I actually like Pogo's animated video...simply because the cowardly lion is ADORABLE in it! After Dorothy scolds him when he scares Toto his widdle nose twitches as he hangs his head down in shame just before he starts crying. SO FREAKING CUTE!
It is nice to see where the sound effects came from, though.

Great work on this. But you will not get my vote as someone has already took the effort and time to make a cool animation. It does not take much skill to cut video together, it takes time sure but well this is to predictable as a POGO entry. If it makes you feel better as a Video Editor you could pass for POGO himself, but he isn't as good at that as many people I've seen on RUclips.
Honestly, this should have won. I'm not just saying that. It's WAY, way, *WAY* better than the one that did win.

The reason people choose the stickfigure video is because it is so lively and does a very good job of the emotions that people go through when listening to pogo videos. maybe it doesn't work for you, and it doesn't touch you. But that doesn't mean it's just bad bad bad. It's just not your taste.
