And then the 2nd movie came out to reflect the opposite. Most don't even know there was a 2nd movie and that's for the best considering how awful it was.
It's really amazing to think about the original film. IIRC it was filmed on 73mm film. Each frame was almost 3 inches across, about the length of your index finger. What's amazing about that is when it was released 'digitally remastered' in 1080p, they took the original film and had to downgrade it quite a bit because 73mm film is higher resolution than 4K...a lot higher. As a comparison 35mm film is roughly equal to 4k (4096 X 2160) and is roughly 10 times lower resolution than 73mm film. IMAX states that 70mm film is equivalent to 39K! Yes. 39K. Not only that but it is analog which means the colors are not limited to 0-255 as is with digital; the colors are infinite. This is why it still looks amazing today. If it were released in 8k (which it probably will be one day) it could be shown on the largest screen available, like at IMAX, and people would be absolutely astounded, and it would still be a downgrade.
Thanks this made me look for info on how it was shot and I came across this short vid on how it was made Thanks 4 Your comment Very interesting . . . ruclips.net/video/Mqaobr6w6_I/видео.html

Joseph Joe Music is like a language. All music we know today has been made by musicians who loved a style of music and made something new with it, maybe even creating a new genre. @@lordswan1987 They forced Judy Garland to take drugs so she can stay awake during the long hours of filming. She was sexually, mentally, and physically abused, and she was only 17 during the making of this movie. And even for the other actors it wasn't pretty either.
I did some research into it and yeah, Mrs. Garland had a horrible treatment during filming. Not only was she on drugs to keep her up at all days and the abuse from other members, the other cast members hated her because of jealousy (you can actually see how they subtly act slightly cold to her during the scenes.) and the only person who was her friend on set was the Wicked Witch, Judy was for sure the worst with all the abuse but the other actors specifically the Wicked witch and the Tin men (there were two who did the role, one had a horrible lung infection that almost killed him due to the aluminum paint they used on the tin man, and the other who did the role for the movie got an eye infection due to the paint) And we ALL know about the asbestos used as snow on the set which is very damaging to inhale. I probably will never watch the movie because of what happened to these poor actors during filming. Just like how ill never see The Crow because Brandon Lee was killed ON SET DURING FILMING! Thats just horrifying.
@@LovelyLina034 Basically, all of what you have researched or said is a myth and an exaggeration. Judy Garland stated many times and many ways that The Wizard of Oz was one the best times of her life. The cast got along very well with each other and it's such a shame that the myth that they hated/were jealous of Judy is spread around. Ray Bolger (Scarecrow) and Judy were especially good friends, remaining so for all of her life. They were very pleased to be able to work together again years later in another film (The Harvey Girls). He appeared on her show in the 60's (The Judy Garland Show) and you can see how much they care for each other. He attended her funeral as well and it's said that he was the last one to leave. The abuse is very much exaggerated and much of it shouldn't even be called abuse and is more accurately described as accidents. They simply didn't know that certain materials were dangerous back then. You can't know until accidents happen. The asbestos claim is also false but it's one I see everywhere. Please I encourage you, if you have the time, watch a video called (The Plague of Yellow Journalism: Analyzing The Wizard of Oz Horror Myths). This movie is actually called " A National Treasure" and rightfully so!!! AWESOME
Man, you have been around since the start. Always loved your videos melodysheep. I grew up with your Symphony of Science songs and they got me so interested in science and space.
I've listened to this and Wonka over and over again today
Some questions: What were your motivations on the beginning? You just thought "I can so this" and did or did you have a goal in mind? What are your motivations now? You grew bigger and known so what is your goal now?Do you ever think about stopping or you just plan to go on and on until you run out of ideas?Just so you know, I'm a huge fan. I've known your channel since 2013 and since then my ringtone and alarm is Bruce lee's be water made by you, it's perfect. I never get tired of it!

Feeling depressed. Play this. Guaranteed to cheer you up . Absolutely brilliant. Thank you.
I remember I listen to this very much when my mother was alive. Now she's dead and this remind me to my mother. X(
Thank you for your hard work on this video.....It was amazing....Oz was the first movie I was aloud to watch as a small child, I was taken to another world...I can still remember how excited I was while watching this movie.....And that was more than 60 years ago.....The Wizard of Oz will live in my heart forever....Thanks again ...Watching your video put a big smile on my face....Sir, (you did a man's job)....PS, even as a young child....I remember having butterflies in my stomach when Dorothy was on the screen....Later in life, I was scared to tell anyone about that puppy love....Because this world has gone crazy....And anything you say will be taken and twisted and held against you.
Masterpiece
