Beautiful animation and I never thought of sleeping beauty being set in the rococo era but here we are and I guess it makes more sense for it was the classical era 💖🌸
Could anybody please help me find the title of a stop-motion short film from the 90s? It was about a man who had to undergo eye surgery. During his recovery, his vision was not very good. There was a nurse who helped him complete his recovery, but due to his still weak vision, he perceived her as a fairy. Once he fully recovered, he could not recognize the nurse who had helped him before, but he missed the fairy he believed had helped him. At the end of the short, the man realizes that the fairy was actually the nurse, and they fall in love. There is a scene where the man walks by the park and sees a couple of lovers kissing, which makes him feel sad an lonely.
shoppies girls!!! It's the version of the story that is usually told today where the princess sleeps for 100 years and wakes up from a kiss by a handsome prince.
Chris Allerdice yeah there were it was part of this BBC film made for vhs only I think it was called the musical tales or something... it was the nutcracker, petrushka and this and that was it, it was amazing!
Reading some of these comments...it saddens me that Disney has such a strangle hold on the child/adult imagination that that's all you can compare work like this to. Some of you even think this production "ripped off Disneys" song "once upon a dream". Utterly sad.
Beautiful use of the music, I love this version of Sleeping Beauty
Wonderful adaptation. one of the greatest fairy tales ever written. the witch's name is Carabosse anyway.
I remember this fairytale and it's a movie on Disney plus.
I'm looking for Petrushka
this is probably the most accurate to the ballet version.
I was thinking the same thing, felt like i was sitting in the theatre
This was actually from the BBC Schools series Music Time, the narrator is presenter Helen Spiers.
Carabas is the same name used in the Greek story Clash of the Titans with Perseus. And doesn’t the fairy look like a man more than a girl
At the Princess's birthday, the orchestra is playing "Once Upon A Dream" from the Disney "Sleeping Beauty."
Disney cribbed the melody off Tchaikovsky. :-)
Actually, it's the sleeping beauty waltz by Peter ilyich Tchaikovsky
Sorry, it's not from Disney, it's from Tchaijkovsky's ballet Disney used in his cartoon
I hate c unts who think disney did everything. america should just burn
George Bruns

This is definitely more like the Disney version than the original story, but I still enjoyed it very much
This version of the fairy tale is based on Charles Perrault's "La Belle Au Bois Dormant."
I never herd this version

It's also based on the ballet
עינבר נעים I keep stumbling upon you
The same team that did The Nutcracker and the Mouse King
Carabosse - scaring kiddies for 43 years… and counting
huh? I noticed a subliminal image around 11:53, a "T9" image.
Are there any others? I remember a Nutcracker animation and a Petrushka animation

This scared me as a child
Scares me as a grown woman. Stop animation kinda has that affect.
Same here. Thank goodness Disney did way better. The animated one that is.
Oh grow up! It's a fairy tale! You dimwit!🤬
@@jacquelineburt9204 I know that! It's the animation that was scary. No need to be rude.
@@antoniogirgenti9738, oh okay, I'm sorry. Can you please forgive me?

Leah Lively yeah! it gave me the impression that she was a “he”
She lost her eye by poking herself with her stick and lost her hair from stress
Gurl it's just a stick...let it go😅
