Shout out to those child actors, they did an outstanding job. So glad Laenor is free but my heart goes out to Corlys and Rhaenys who basically lost both of their children. Best episode yet!
Dragons cannot be stolen. A dragon has no allegiance to riders children.
All dragons are bonded to Targaryen blood but not necessarily the child of current rider. They choose the rider.
Vhagar was the mount of Visenya, sister wife of Aegon the conqueror, then Visery's father Baelon, then riderless, and Leana claimed her, now it doesn't belong to their family, aemond claimed it just as Leana before him.

true, but it was distasteful and disrespectful. it was the day of Laena's funeral. in her family's home. Laena who had a daughter who hadn't yet claimed a dragon. Vhagar allowed it, so it is his, but he stole it from under Rhaena. That's why he had to do that under the cover of darkness.

Vhagar didn't belong to anyone at that point but most likely expected to go to Laena's kid. Aemond was definitley sneaky but Vhagar did choose him so it is what it is. but he was very sneaky about it

@@kierakayz I agree on all counts. I would allow add that Aemond did it then because that's the only time that he could do it. It was his only chance and he knew it. After the funeral, he goes back to King's Landing and that's it. Who knows if he would ever get the opportunity again to make his move on Vhagar, specifically. But like you said, it's a dick move regardless. I think he knows that too, but he owns it. Though he didn't violate dragon-ethics, Aemond violated family-ethics.

Daemon said in episode 2 that rhaenrya had a dragon by her cradle . So she was bonded with her dragon upon it's birth when it hatched just like her son's . Furthermore syrax is known to never took another rider , extremely protective over rhaenrya and have one of the most beautiful and deepest bonds with rhaenrya

When Viserys is raging at Aegon (great acting by Paddy Constantine btw) and you can clearly tell the boy is shaken inside. But he doesn't lose frame. The biting resentment with which he delivers that line "We know father. Everyone knows" tells you everything you need to know about our next king. Every one of these scenes with Alicent, Otto, Aegon are A1. Yeah alpha uncle beach sex is cool and all but there's two sides to this targaryen coin, try not to forget that.

@@rohanshende4338 you sure you read the right books? None of these characters are good but the greens are clearly motivated by greed and pettiness. Rhaenyra was never going to kill Alicent's children. That's the excuse Alicent used to justify challenging her claim. Aegon was never going to be a good king. He knew nothing about governance. Rhaenyra was politically astute and not afraid to take action, unlike her father. Make no mistake, this entire mess was created by the Hightower's. If you read the books you'd know that. This is a war of progressive Vs conservative ideology. A female monarch who is competent but not traditional Vs a male monarch who is incompetent but in keeping with tradition. Had Alicent and her children supported Rhaenyra, no one would have been able to defeat house Targaryen. Had she married Helaena to Jace her bloodline would have inherited the throne through Helaena without bloodshed. But she had to be petty and lost all her children and grandchildren.
If you go back, pay attention to what Vaemond (Corlys’ brother) said in the eulogy. He was throwing mad shade towards Rhaenyra and her kids and that’s why Daemon chuckled. He wasn’t raised right LOL

They are bonded to riders and once the riders die they can let someone else ride if they want or not. Also if the girls wanna throw a punch they can also receive one
Are you saying that the reactors have a lack of knowledge of dragons or the people in the actual story? Even the other kids in the story say “steal” and they were raised around dragons. I don’t think that they are using the word “steal” literally.
I think that they were saying that Aemond should have been “nicer” and given them a first shot. But, he took initiative and beat them to it.

This scene proved alicent was right. Even now when her child’s eye was cut out viserys doesn’t even bother. Till now the children always took her words as mindless threat but after this scene they changed too as they see their mother was right. I don’t care what anyone says but it was so wrong for viserys to be bias. If you don’t want to give the same love and attention to your kids you shouldn’t have them. Alicent never wanted “ an eye fr an eye” she only resorted to that because she cracked after no one symphathized with her, even the own father of her children. You can how instantly she regrets after cutting rhaenerya. Viserys is the real problem and I don’t mention Otto because that man is the villain so I don’t expect anything from him.

Rhaenyra and Daemon didn't plan to kill Laenor. They set him free. Laenor didn't want his life, he wanted to be himself, and with Qarl.. so everyone got what they wanted. All 4 of them were in on it together. That's why Daemon killed the guard, so there would be a body to burn. I thought it was brilliant. Pay attention to Alicent's daughter Halaena. She is definitely a dreamer. Remember in Episode 6 when Alicent told Aemond he’ll get a dragon one day? Helaena said “He’ll have to close an eye.” Also in this episode Helaena was playing with a spider and repeatedly said “Hand turns loom, spool of green, spool of black, dragons of flesh, weaving dragons of thread.” So she's predicting the Black Vs. Green conflict in her Targaryen family! So Helaena predictions are coming true. 😉

Rhaena did have a chance to attempt to claim Vhagar. Albeit, it was bitty as hell. But she did have a tiny ass window to make her move. Daemon and his girls had to sail from Pentos to Driftmark. So the funeral is probably at least a week or so after Laena's death. Of course, that's not much a chance for Rhaena especially under the circumstances. Although regardless of the grieving state that Daemon is in, I think it's interesting that he didn't encourage her to try to claim Vhagar before they left Pentos or immediately after they arrived in Driftmark.
Daemon is mad at his brother because he always allowed Otto to separate them. Daemon wanted to be his brother’s Hand, but now is too late.

What Rhaenyra did here is a textbook definition of gaslighting. She turned a child losing his eye into a "woe is me" about her own children's parentage and made the actual grieving mother come off as "mad". People like Rhaenrya are a walking red flag.
Rhaenyra was trying to distract from the issue of her sons' bastardy, which could potentially have them exiled or even killed, not to mention having her killed. It was cruel to demand that her young brother be tortured, though, but Rhaenyra has never cared about Alicent's children.

I think Viserys did care for Alicent and the children initially. However, the more visually bitter & paranoid Alicent became, he started to feel differently. I'm sure he's disappointed in how their children act as well.

Viserys shoulda shown some concern for his son's wellbeing for starters instead of interrogating him. That would've gone a long way. But Viserys seemed more invested in Rhaenyra saying "Aemond should be sharply questioned". What do you think "sharply questioned" means in this context? It means Rhaenyra is implying the boy who just lost his eye should be tortured to get the truth out of him. And Viserys was like "bet. you got a point". Father of the Year.
Alicent isnt motivated by her kids being in danger. She's motivated by envy of Rhaenyra. She doesn't even like her kids except Aemond
Does she really dislike her children so much that she is ready to fight for their lives? There are no bad characters in this series, because each of them is a villain in his own way. Daemon's quote (not verbatim): "Each of us is capable of something bad." Therefore, I consider Alicent a very good mother, who, like any other mother, is ready to fight for her future and happiness. And she sees this listed in her children.

I don’t know what kind of culture and society people think the Valyrians were, but they were most definitely the type to take a dragon at a funeral. Aemond isn't a "pure blood". He's a half-Targaryen just like Jace and Luke. The difference being Jace and Luke are bastards who happens to look like their father. Aemond has white hair because of Viserys. They're all half because Rhaenyra is the mother of Jace and Luke, and Viserys is the father of Aemond. If you consider Aemond pure Targaryen then you'd have to do the same with Jace and Luke, since they also have their own dragons like any other Targaryens would.

I could not understand Daemon's attitude. He knows a fight has occurred between the children and instead of even asking if his daughters, who have so recently lost their mother, are hurt, he stands smirking in the doorway? And he shows far more concern for Rhaenyra's son than for his own girls (admittedly Lucerys was in more immediate danger), but what were Rhaena and Baela to think?
