This song is for a Kamikaze pilots at WWII. Actually, this song is used for a theme of a movie which is called “ Forever Zero”.
Not sure about the pilots. But makes sense to use these songs in movies

I guess the lyrics can be interpreted in a more liberal way, but they are also quite literal in the context of the movie
