    Had the same problem, sometimes it worked fine but then on the road it won't shift. Replacing all harness connected to transmission box under truck helped to solve the problem.

    I have a 07 western star will not shift from neutral to drive just had the clutch replaced to shop said the input shift was not stopping so it can shift. What could be the problem ?

    I work for a trucking company in Vancouver, I fix a lot of trucks with these eaton automatics, the problem is that the drivers try to start the truck too fast, you're suppose to turn the key and let the ecm power up and go through all the sensors and go down the list of fault codes before starting otherwise going down the road the ecm doesn't recognize the connection and burns out the sensors, people wont believe me but that's alright I'm just telling the facts, company bought the trucks new, a lot of them are the old autoshifts with clutches that people said they had problems with, the drivers who would let the truck go through before starting their trucks never had to fix was always the guys that just jump in and fire it up

      I have a kw t660 2014 with the 13 speed ultra shift and mine wont go into drive or reverse, it does this very same thing,,, how could it do that with da truck sitting still?

      also my transmission would want to come out of gear sometimes when the brake pedal was pushed in,, how many speed sensors does it have?

      2 speed sensors I believe, I know the ishift they have here just have the one

      ok would those 2 speed sensor be the same type? the mainshaft speed sensor and input speed sensor? those 2 are on top of the transmission in opposite corners im thinking the input speed sensor is bad and was gonna swap it with the mainshaft speed sensor in might not upshift but it should go back and forth in reverse to drive(2nd gear) those 2 speed sensors are identical

      honestly not sure haven't dealt with them, we have a program called tech tool that shows all the fault codes and allows us to control the whole truck on this program, recalibrate injectors and the turbo to increase power, forced regens, reset anything, change perameters, its a great thing to have, definitely worth the cost, if you have any electrical problems what so ever it shows it, you can do pressure and compressions tests, blow by tests, almost anything

    I had a 2001 Volvo ultrashift 10 speed with cluch. Cluch is new and adjusted. When rpm goes 16-17 it doesn’t shift up unless I let gas pedal off. It also doesn’t shift lower gear . It just become like neutral. Ecm says mid 130 not responding. And part number 759. Please help. Thanks

    Got a problem with my auto transmission can any please help I just put on the hole my shifter and it work but know it gets truck in gear and wont down shift or yo shift can it be the speed sensors can someone please help

    My 2016 Western Star 4900SB Dump Transfer did something similar yesterday. The truck would not shift out of neutral and flashing the "F". It was showing fault codes 16 & 19. The Eaton Fuller transmission manual says to turn the key in the ignition 6 times within 5 seconds ending in the "on" position to reset the codes. I'm not sure if that works because I didn't learn that until after I called out a service truck. The tech came out with the RoadRanger software on his laptop, plugged it into the diagnostic port and reset the codes. The codes indicated that the push button shift control panel was not communicating to Transmission ECU or Electronic Clutch Actuator (ECA). For whatever reason there was a glitch somewhere so the codes just needed to be reset and we were up and running. He did also upgrade the software for the transmission with the ServiceRanger so that may have something to do with it. If your transmission is still under warranty, take it to an authorized Eaton fuller service station and have them run do a software upgrade. It may prevent this issue in the first place. Since the upgrade, the truck has been shifting smoother than it was before it had the issue.
    Also, read up on the Eaton fuller Fault code manual. This helped identify the issue for me. here's the link:

    I'm sorry if I sound weird, cause I'm not a truck driver and I don't really understand anything in trucks. I have a question. My father is a truck driver and his truck wouldn't go into gear. F of the dashboard. Code 27. He has a brand new Reman transmission (9000$ total), installed it in a shop a month ago. He also has Eaton autoshift. He tried replacing speed sensor, nothing still. Checked battery connectors, the same. What can be the issue?

    I just bought a truck with an autoshift. Sometimes it won't upshift gears when it should. Also the other day...it wouldn't downshift. Then all of a sudden it worked. Also, it usually flashes an F on the screen when it acts up.
    I'm thinking XY but wondering if there's cheaper things I should be considering first?

      Start with the speed sensors, the one on the tail (shaft) and the one on top (right side). That should fix the downshift and upshift.

      im have the same problem. I have a 2012 international prostar im getting the gen trans flt code on dash the letter F KEEP POPPING UP. when I put it in gear it wont move and makes beepin nosie

    Anyone have experience with the Heavy Duty Auto Clutch and the GI code for grease intervals with the Eaten UltraShift? Only the heavy duty has grease zerks and a timer for lube intervals. The medium duty is sealed and maintenence free.
    We have a Kw with a paccar and the UltraShift with the Heavy Duty Clutch so it monitors grease intervals and a GI code comes on for a brief moment when key is turned on.
    This certain driver has gotten stuck in neutral more than a few times and ignores the GI code it seems, well KW said to whack shit with a hammer, lol. The other mechanics I work with say grease it and whack the shifter on bottom of trans with a hammer and reset code.
    Well I got a second call for the same problem this summer and rather than actually grease it or whack it with a hammer, I simply went straight to erasing the GI code and it worked right away and shifted like its suppose to.
    Im curious if a GI code is ignored long enough, that it will actually de-activate operations until its reset
    Anyone know? I want to know in case he gets stuck in a bad place so he can simply reset code.
    Resetting code on this one is going into L gear with key on and engine off, manual shift into 3rd and then press accelerator until arrow appears on dash next to 3, then let off accelerator and gear diplay shows zero, then go back to neutral.

    Brother I have Eaton fuller ultrashift plus and it sometimes does not want to start and yesterday I got code 21 and before I had code 17 what should I do.

      You need to check out the park brake switch (code 21). The transmission needs to know that the truck is in park in order to start (code 17)

    On your batteries there is small thin wires from the transmission! Each set has 2 or 3 fueses in a small square housing they get loose yhe housing is not grabig the fuse right !!! Take a flat screw driver and curve the housing little bit inside so it can grab the fuses !!!! And check the xyz shifter it has 2 sensors one is rail sensor and is position sensor ,, there is also a speed sensor,,,,,but your focus is wires on the batteries next fuses and housing that holds it going towards xyz shifter that has 2 sensors !!! Those sensors have a small gasket

      I recharged my batteries at my house the truck's been sitting for nearly 3 years and I was able to recharge three out of four of those batteries and the shifter would light up and then all the lights would go off the shifter except for the service engine light it wouldn't even show the truck in neutral or gear. It was blank on the dash. The small wires were broken and corroded that went to the battery so maybe that's it instead of the sensor.

      Raymond Meeks that could be the clutch, but you can also try hitting the shifter with a hard object.

    I get transmission fault from time to time, hesitates when pulling off from a complete stop like it doesn't know if wants to shift to next gear

      That is the Gear position sensor, if you have a used one it is very easy to change

    Hey I had the same thing but the code that came up was 66. So it was a poor power connection. I just had to wiggle the battery wires connecting to the ECU and the voltage went from 3.25 up to 12.75 vlz. Now it's back to normal.

      It ended up being the main shaft bearing and clutches all had to be replaced on mine . The xy was functioning . When it shifted to 5th it would lock up and the truck would cut off in gear not allowing it to go into N .

    Majority time its either bad connection broke wire or weak or dead battery. Always check batteries first.

    I recently purchased a 2014 automatic cascadia 125 dd15. I am new to trucking and i am stressed out. Last night the transmission would not go into gear. It starts fine but the check your transmission light came on. In the gear box it showed a flashing F. This the code that I saw. Diag 1..spn 520271... ecu 3... fault 1...fail 4... On this video of yours, my truck did the same exact thing. Now when i pulled the active codes by turning the keys on and off, the two codes that appeared: 66 and 21. Could you explain what this mean?
    Is it the output speed sensor?

      Ok the output sensor in the one in the tail of the transmission, it is in the yoke and the shaft and it cost around US$37. Easy fix. Good luck.

      Yes could be the neutral switch but sometimes one code could activate another, go under the truck and hit the xy-shifter with something because when they start messing around that could fix them temporarily.

    That an xy shifter stock. This happen when you turn off you engine while transmission still in gear or just xy going bad. To bring back just put transmission in N turn off your engine ( engine off key on) and hit the xy. You will feel a noise when the xy reset. Them go as normal.

    I’m having same issues w mine and was told the XY shifter had been replaced and some sensors . It now wont start cuz it’s engaged . To heck w a eaton auto !!!

      @@erinsonduran6663 I did that and it’ll start but then throws F on the shift screen and beeps . We changed a solenoid on it for the shift points and it made it back to Ga from Michigan and now it’s doing the same shit ! I’m about to burn this dang truck !! Spent 6k already ! It started after I had it greased ! Would that be part of the issue ? Having too much grease ?

      I’m having this problem now mechanic said clutch I replaced that now he saying my trans computer is bad (and it’s not) I would pull the fuse when the F would flash and let it reset but this time she stuck in neutral I’m gonna change the solenoid and see if that help question any of you ever pay attention to your air pressure did it drop down

      I just had a 2016 international with that n/f issue I replaced the TCU and that fixed it before that I replaced input shaft sensor, input and output speed sensors the two sensors on the xy shifter and nothing finally I replaced the wire harness still nothing so at last was the TCU and guess what it fixed it

      Sold it 6 months ago, it gave me too many problems in the 4 years I owned it. But I learned a lot with this transmission. Once you have the tools and the skills then you can go ahead. I still love the automatic trucks.
