Hannibal is totally in love with Will. What sort of happened here I think is that he thought he could deal with Will going to prison for him but regretted it big time once he was there, it sort of made him realise how important Will is to him.

Yes, Hannibal definitely got a love thing for Will. Mads said it was love at first sight and if you rewatch the first episode there is a discreet double-take when he first looks at Will. And he ain't the only one.
The black stag thing is a windego, a native American monster. They believed that if someone committed cannibalism that is what they became, a man-eating scary stag thing.
Thank you for your hatred of Chilton, he seems to be far too popular in the fandom but he makes my skin crawl. I hated him in the film and in this. Pathetic jealous little man.

if i remember correctly, the original depiction of the wendigo didn't have any animal characteristics, but instead was a creature (or evil spirit) with human-like characteristics that posesses humans and desires to cannibalise other humans. it's a modern thing that when films or series etc have some kind of creature with antlers or horns that they name it a "wendigo". oh, and this folklore isn't limited to native americans, but first nations in canada as well i believe.
Now I want to go back and rewatch the first episode for that!
Terrible person, but the actor is faaaaaaaaaabulous. It's the only reason I can stand him lol
I mean, I don't like the character as a person, the same way as I don't like Freddie or Hannibal as people, but I love them as characters in a tv show, because they bring the drama and the plot etc. Chilton brings the laughs.
He is a terrible human being, small minded, jealous, petty, thinks way too highly of himself etc etc, but as a character? Love him. He stumbles along in the story, thinks he's clever, and is so transparent, he might as well be a window, and everyone sees it. And he genuinely thinks he's smart.
It also helps that the story as a whole is clearly showing us that none of these people are good people. Like, the show does not pretend that they're nice and good and decent, we all know Freddie and Hannibal and Chilton are terrible, all in their own ways.
@@AnnekeOosterink I adore Hannibal (teenage years spent lusting after vamps mean I'm easily won over by cheekbones and an accent) and something about Freddie makes me smile everytime she appears. She awful but simultaneously fabulous and a smart little ginger snap.
tbh, i Get why people don't believe Will. everything is so perfectly placed by Hannibal with so much evidence against Will, that it's logical to doubt the "crazy theories" that Will is trying to present. but Jack is now Finally giving him some support. he still doesn't believe Will though 💀

Oh Hannibal is very much 💅 for Will. It's like a whole possessive/obsession/control thing. And as for all your questions the next two episodes explain what's going on, I love this show so much. Also the "I hate her, but I love her" with Freddie I feel. Like anytime she's on screen I kinda wanna punch her, the actress Lara does a great job of making me hate her
Oh yes, only a great actor can make you hate a character that much!
That red and black suit is really one of the most favourite Hannibal's looks among fans. And not only fans, Bryan Fuller got himself the exact same one.
The transition from feathered elk to horned Hannibal is one of my favorite motif shifts between seasons. Will has seen through the exterior of the elk now and knows what Hannibal is beneath the majestic fur and feathers - a creepy monster man.
Also note Will’s ability to look people in the eye now, as opposed to when the series started.
More will be revealed in later episodes, I think it'll be easier to discuss after you get a bit further lol.

this whole Will being imprisoned arc is basically just "a local cannibal found he actually still has a heart uwu".

Regarding Hannibal's "love" for Will... that will be answered in ep7 onwards but will become texts and crystal clear on S3. 😃

Explaining the bailiff and judge thing is pretty much impossible without spoiling so I'd recommend just watching more.

So, as some of your questions are answered (or mostly will be answered) in the next episodes, and you already watched some I won't answer them 😂. I'll say that, yeah, Hannibal's red suit is everyone's favorite, including Mads Mikkelsen! He took that suit with him and actually used it in an awards thingy (I don't remember exactly which one), he does look FABULOUS in it 😍. And Freddie is that b*tch we love to hate, and hate to love her outfits, if you see she's is probably the character that they put in the most outrageous (?), eye catching outfits (women in the show, until now, dress in a very elegant way, Alana and Bedelia at least) and I think is a way to show that she's in the way of every other character to be a rock in their shoes 😅, I don't know if I made myself clear or if any of that make sense 😂 but I love Freddie's annoying character
It's hard because I never want Freddie to show up but I'm always wondering how snatched she's gonna look when she does lol

Also, Hannibal is totally checking out his own ass in the mirror, as you do. He has a thing for butts apparently, since he was also checking out Will's ass in the previous season.
I mean, Jack also kind of framed Will quitting as if there was a deadline and Will couldn't after that. Like, "you had a chance to quit and you didn't" as if that was the only opportunity.
I love Will's lawyer btw, he's hilarious. :D "I opened your mail" "How many times were you sued for libel?" "No further questions" "tracked in young adult" XD
I believe Mads took the red plaid suit, he's worn it at least one award show. They offered him one and he said, "nice, I already have this one that I stole. We cool?" :P
Did Hannibal commit that murder? It's heavily implied for sure, but not confirmed yet. Also, they did that once before in the very first episode. Hannibal vs Hobbs, one sees his victims as pigs and treats them that way, the other tries to kill with mercy because he loves his victims. Not that that makes any kind of difference to the victims, but sure.
And yeah, Mads Mikkelsen said he approached the role as if it was the devil. :)

Trying to avoid spoilers, but... Yeah, you're onto something with your suspicions regarding the differences in MO, and those questions should be answered in the next episode or two. There's A LOT that happens, so brace yourself. Great rection, as always. You pick up on all of those beautiful subtleties, and I love it! Also, that red and black suit is my favorite Hannibal outfit of the entire series!

You mentioned some confusion over why Hannibal orchestrated putting Will in jail and then feeling guilty and wanting him out. I personally think Hannibal is both fascinated by Will yet of course also needs to be in control and prove dominance over 'mere mortals' generally, so I think it's more a matter of yes, he has feelings for Will, but along side that he simply wants to see if he has the power to put him into jail, then the power to get him out. I don't particularly think there's anything as 'mundane' a feeling as guilt involved in the whole thing at all.
Ugh I love and hate that man at the same time. I need him dead for Wills sake, but I also want them to get married and live on the farm 😖

the judge placement is stunning for me cause is not only what hannibal said of justice being heartless and mindless, but also because the heart and the brain are placed on a scale. The brain is obviously heavier than the heart, but to hannibal the heart is as important as the brain. therefore, both of them are at the same level on the scale.
Yeah, I can't explain the murder of the Balief being different without spoiling, just keep processing the videos and you'll know soon enough is all I'll say 😛

These deaths, the bailiff and the judge, and who killed who, will make sense in the future. That's all you need to know. There's a reason why it feels iffy to you now and you may discover it if you go back and keep thinking, but it will be explained.

This season is so vague to me. I watched the first season religiously when it first came out...but I know I always had to watch it in the daytime because all of the imagery would give me nightmares. You are confused when the show is actually trying to confuse you, well done lol. I feel in general this show though doesn't give you many answers in regards to character motivation etc, they give you clues and you have to stitch it all together for yourself, which is what makes it entertaining to rewatch, and to watch others' reactions to it, because new viewers bring their own perspectives on it. Ive seen someone point put that in the scene where Hannibal and Will are dressing up side to side, Hannibal wears a different outfit for the court, so it can be interpreted as Will's imagination. Kinky.

The murder that mimics Hannibal's murders but the cause of them is a bullet through the heart are not done by Hannibal. It's someone copying him to get Will out. *Another killer*
One, who admires the work of Hannibal but is mistaken to believe that Will is the one committing them so in *this killer's* mind he is trying to help Will Graham (believing he is guilty of murders which are actually committed by Hannibal).
Now, since the court dismissed that the murders done now are done by the same killer since the memo was different (they were to simple, all the hardwork was done postmortem while Hannibal tortured and took organs while they were alive to preserve the meat), So Hannibal stepped in and killed the judge in his classic style to make it very obvious that the killer is on loose and certainly not Will Graham.

They were mimicking in representation yes, but the cause of death was a bullet to the heart and then posed him in a way that *Copycat killer* (or Hannibal) would.
So, yeah it's a different killer but the judge was killed by Hannibal.
